    Hi just come across your video I have a Piaggio MP3 300 for same reason as yourself I commute 22mls round trip and trikes are perfect.
    Mine is an older MP3 thinking of an upgrade have looked at the Peugeot and your review has definitely helped.
    Cheers 😊

    I've been looking for a 3 wheeler on the same reasons you are mentioning. For commuting it's perfect, and you can go for a longer drive with it. It has Good space for things. The biggest factor for me is that you can use it in winter as well. Your videos kind of made me go for this one.

    Thanks for the video. Some interesting observations, and now you've got me thinking about a three wheeler again.

    Thanks for this info movie info. I was myself doubting between this metropolis Peugeot and Piaggio MP3 500. This convinces me more to buy a Peugeot. especially since the Piaggio has many problems with the front bearings.

    Congrads with your new bike! The Peugeot Metropolis is a good looking scooter. To bad you had to ditch the Yamaha Tricity. Also a great looking scooter (I know, I own one).
    The main problem with the Tricity is the lack of power. I looked at the other 3-wheelers, but they are to expensive or had to many problems. I also looked at the Quadro scooters, but the build quality is just below average.
    I suggested to the Yamaha dealer the option to use a big bore kit (180 to 200cc). To my surprise they reacted quite positive to my idea: "Great, let us know when you want to do that!". At this moment power is enough for the local roads I am using. So maybe next year the upgrade.
    I am also using also a modified Sony action cam. The mics (two of them for stereo sound) are connected to the camera with a custom made connector. I will post my camera setup pretty soon on my G+ or make a small youtube clip about it.

      Dutch Scooter Guy I have a Tricity as Well I think the appeal of the Yamaha over the Quadro is definitely because the quadro is an unknown quantity yet the Tricity and metropolis are well known respected brands

    Hi thanks for your video.
    I have watched a good few videos on both the Peugeot and the Piaggio.
    After a lot of reviewing I decided to go for a test ride on a Metropolis .
    In short, I smiled when I started the ride, I smiled while I was riding and I was still smiling when I stopped riding.
    So that helped me make my mind up.
    The Peugeot dealer is local to me so another plus factor.
    We now travel around the UK and Europe in a motorhome with the Metropolis on a transverse trailer. It is easy to load, easy to unload, easy to store, easy to ride, easy to lock up and leave.
    I previously had a big Suzuki 800 intruder, a cruiser bike which was great but so long and heavy.
    Now riding is much more about relaxing and taking the wife out with me. As you say the gap between the cockpit and the seat is really useful and much more user friendly (especially for the wife to get on and off).
    I also don't use my lock when going slow or stopping as I like to have my feet firmly planted on the floor.
    So, in short, thank you for your video it really help me in my searching.
    Here's to many more years safe riding.

    Great video, thanks
    I went with the piaggio mp3, cat say I regret it at all.
    it's true that at lower revs the mp3 is clunky, however it's very very stable at higher revs.
    i'd recommend anyone interested in getting a 3 wheeler to test ride the different brands as they all have their pros and cons and I don't think that one brand is better overall than another.
    thanks for the video!

    Hi, thanks for the videos. I've been considering this bike as I only have a full car licence. My concern is the insurance. Were you hit by bigger insurance because you didn't have the full bike licence? I used to have a Honda 125cc trial bike and it was great apart from when it was windy. Can you ride the Peugeot at 60mph comfortably with a strong head wind? Happy riding, Jim.

      @threewheeldiaries9965  Před 9 lety +1

      jimbrobb Hi Jim, The insurance cost me around £380, I have 9+ yrs no claims on my car (1 small claim made 3yrs ago no claims protected) - I envisage this will go down after the first year. The Peugeot will easily do 60 mph into a headwind. It is a heavy bike - which takes getting used to but helps in windy conditions.

    hi, have been riding cars and bikes for 30years however bike riding bigger bikes has now become difficult because of a shoulder injury which weakened it slightly ,this looks ideal for me just one thing with this front wheel system do you just lean and steer or do you still do a certain amount of counter steering at speed.? oh and what's top speed, mpg, and tank capacity. good video by the way.

    • @threewheeldiaries9965
      @threewheeldiaries9965  Před 8 lety +1

      Hi Jeffrey, you definitely counter steer as you would with a 2 wheel bike. The Metropolis feels different to the MP3 or Yourban - Their design is more complicated, but does feel lighter in the turn. You have to try both. For myself I felt the centre of gravity was lower on the Metropolis.. Also felt the foot placement far better. I can get up to 90 mph maybe a bit more but comfortable cruising 75-80..thanks Philip

    Hi
    Was wondering how your getting on with the Peugeot Metropolis. How do you find the steering now. I’ve recently brought one about a week ago. Brought a 14 plate RS. Found the steering very heavy and like you said on the video think you just have to trust the bike when leaning. I’ve heard people talking of learning to counter steer.
    Any advice would be appreciated
    Cheers

      tazmaniac73 - if you ride a bicycle then you will know what counter-steering is. There’s loads of videos on CZcams describing it. You definitely need to employ this when riding the Metropolis. A lot has happened since I posted this video. I’ve had my full bike license for nearly 2yrs now. So also ride a Suzuki Vstrom. Still ride the Metropolis over the winter months - have nearly 30,000 miles on her now.

    • @tazmaniac73
      @tazmaniac73 Před 5 lety

      Hi
      Thanks for that. Haven’t rode a bike for quite a few years now and they had only been 50cc scooters. So looked at these Peugeot metropolis and thought they seemed ideal for what I wanted. I didn’t want to take my bike test so this bike was ideal in bypassing that. I’ve been driving for 26 years so have enough road experience but not quite the bike experience apart from a few years of 50cc scooters.
      I brought a RS model and a few issues with a flat battery as it had only done 7000 miles on a 14 plate, so have now sorted that problem out and had a full health check at a local scooter centre. It’s all good now.
      So today I took it out for a 2 hr ride and loved every minute of it. It will take abit to get use to the roundabouts as I just need to start trusting the bike abit. Counter steering is definitely a must on these bikes, been doing a lot of practice and that today.
      It’s a lovely bike and I definitely made the right Choice in buying one after viewing your videos and other videos on here about the Peugeot metropolis.

      tazmaniac73 - you should definately buy a battery optimiser - especially if you don't ride regularly. It's a design fault of the keyless ignition - it's constantly searching for the key fob and runs down the battery. I plug my Metropolis in all the time and now never have an issue with flat batteries.

      Hi Phillip
      Thanks for the advice on charging. I’ve putting it on charge now every other day. Seems to running great now.
      Really love the bike and turns a lot of heads as it’s very rare and haven’t seen any around this area.
