They absolutely nailed the tone and style of 70's cinema.
Oh yes, whoever did this movie has almost an OCD attention to detail about 70’s horror movies, particularly 70’s Italian or Giallo horror movies. This movie would make Quentin Tarantino blush with pride, and drool with envy
Especially with the voice of the narrator.
Yep, it's perfect.@@darkcamo77
It's 70's television, not cinema, mor*n
@@suedeB05it’s literally a movie ffs 🤦♀️
David Dastmalchian is a hidden gem in Hollywood. Excited to see him shine in this leading role!
Less and less hidden nowadays!
He’s brilliant!!! Whenever I see him in something you already know it’s worth watching.
He elevated the passable reboot of MacGyver, taking over Michael Des Barre's evil genius Murdoc.
Love to watch him muwahaha-ing.
First role I seen him in is The Dark Night where he played an inmate who broke out from Arkhum Asylum and had skitzophrenia!!! I thought he did awesome
@@BigReyRey84 Same, but I saw him in an interview later, and just by how he spoke, I knew he had great talent and I’d see him again soon.
I went to college with David and I could not be happier to see him thriving in Hollywood. He's a genuinely awesome human as well as a fantastic actor.
Can I get his number?
@@eplylekh1410gay
LMAO!@@eplylekh1410
I've loved watching his career take off. He's an incredible actor!

The '70s is the best era to set a horror film in. This looks GOOD.
Depends on the type of horror, 80s seems best for a slasher but yeah 70s seems really good for supernatural and demonic type stuff
@Shyknit Yep, it's the same era in which we got The Exorcist, The Omen and The Devil's Rain.
That retro-style male narrative voice is so on point! Gives me chills to the spine
@@ShyknitThe 80s is also great for supernatural/demonic stuff due to the whole satanic panic. Check out House of the Devil if you haven’t already.
I honestly don't understand what I just saw.🤷🏾♂️
The editing...AND THAT VOICE...
You got me!
Right? The voice over is so so correct!
It's like the 1970s Exorcist trailer voice !!
YES YES YES
And I am not 100% sure, in fact it was probably just sound editing, but doesn't it sound like the narrator from the trailer for Skinnamarink? "In this house."
Yes! And lots of other '70s trailers. I'm feeling like this guy's voice was to the '70s what the "in a world guy" was to the '80s.@@Sammydx1
Loving that dark VHS mood
Same here
More like Beta Max
I was also thinking looks like it could be a Segment from VHS, which is a good thing I love those movies, I can't wait to see this movie
Any true horror fan knows of a little gem called “Lake Mungo”.
The writer and director of that film hasn’t done anything else.. until this one. He is an executive producer.
Those who know what an absolute masterpiece Mungo is should be VERY excited.
I hope this one is better
Ohhhh shiiieeett! Love that movie!
Now I’m even more pumped!
Lake Mungo is amazing
I didn’t realize that but that def just made me even more excited for it!
you know producers don't make films? unless it's a template movie like MCU
Evil Dead 1981 vibe. I know it's technically set in the 70's but I distinctly remember the evil dead narrator and atmosphere maintaining that same energy and consistency.
It’s one of two movies that I still can’t watch again. Evil Dead and The Exorcist. They both give me child like fear for some reason. I have an inkling this one might be added to the list.
@@kyleEcoyote79I'm still not sure The Exorcist is that scary for me. Well, it is and it isn't. It just makes you feel helpless because you want the little girl to get help
@@kyleEcoyote79the movies that scared me as a kid ended up being my favorites of all time as an adult. Evil dead 2 I saw at the theater and the exorcist multiple times on tv
Captain obviously

