    Hey w0rthy great video! I've been following you here and there for a while now. Just wanted to add some thoughts here. To preface I only skipped to the timestamp of my coaching. I don't disagree with anything you said, I want to just provide some context into my reasoning for any viewers.
    Like you mentioned we have largely different approaches to the game. You tend to take the more passive approach, as does Hooj. I tend to lean on the aggressive side of things. This may be role-based as that's how we learned the game. I think taking risk is very important and leaning into the risk to retain space or to take space is something that I would rather have. Compared to the passive approach every time. "Playing to win instead of playing not to lose." It's overly generalized here but that's the mindset that I have in solo queue and I differentiate that when i'm competing in a coordinated 5v5 team environment. "Correct Valorant" is good and playing for numbers when you have advantages are good rule of thumbs. But I personally lean on the nuance a bit more if you can control a timing instead of giving the enemy too much respect. I do acknowledge that this level of respect should vary based on the skill level of yourself relative to your enemy.
    Regardless, the reason why I push Hooj in the lens of being more aggressive & gun fight oriented on bind offense specifically is because he was already having a hard time. Specifically on the duels to just fight B long or A short they haven't been able to have any successful executes. Personally when I'm in those situations my default response is to take a high risk duel to open up the map early rather than try to win via macro/strats due to the perceived lower mental state within the team. If we've lost 6 rounds in a row my teammates are less willing to throw fakes or default.
    To add a bit of context as well, I've been coaching Hooj before Madrid and some things he's voiced are that he has difficulties communicating to his teammates when he plays raze because he's dizzy. The utility and agent doesn't come natural to him. In my opinion this means that I tend to look for solutions based on his individual plays rather than coordinating with the team. However, I do think that coordination is very important and will likely be one of the key factors to make the push into Radiant. Just not as important at this stage.

But realizing that an immortal player like him still makes mistakes and suffers from certain flaws in his play style is huge. As an ascendant I can even look at immortals or radiants and notice the mistakes they make. At almost all levels of the game above plat and Diamond it’s just consistency.

    This series is an absolute banger! It's a shame many people think you are bashing Hooj when all you are doing is spectating his gameplay and giving your insights on it for all to learn. I may not have come across your channel if you hadn't been farming Hooj for a few days now, and I'm very happy I did. This is a smart idea, and the views your vids are getting seem to back this up. Nobody is hating on anybody here, people. I'm sure we can all agree Hooj is an awesome coach who has immense brainpower. Seeing him struggle in his games shows how much of an impact preassure can have on us while we play. Hooj himself would surely have a lot to say about his own gameplay. Heck, he would surely have things to say about w0rthy's too. Nobody is right 100% of the time. There are styles to everything and we all make mistakes. Hooj does not need anybody defending him. He's doing perfectly well out there. Just enjoy the videos.
    Thanks, w0rthy! I hope you stick to making these. Know that the silent majority is loving it. Nevermind the annoying people.

    i think in 11:00 hooj used his ult cuz he heard enemy has vandal and while he was using the outlaw ( long range weapon ), they could somehow wallbang kill him or just let him stuck scared in tp ( both would created a 1v1 situation with the guy on site ). If enemy successed on the 1v1 then they could also success on killing hooj after that and make it 2v2, so tbh i don't feel that was an unnecessary move from him.

