I find it hilarious how they were all talking to each other like best friends before they get off of a ship to kill each other
The fact that all these characters consider being Legends a Job, it's likely you dont actually die in the competition and they are shooting non lethal rounds at each other. As each trailer shows them in different sets of teams.

@@moris21211 in order to compete, caustic might be required to supply the apex games organizers with the antidote. And this allows caustic to test all his gases with subjects who are willing, and wont die.

This trailer spriked my fire to come back to Apex Legends and play on the new map! Awesome work on the animation and writing!
Say what you will about Apex, but I think the characters they have created are on par, if not stronger, than any other character based online game. Every backstory makes me want more info about the history of each character. Overwatch is doing a similar thing with their shorts, but I have enjoyed the diversity in animation styles for Apex a bit more. The new map looks awesome though, I hope we get a story into why it exists too!
