The city of Roanoke Texas conducted a test of their outdoor warning sirens on Wednesday, August 7th 2019. The siren ran alert and attack both lasting about 1 minute each. this siren is located next to the Roanoke Community pool.
This a very cool siren test. I was disappointing to find out that it had a broken rotator, their was a public works truck there and i'm pretty sure they were there to see if the siren was functioning properly.

Nice! Strange how 508’s always seem to have broken rotators, I’ve been to two with rotator issues before as well, only 2 out of the 4 508’s I’ve recorded had rotators that worked right.

It sounds easier to fix than a Whelen breaking it's rotator. Just replace the rotator motor.

I've been trying to fin a operational 508 in almost a year now and I still can't find one near. WSS installs had them but installs them somewhere else like WTF!?

no this siren is actually pretty new and it’s still there. It also replaced a model 5 a few streets down.

OWS Crazy1 this replaced a Modulator in 2014, sat on the same pole as a matter of fact! This unit actually uses a 2 piece pole!

Seems like lots of these sirens have bad rotators. The one near me had the same problem, but I think it works good now.
