Thank you! This issue cannot be allowed to drop otherwise it will happen again. I had a 38 y/o colleague who died of a heart attack just 48 hours after his leaving behind his recently wedded wife. The family is devastated and deserve to know what happened.
Translations: sublimating from the self to everything requires detachment. Staying there is effortless, connecting to source, being authentic.
Then one has to choose how to show up in the real world, that’s who you are after awakening.
There is no self that you aren’t presently, right now, creating with every choice and habit you make.
Then there is no copyright protection because there is no Alan Watts,.

The question that I have for God whatever God actually is, is "what do I need to know and do to be better and make everything better for the collective good"
Do as you would be done by.
What is the collective good? Isn't that subjective? Perhaps God's underline of good is contrary due to being the manifestation of perfection. With perfection comes great change to the imperfect to make it; what is to say that good has not changed in the conversion? What if seeking perfection is destructive to seemingly perfect and good things we have? What if morals and consciousness, thoughts, or actions- perhaps even just acting- is imperfect? What then do you do? What does good mean? What if perfection actually destroys what 'should' always be imperfect?
To take advice from those with separate ideologies, thinking the data/action will align with your goals is dangerous.
The Way of a Bodhisattva. That's an answer to the question you're asking. I won't lecture you on 'good' and 'evil'. I prefer Shakyamuni Buddha's approach, 'go and find out for yourself'. Here is one short story I will share with you. May you get a laugh out of it at the very least.
(Two men are walking through a forest. One man asks the other a question)
Q: 'Have you told me all that you know?'
(The other kneels down and picks up a leaf)
A: 'What is held in this hand before you is what I have shared with you.'
(The questioner gazes upon the solitary and simple leaf and then the many leaves that surround him)
Q: 'So you ARE hiding something?'
A: 'You are focused on the hand holding the leaf. The hand can only do so much.'
Q: 'I don't understand. Can you elaborate?'
A: 'The leaf is the teacher here, not the hand that holds it. Will you accuse this leaf of hiding something from you as well?'
Q: 'What could a leaf possibly hide?'
A: 'Ask the leaf.'
Q: '...................'
A: 'What did it say?'
Q: 'It was silent and unmoving, flowing with the wind, just like all the other leaves.'
A: 'That leaf must be the Buddha you've been looking for.'

If there would be no self, you wouldn't be able to kill anyone, there wont be "you", your parents etc. It all came from misinterpretation of Buddha teaching of anatta (where he pointed out our view of self is wrong, not that self doesn't exist - SN 22.59. I don’t remember when there was just me. I guess there was nothing to gauge me against. No frame of reference to measure or compare.
My earliest memories, (of which I am aware) are of the time when there were only them (or us, depending on the perspective), the Dark and the Light.

My question I would ask God is could I please receive an, understanding of everything not a full understanding because it would break me just a 50% on everything that's good enough. Then I can find my peace in the universe live till my agreed upon end and then be happy with my placement in the next life.
Easy it's so simple people refuse to accept it or see. We are all one experiencing all outcomes. Once people get God is all of us because we are it, people would stop fighting. Everything is a singular in nature. It becomes conscious and experiences life in all manner, aka God. Says it bluntly in the Bible or any other book. We are all a part of God, aka we are one.