I saw this at Overlook Film Festival last year. You guys are seriously not ready for this one! This is an absolute blast, and I hope this gets the love it deserves once it gets released! Seriously, this trailer is a good one, but it doesn't do the full film justice!
Is it like Hereditary good tho?
Is it very gory or mostly eery?
I’m also wondering how gory it is, as that’s the one thing I can’t handle if it’s too much
@@carlycrays2831 There's a scene or 2 of body horror if I'm remembering right. I think it was mostly practical.
Looks very similar to " History of the occult "... it is ???
That voiceover sounds exactly like the voiceover for MACHETE and the GRINDHOUSE trailers, I love that voice.
EDIT:
He also voiced the trailer for the Call of Duty DLC, CALL OF THE DEAD
I thought the same thing. It's PERFECT for grindhouse horrors.
I really respect people that pay attention to details like I do.✌🏿
@@shawnpound7112ok
agreed
Also SKINAMARINK.
I love seeing David Dastmalchian’s career grow. A minor role in The Dark Knight is the first thing I saw him in and he made an impression. Since then he continues to land bigger and better roles!
Last year was awesome, I think I saw David in like 6 different movies, most of them horror. I'm glad to claim him as a member of the horror community. One of us! One of us!
It's crazy how he's still described as being "from The Dark Knight" when that was a non-speaking role in one scene. Not many people can make an impression like that.
DD was good in ‘Dune’. Too bad he got killed off.
I remember when my friend and I saw David Dastmalchian in Ant-Man of all things, and she just said “that dude looks VINTAGE.” This feels very right.
David Dastmalchian FINALLY getting an awesome lead role!! I'm so excited for this because if it doesn't come to a theater near me, I got Shudder! 🙌
I like the look of this movie. And I also appreciate the nod to the trailer narration stylings of Don LaFontaine. The gravelly voice of so many movie trailers of the period.
David Dastmalchian is one of the most watchable actors around🌟
I watched BBC Ghostwatch back when it was aired on Hallowe’en in the early 90s, this is giving me similar chills😮
I was gonna say the same re: Ghostwatch vibes!
Exactly my first thought although I'm American I watched it by word of mouth. Still pretty terrifying today
@@atodamadre3197 it was terrifying when Ghostwatch was aired as Michael Parkinson did an interview the day beforehand and said that it was a live transmission and *not* a drama, so of course teenage me started watching it thinking this. Then to freak me out even more: my watch stopped at the exact time that the clock stopped in the program. It was an experience for sure😄
@@atodamadre3197 - Agreed...rewatched "Ghostwatch" just a few weeks ago, looking specifically for "Pipes" - he's everywhere, including *in the driveway,* amongst the crowd.
Spooky AF...! 😨
Ghostwatch 😮 absolutely terrified me when watched it
What do we want?
To see David Dastmalchian act in more movies!
When do we want them?
Now! Right now!!
I'm sold. Reminded me of "The House of the Devil." Love letters to 70s horror.
That’s my favorite decade of horror and my favorite decade of films in general
Saw this at Overlook Film Fest last year. It was a blast. Everybody in the cast is amazing and it is really original. David kills it in the main role. Certainly worth your time
What's the ending?
It’s good to see David getting such a big role. I remember always seeing his face in movies I watched growing up, seeing him thrive is awesome. I’ll cheer him on every step of the way
Finally David Dastmalchian in a lead role!!! He deserves it all!
The 1970s, VHS tapes and...the Devil goings-on😈 Unmistakably 70s, and I was there first time round watching all the horror masterpieces way too young. I survived.
David Dastmalchian is such a master class act.
ABSOLUTELY NAILED THE VOICE!!!! Yes, of course I'll check this out!!
Looks intriguing. I like the throwback vibe. And it's rated R.
David is a scream king now! Love him!
Heres a cookie for u🍪 now go watch madeas house or love and basketball
FINALLY got our teaser trailer!! Hell yeah, I'm seeing this!!
I have watched this trailer sooo many times already. I can't wait until it comes out. I'm so excited to see David Dastmalchian in tis movie.❤😃
what a fantastic trailer, reminiscent of something straight out of the 70's
That old school voice intro and the VHS tone🔥🔥🔥
Any movie I've seen David Dastmalchian in hits the mark. He's every film's good luck charm. This one will be no exception
I'm a 70s baby and this s*** takes me back to my childhood this is going to be unsettling and I'm here for it💯💯💯
Yeah - Same here...and I remember begging my Mom to let me see "Friday the 13th" with our babysitter (who was going to see it), and her losing her cool, 'cause "You're too young for that!" 😂
Bring on the nightmares.
I'm 54 and watched the trailer this morning. All I could think was, "Ooh, wow . Creepy. Scary. Good "
I was very intrigued once I heard about this film, now after I've seen the teaser I am very, very intrigued!
I love how I remember David from being Jokers Thug in The Dark Knight to fully blossoming into very rewarding roles
David Dastmalchian is such an underrated actor.
From one of Jokers goons to now, I am genuinely happy to see him come so far (goes to show what being in a Christopher Nolan movie can do to you in the long run, no matter how small the role is)
I'm happy Eric Andre is getting a new season, but was a little disappointed I didn't see him in the trailer.
I saw this at a preview screening last year in September 2023. It is the most original horror film I have seen this decade. It must be experienced in the theater 😍😍
Ever since it's festival debut, I have been desperate to see this film. I haven't stopped thinking about, especially following reviews from some of my favourite directors and creators in the horror genre. I gasped when I saw there was finally a teaser, and a release date so soon too!
Polka Dot Man still seeing his mom is crazy.
You gotta love the voice narrating the trailer at the end that was priceless that my friends is how movies should be advertised. Well the good ones. The good ones. Yes the good ones
That's the guy who use to do movie trailers in the 70's and 80's nice touch
I saw this last night at a midnight showing and it was really good!! About 80 people in the audience and most liked it on the way to the parking lot
The narration of the films title at the end was flawless. “Late Night with the Devil.” Goosebumps! This looks excellent.
Dastmalchian is amazing in scope. glad he got the big break. he will easily earn awards in the future, as he is a brilliant actor.
Been waiting for this trailer for a long time since i heard the reviews from screenings, i'm glad they finally manage to drop it. the concept of a TV show from the 70s gone wrong is intriguing and i can't wait to see David Dastmaltchian shine in this movie!
Now THAT'S how you make a trailer for a horror movie! Yes. Yes. I'm in!
I agree!
Unmerciful Servant: Forgiveness and The Infinite Debt of Sin by Sensus Fidelium.
I will watch ANYTHING with David Dastmalchian!!! I've had my eye on that guy since I first saw him in 2008's The Dark Knight!!! I'm looking forward to this!!!
It’s so great to finally see David Dastmalchian in what looks like a leading role!
Feels like a trailer from Grindhouse… love it
The Skinamarink trailer nails that feel even more.
Agree with Grindhouse
Finally, been waiting so long for some info on this after it's good reviews
Anything that has Ghostwatch vibes goes at the top of my 'need to watch' list.
What is ghostwatch
@@andrewmares3701 - The now-infamous "BBC" production that aired, 'live', on Halloween night in 1992.
It caused *such* an uproar from those who thought it was 'real' (including the tragic suicide of a mentally-handicapped boy) that the BBC didn't air it again for years afterward.
@@andrewmares3701could be wrong but it was a show done in the uk on the bbc in 1992 from what I recall it was banned as it had scared people watching it if I can a link for its wiki I’ll post it for you
@@andrewmares3701 this is it en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostwatch
Ghost watch was a live aired fake documentary style show early nineties in uk. It was played on BBC late night on Halloween night. It tricked most of the population that what was happening was live and REAL. (Possession and attack on a British family by a ghost called pipes) It scared the living shit outta me 👍
David has recently become friends with the last podcasts guys , they interviewed him for this film and separately at Halloween, he's an amazing interesting guy hopefully he will keep getting more major spooky rooks
David Dastmalchian LETS GOOOO!!!! His time to shine as a lead role! He kills everyone part he plays. Underrated!
That trailer voice-over is spot on!!!
Need to take a break from the superhero movies and watch something like this. Love the throwback feel.
So happy to see David in this. I have just loved this actor since I saw him in Dark knight.
I'm just happy to see david dastmalchian gettin the recognition he deserves
Finally a theatrical release! So excited for this one. Joel Anderson, who made Lake Mungo, is one of the producers
That one was spooky
This seems like a segment from one of those VHS anthology movies that had enough meat to it to expand into a full length feature. And I do mean that in a complimentary way.
You talking about the grindhouse trailers?
@@atodamadre3197
No, the VHS series of movies
@@ashleybrooke2087 oh shoot, I didn't read your comment correctly but yeah I agree.
OMG, this is the David D film that I heard about - I am so glad to see the trailer - looks amazing and so authentic to this 70s kid!
Delighted to see David getting a lead role. He is someone who captures your attention when you see him on the screen
This looks nucking futs and I am all about it! I'm looking forward to March 22.
Predicting it’s gonna be on alot of people’s year-end list. It’s next level for Dastmalchian.
Have you see it? What sort of horror movie is it? Very gory?

