- Here is my tribute to the main villain of the Ben 10 series: Vilgax!
Testing the waters abit with the Ben 10 franchise, if this video does well I might make more videos around Ben 10 villains. Started with Vilgax you guys voted for him in the polls. As explained in the polls, this video is only for Vilgax from the OG series. Will be making another Vilgax tribute in the future for the Alien Force/Ultimate Alien shows. Gotta be honest: This is probably my favourite version of Vilgax. I don't know why, but his respirator made him so much more photogenic to me. Bias aside, this video was awesome! The song really mixed well with both the Sci-Fi elements and Vilgax's sheer brutality. I especially loved that transition from him crashing into the building to the fire in his eyes, brilliant! If this was a test run, I'd say you passed with flying colours! Awesome work man!

Fun fact, they apparently wanted to bring the respirator back for Omniverse, but it was denied because they wanted him to have a mouth for more facial expressions. I wish I was kidding.

Same. In the original series he was this terrifying intergalactic warlord who everyone was wary of. In alien force and ultimate alien he became a generic bad guy/nemesis to ben wherein he always loses and gets outsmarted. In omniverse he's even treated as a joke most of the time, being scared of ma vreedle and using cheap and dirty tactics to get the upper hand on ben.
Cause it's the best version obviously
While I'll always defend Alien Force as my favourite era... there's no denying OG Vilgax was great. There's something about his voice as Steve Blum do it... you can feel the sheer malevolence and hatred in his tone.
In other words vilgax is built different literally

Responsible for destruction of countless planets.
Responsible for formation of a Black Hole.
Ruler of Vilgaxia.
Defeated a max sized Vaxasurian in one punch.
Didn't hesitate to kill anyone who stood in his path.
Even gets king respect in Null Void.
Harnessed the power of Digon.
That's what VILGAX is.

Literally no villian could match OS vilgax
I wouldn't consider OS vilgax a villain i would consider him an abolsute monster, a being of pure terror. So many words can be said, and yet none could truly describe what OS vilgax is, what he is a simple vilgax conquerer of ten worlds, a destroyer of countless more, the greatest enemy of ben 10, and well, he's vilgax what can you say that isnt said already no?
The classic intergalactic warlord wanting to rule the universe type villain. Same class as Darkseid, Frieza, Megatron and so on.
And don't forget Starscream. 😏
Lord Vilgax, Ben Ten's own version of Darth Vader, Megatron and Thanos.

This was an Incredible Masterpiece for My All Time Favorite Version of Vilgax. Vilgax in The Original Ben 10 Series was a Phenomenal Antagonist’s it’s a shame what Vilgax Became In The Later Series. Steve Blum Is a Legend Voicing Vilgax and Zs’Skayor Both of Ben Tennyson’s Greatest Foes it’s Incredible

Late to this, but I think Classic Series Vilgax was the most threatening version of him, sure in UAF he has 10 different powers, but the stilmulants on his arms to make him extremely buff, that alone is enough to be threatening. Ifeel the respirator and the voice also adds that effect.
Amazing work Micheal! This might be the Vilgax month apparently XD. I rewatched all vilgax episodes recently and I must admit I was shocked on how few episodes he is in in the OG show. I had the memory of him as a constant presence when I was a child. And this definitely shows how well was the show built. And this video definitely shows the same vibes as a constant and persistent presence that won’t stop until the end.
Also since I watched the show Not in the original language as a child I wasn’t prepare to hear the Goblin / Starscream voice on him XD. Still I actually prefer OG vilgax over the AF and Ultimate. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Arkham! I agree with you there I was also surprised how few Vilgax's episodes were in the OG show. Guess his impact was so good you don't notice it lol. Yeah Steve Blum voices him, Heatblast, and Ghostfreak over here. (Which you'll see soon whenever I get around to that) I like both Vilgax's. They are different but I like them for what they each bring.

Yeah, nothing beats the original Vilgax for me. Omniverse took some WEIRD liberties with him, despite bringing Steve Blum and elements of his OS design back…they basically nerfed him.
He is one of my favourite villains in my childhood such a fantastic main villain in ben 10 but Ghostfreak is the best Ben 10 villain in my opinion.

