the “helicopter blade” on the back of the tank is supposed to be a log. the log is place down under the tank’s tracks and used for traction if the tank gets stuck in mud.

unditching log, actually a really good idea russia was a heavy user of, wasn't hard to get logs that where sturdy enough to be used that way. the west was really late in adopting it.

And no kidding, it's a log for self-pulling. It is attached to the tracks of the tank if it is stuck in the mud or in the snow. Most Soviet tanks have such a log.
Most modern russian tanks still has them=D. I think it will be funny to see our ARMATA with the same ol' log)

@@engeerror8161modern Russia tank must have a log like that. The reason is winter in Russia is pretty cold that it even freeze the road and the soil is all covered with snow. When spring come, the snow started to melt. Water from melted snow and dirt make the road pretty muddy. A log is necessary for tank crew to pull the tank out of muddy area in case

The B3 looks exactly like a B3. No mistaking it for another tank. I wish you would get the IS-2 from Sluban too.

Excellent review! The model looks great overall, just with some minor stability issues. I wish you could showcase how the suspension seems to work though, because it looks like each of the road wheels has a simulated torsion bar with rubber that should allow it to "spring" up and down!

Both model are amazing. Prefer the m1 model much more, but the smoke grenade dischargers look a bit ugly in my opinion. But great set in term of accuracy and scale. Really can't find any quirks instead of the fragility of the b3 model in some areas

Would you recommend buying Sluban? Because in your videos your thoughts on it seem mixed.
You can position the log up or down to prevent it from spinning
Got one of these less than a week ago and i love it i was even able to maje it more acurate to its real life counter part by using extra pieces to add the 3 kontakt 5 ERA blocks on the side and adding a proper commander's sight for the B3 version which i like alot more than the M1 version just because i have a bias for modern russian MBTs though still cant find a solution for the rotating unditching log. I also had to make my own minifigure for the gunner only using the tankers hats they came with on my own minifigures because sluban minifigures are plain garbage.

Im großen und ganzen (find ich) ein schönes Modell. Der Helikopter-Stamm am Heck des Panzers ist lustig. Nicht nur was zum bauen sondern auch etwas zum "Erfreuen"... ;-) . Die B3 - Variante gefällt mir persönlich besser; der Turm wirkt ein wenig geschlossener und sieht meiner Meinung nach gefälliger aus. Gruß

You should get the sluban S-tank model. It has no turret and the cannon is at the front.

Update: It does work, but the movement is limited and the rubber blocks are too stiff because they're thick in the center part. Better change them for Lego rubber blocks 45590.

Absolutely, they have an awful reputation for the autoloader causing that to happen.
@@cyberleaderandy1 but it gonna solve the problem that Russia have too many woman but not man and auto-loader can keep loading shells for long time with same speed
@@nhatpham2206 No, the autoloader was introduced because in the case of a nuclear attack, the loader, being the one performing the hardest work, would be the first to run out of strenght and the tank would not function properly.

Мне и то и другое, просто по правде, COBI технику делает деталезированой, но при этом огромной с размером руки какого небудь мужика, иза этого многие для анимации, берут танки или не только танки, от слубан, и от брикмании, хотя у брикмании с маштабом тоже проблемы, к счастью COBI сейчас уже не такую большую технику делает, и снимать и использовать их в мультике, или в игре, одно удовольствие

Imo B3 looks better, yet as for me - i think i would rather buy something else. Idunno, Cobi's t-72 or Cada's T-90(welp 90 is almost same thing as 72). I cant explain why but i just dont like how this set look.