When a movie or TV episode is no longer shown and there are no available copies of it to view, it is considered "lost media". For instance, some TV studios would actually re-use the video tapes of previous episodes by taping over them. Sometimes, after many years of searching, lost media is recovered when someone finds a copy or the rights to release it are provided.
If this doesn’t capture the 70s perfectly, nothing does. The voiceover alone triggered my memories of so many good theatrical and made-for-tv productions. Burnt Offerings, Trilogy of Terror, Something Evil etc…
This trailer is better than most films in their entirety
😂 too true and sad
I've been waiting for this to drop Holy shit this looks incredible I can already tell this is going to be an instant classic👌🔥🔥
Wow this trailer floored me! I cannot get over the pitch-perfect atmosphere!
1970s style found footage i freaking love it cant wait to see it
the premise and title are genius. Looks very interesting. And the trailer is great too. I ll buy it . I have a feeling that 2024 will be a great year for horror. longlegs, cuckoo, stop motion, this. cant wait 👏👏👏👏👏

Lake Mungo had such a lasting impact on me. It's one of my favorite horror movies of all time, I can't wait for this one!
I was a kid in the 70s who watched a lot of talk shows and movies. This trailer NAILED IT. I hope it becomes a massive hit!!❤
This narrator is the voice for so many horror trailers. Is he 100 by now? Bad joke, I know but looks quite intriguing.
I'm so watching this. That voice brings me back...

Dastmalchian is such an underrated talent-glad he’s getting more and more exposure and bigger roles!
Dave Dastmalchian has always been one of those actors where even if he plays troubled or dangerous characters, you can't help but like him or empathise with him. That's how compelling he always it.
David Dastmalchian is a freaking awesome actor. would love to see more of him
This style of the horror trailer reminds me of 1990s movie trailers and I love it!
It had to be on 1977 because on 78 we all know what happened. This trailer is enough for me. Still don't know what the movie is about but I'm feeling intrigued, just perfect.