  • @imbadatpickinganame
    @imbadatpickinganame Před 3 měsíci +20

    My comment is going to be my own analysis of woohoojin as a radiant coach, for my credentials, ive hit immortal 3 on 3 accounts, one NA, one APAC and my peak is radiant EU, which is my main account and server
    I used to play CSGO and peaked faceit 9, global elite, i didnt get 10 because i was young and had to pick between studying and long nights of gaming, i chose to study
    I have and do coach friends and their friends for free, my biggest accomplishment is probably my best friend ben, who despite placing bronze 2 in episode 5, peaked ascendant 2 in episode 6
    There is one glaring problem with woohoojin that i see even in radiant lobbies. he is not a raze player, he is not a duelist player. I understand that him playing raze is intentionally to push himself out of his comfort zone, but it shows and its massively holding him back.
    simply put woohoojin does not have that duelist aim, he plays a duelist slowly, and whilst thats all well and good, hes not built for it and it shows. some people can flex into a duelist role, my main is omen, but i used to be an aim crutching jett, the intention behind falling off of the duelist role for me was to force me into focusing on playing around my team more and that took me from gold into ascendant within an act.
    you dont fall into playing a duelist because "oh im too used to playing smokes", a duelist has to be an aimer and ideally its someone who can IGL well, if woohoojin wasnt a good IGL he would be stuck ascendant immortal, the same way id be stuck in the same rank if i kept aim crutching jett and playing solo, despite the fact i IGL
    tldr, the duelist role is not right for him, especially in radiant, the duelists will be better than him, he will just be duelist diffed and that shows because hes already struggling in low immortal
    the first thing i do when coaching someone is give it to them straight about how theyre playing and what role they fit into, because 90% of the time what holds people back is that theyre playing a role incorrectly, and whilst i wouldnt say he plays duelist incorrectly, he just does not have that dawg in him, you have to be fast as a duelist and that just isnt woohoojin
    as an omen player, i understand the nuance of my agent, the smokes sit higher than any other smoke, so if i throw a one way i know i have to manually put it as low as i possibly can for the one way to actually be a one way. when i tell you ive won games because of an enemy smokes fill, especially omen fills, the same is true for any other role, what is a killjoy without a setup, what is an initiator who doesnt understand the how when or why of their abilities, a sova without lineups, a skye not using her heal or flashing for info, what is a duelist with average aim.
    thanks for coming to my ted talk

      It’s true. I have a friend thats been radiant multiple acts. But only hits it for 1 game and then just gets bored. He took a 7 month break, struggled for week but now is back to match mpving 70% of his games against radiants. This guy is not a radiant level raze / duelist. He was 12-1 after 4 or 5 rounds and completely shit the bed on attack after the 1 shorty kill. Playing fast and agressive isn’t for him cause he simply doesn’t have the aim to. Hes too scared and mechanically behind (even for imm1, let alone rad..)

    • @imbadatpickinganame
      @imbadatpickinganame Před 3 měsíci

      @@x-_-xGhosTx-_-x i charge nothing, so far ive only coached friends and their friends
      thankfully figuring out which role you belong in is fairly simple
      if your aim is consistently better than your peers and your game sense is good enough to call shots and IGL, then you should be a duelist, i was placed very low when i started playing and i guardian crutched jett and reyna for a while whilst IGLing
      initiators should be with the duelist, theyre the refrag, they set the duelist up etc, if that feels rewarding to you, setting the duelist up, refragging them if they die, then you belong on initiator, but initiators have a very big range, theres ones like sova who lean more towards info, skye whos a mix of flashes and info, kayo who is similar, i really enjoy playing kayo, hes my initiator flex if im ever made to fill, im most comfortable on omen, but i can still flex into a duelist and initiator role well enough that a coach wouldnt be able to tell i was playing fill
      if you find you enjoy initiator more, the biggest problem will be deciding which one you like to play
      sentinels watch the flank, even if its chamber you should still be proactive about watching the flank, on defense you need to be the person who likes to anchor sites and doesnt over rotate. i could never have been a sentinel in lower elo because i never trusted my team, i was always rotating but if you feel secure enough to anchor and not over rotate, and you like holding down the flank, then a sentinel would be good for you. similar to initiators two sentinels are different to the norm, chamber and sage can be played more aggressively, especially if you watch people like grim abusing sage, she can be very strong and grim walls still catch people out, even in high immo lobbies
      with smokers i cant tell you anything about clove, i dont play or support valorant anymore, i quit this act, but smokers are middle line, behind initiators, from what you have told me i dont think a smoker would be right for you, since it sounds like youre feeling like you have no control in your games
      however, omen is easily the most flexible agent in the game, he has smokes, a blind, TPs and his ult has saved me rounds so many times by using it to pick up spike, im obviously biased because hes my main but omen can do it all, you can play him passively like any other smoker, you can initiate, you can entry, everything, and thats why i fell into omen. in my opinion he has the most agency of any agent in the game and is perfect for solo que climbing, but thats because the roles i play best are duelist and initiator, omen is a perfect mix of my playstyles
      i think just understanding that duelists should IGL and entry, initiators should be with the duelist basically always to set them up, smokers play more passively and can lurk, sentinels watch flank etc is the best groundwork to decide which of these playstyles you prefer, then you just have to pick you main based on their abilities and your preferences
      hopefully this helps