It saddens me how much Alien Force and Ultimate Alien fucked up his design and character (along with everything else). Vilgax from the OG series was such a badass.
Character wise, Vilgax got an upgrade in Alien Force imo. Vilgax from the OG series is cool sure but not fleshed out unfortunately.
@Michael Harlan I'll give you that they fleshed him out some, but the redesign and other character actions just didn't feel like him and were way too jarring. I think it's also because they used him sparingly in the OG series, and most of the time, he was treated more like a force when he did show up.
Honestly, I think AF and UA really didn't do the series justice in general, especially with the random character changes, and designs that were way too basic. (And they gave Vilgax amnesia apparently since he suddenly had 0 idea how to operate the Omnytrix.)
Alien Force and Ultimate Alien shouldve kept the original voice actor other than that i thought AF and UA Vilgax was alright

Vilgax is one of the best cartoon villains in my opinion, but of course number one is either Slade or Bill cipher.
Awesome work with editing the clips together, Michael! Vilgax was one of my top favorite villains in the series (next to Animo, Zs’Skayr, and Darkstar), so to see him done justice in a tribute like this (with the epic Steve Blum voiceover) is a treat. Great work dude!
Fucking awesome vid, THIS is the one and only Vilgax to me. He was intimidating he was powerful he seemed unbeatable and unstoppable he had presence he had everything that made him a memorable BADASS villain. Easy top 5 all time for me.

Classic cartoon network villains were so menacing back then, and still are, I remember seeing OG vilgax and just stare with awe and also the OG lich from adventure time and feeling fear. New gen cartoon network really nerfed the characters I grew up with

Vilgax is so much cooler and meaner with his mask. And I had a thought what if, Ben 10 went down the Invincible pathway of super violence and how Vilgax or even Four-Arms would fair against the Viltrumite and even Battle Beast. 🤣

his voice was at its best in alien force or the reboot (The others his voice is too high and shrill i need a deeper menacing voice for his design. Honestly maybe he should of swapped voices with the litch from adventure time)

OG Vilgax got tricked by a 10 year old girl lol. I get liking OG Vilgax cause he’s cool an all but he’s not the brightest and that’s ok cause that was kinda the point of the original show given his greatest advisory is a 10 year old kid…
@@MichaelHarlan1999 I mean, he got tricked by a pretty clever 10 year old girl and the 10 year old adversary was in possession of the most powerful weapon in the universe with the greatest plumber of all time backing him up
@@thunderd7904 Still doesn't excuse OG Vilgax especially when Ben is not experienced and Vilgax in the show is a powerhouse. His ego is almost always why he loses not Ben being powerful.
Even then, why is it bad in the later shows especially given that he's challenging a more mature Ben who has a much better understanding of the omnitrix?
Plus the stabbing Vilgax took was from the Ascalon sword, which is arguably more powerful than the Omnitrix.
@@MichaelHarlan1999 he just doesn’t feel the same. In OG, he’s like Frieza, and in others, he’s like Kid Buu. Probably more powerful, but doesn’t feel anywhere near as intimidating or badass.
@@thunderd7904 From what this sounds like. You don’t seem to care for Vilgax or Ben’s character growth within UAF. Vilgax starts thinking with his head instead of relying on brute strength and intimidation alone. While Ben is growing up and getting used to fighting Vilgax since he’s not a scared little kid anymore.
The fact that both of them understand each other better made their rivalry more interesting. I get he’s not leveling city’s or smashing in Mount Rushmore but can we please understand these characters instead of power scaling them?

Never watched Ben 10 but man this video makes me want to watch it. Do know a bit about Vilgax though and he definitely seems like my type of villain, I also usually enjoy villains played by Steve Blum lol. The quotes and pacing of this video really showed his character well, great job!
The fact that Steve Blum voiced a handful of Ben’s aliens on top of Vilgax speaks volumes since he makes them all sound distinct.

This was fantastic! One of my favorite non comics childhood villains pretty much! Can’t wait for seeing videos of Ben’s other rogues! Ps 1:28 is a fire transition, literally! XD
