It turns heads everywhere I go and was a lot of fun to build and even more fun to use. Top speed is 30 mph with a Honda 90 hp and averages 4.6 miles per gallon fuel economy. 25 feet on the water line, 28 feet length over all and 7.5 foot beam. Weight is 2540 pounds. - Jak na to + styl
Panga... the best boat in the world
I thank you for sharing your insight that building will save you 50% of the cost of a new boat. I, like many dreamers without experience, presumed DIY building would save a lot more money. It is best to understand the realities of bringing a dream to life while still in the dreaming phase and not a year into a project.

What’s your fuel economy on this boat? how does the boat do in rougher water? Thanks for the help and great build
Thanks John! I get an amazing 4.6 MPG on an average day on the ocean. With the 90 hp and the right prop, my top speed is 29.8 mph WOT, but cruise at around 16-24 mph, it all depends on the swell. I've been in some really rough water and of course need to match the speed with the waves, but the design handles the rough stuff pretty well. I have never taken a wave over the bow, but it can slam down when the swells are over 5-6 feet. I try to avoid going out when the swell is more than half the period, ie 4' every 8 seconds.I hope I have answered all your questions?

Im interested about panga boats design they looks suitable and soft in water
The Panga is the most common boat design in the world! It is smooth on the water and has excellent fuel economy due to it's long and narrow design.
What plywood did you use?
I'm looking a fast stitch/glue skiff like this in the 20-22 foot range, any tips?

Carlos, The floor is 1/2 inch, the sides 3/8" marine plywood, which has no voids in lamination. Two layers of 50 ounce cloth on the hull. You can buy the plans for $150 at the link above.

HI Ron I see you took 2 yrs to complete, I am guessing you were not going at it full time. If you had to guess what it could take with full time dedicated? 40 hrs per week .... ? any idea? I have built q 16 foot stitch and glue kayak so the materials are not totally new to me ....
I spent about 40 hours a week, weather and dry time permitting. I would guess you could do it in a year, year and half if you really worked hard. Check out the forum at the link above. You can search any topic and ask questions.