    • @imbadatpickinganame
      @imbadatpickinganame Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@nhfullll absolutely, your best aimer needs to be playing duelist, he has some other pieces of the puzzle down, like the duelist should ideally be the IGL, and i like seeing that he uses his satchels dynamically, but you never see him satchel himself out into a fight because like you said, he is scared to knowing its aim diff and unfortunately there is not much to be done there
      as a raze i dont think he should be above high diamond low ascendant

    The fact that he is THIS excited over a few early round kills to build his hype (although just second round off his anti eco with an outlaw even), just shows he has never been radiant himself. I'm not talking about boosting, but he also don't have the mentality. There are radiants with high ego as well, but Hooj wanting to prove himself now and raising his ego this much over immortal players on 2 rounds VS lower buy one of the rounds... Idk, just shows he isn't there mentality even in my mind

    I disagree with you saying that lamps doesnt matter. I have seen a lot of pro players and coaches who says that you cant play post plant without lamps. And it makes sense if you dont have control of lamps you always loose post plant since showers is easily countered.

    I'm sorry, I just don't know who you are. I mean, what's your experience, rank, credentials in general. I can't seem to find them anywhere. You really are too passive and risk averse, contrary to most top players, so I just don't know why should we believe you.

    No offence but I as some of the other viewers genuinely curious about your credentials as a valorant coach. Your intro has little to no info about yourself and yet you are offering coaching service. As someone working in public healthcare we have to show our qualifications to the public as a mandatory requirement. This is an act to show we are professional in what we are doing. I do not see such credibility on your channel so far.

    Be careful when farming too much woohoojin content.
    With all the attention you get, it's only a matter of time until you too get exposed for faking credentials.
    And I don't think you'll be able to hit Radiant for real, so I don't wish that upon you and your business.

      @@umbbreon he claims he was "VALORANT" (Radiant elo) in beta. He doesn't play the game anymore so I don't know what's his current rank is. But from his content and the way he coaches I can tell his game sense is around plat/diamond level at best.
      He says he has previous experience being pro at CS and other fps games but like I've never seen any proof on those either.
      Purely by watching his content I can tell he's just a guy who's building a business around coaching people who are just gullible enough to buy into the things he say, which isn't necessarily wrong. Man's gotta earn his bread somehow. But once he grows (or if he grows) up to be a big content creator, people will try to expose him. I don't think he'll be able to defend at all. Redemption arc isn't an option for worthy and he knows it.

      @@Rose-ng2zpokay the difference being he isn’t going around claiming to be a “Radiant Level Coach” like Woohoojin did. He just mentioned he did hit Radiant in Beta. It’s common sense the game has evolved so much since then which is why he doesn’t claim to be giving “Radiant level coaching”. But what does that have to do with coaching? Your rank doesn’t equal your coaching ability. That’s like expecting NBA coaches to of PLAYED in the NBA (which if you know nothing about, it’s actually the coaches who have played, who are the worst coaches, majority of coaches in the NBA have no pro basketball experience themselves) so who cares if he hasn’t actually hit radiant since then to coach? if you think it matters I can tell you know nothing about team sports lol. If you also think he’s just spewing BS and getting people to listen, you clearly aren’t paying attention. Every coach is different, no coach will always give you the same advice. it’s meant to be a different perspective and he’s more of a passive coach who prefers team play and team utility over individual play.
