Great Video Roy
Thank you
We drove to Holland last spring to pick up our swage block. Our 19 year old blacksmith was thrilled to tour the shop and look at their other anvils, swage blocks and ect. A great company, great employees, American made. We have several nice anvils, but he is saving up for one of thiers....just quality!! Highly recommend, and support your local business!
Bought an anvil from them. I plan on getting more. They seem to actually be cheaper for better quality and hardness than elsewhere. Shipping is very reasonable as well. I would love to drop in for a tour, but I live a state away and lack the time.
@@Volundur9567 we live in Ohio, it was a long day lol!
It sounds like you like their anvil! I've never used one of them, but I hear good things. What weight is it?
Can’t wait to see the dress up video. I have all three of their blocks and love them.
You probably sold more than one of these with this video...but I can say with great inside knowledge: you sold at least one. I ordered it immediately after watching your video. Thanks for pushing me over the line. I have been hemming and hawing over one of these for a long time.
I got one. Fantastic product. Great company. And as always a great video. Thank you for sharing.
Looking forward to the video where you dress that up! Thanks man!
Definitely looking forward to the dressing video. I relieved the edges on mine but, still need to do the spoon and bowl surfaces.
Oh it will be mine!
It’s definitely a nice swedge block but I bought mine from uncle buck and made a dishing bowl to have the pass through options
I ordered one on Sunday, it ship on Monday and I hope to have it by Thursday. I glad you commented on dressing it. I have two fold formed bowels waiting for it. I will smooth out the edges a little while I wait for your video about dressing it.
Thank you for the thorough review! I look forwards to getting me one of these! Take care
Beautiful pice or craftsmanship. Congratulations on your new tool / toy Roy. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On God Bless.
They ARE good blocks.
Holland Anvil offers free shipping for swage blocks, they do however charge shipping on anvils.
But their shipping is not bad. I would have paid more anywhere else.
I’m hopping to win one of those bad boys a couple Friday’s from now . I’ll be there !
I have that exact one, as well as the one with the shovels swages, and I love them both!
Love mine. I have the one with the drift holes in it. Has more utility for me. I use it just about every time I am in the shop. I use it for my hardy hole most of the time, it holds my bandsaw, as well as punching and drifting.I love this tool.
I will certainly keep Greg in mind when I next decide to change things up in my style of work. Currently I make do with random things I've fashioned into needed shapes. I'm curious though, you said that the often sought after 60° V is useful when squaring material. If you have the time can you elaborate on that or direct me to a video source. I don't understand how that works out. Not saying it wouldn't, I would just like to see that in practice
I believe a 60 degree V would be for making triangles.
@@NeilGraham.I.M.F Also used by Brian Brazeal for rounding, very effectively. You wouldn't think it would work, but it really does.
Yep
Thank you to you and Holland, great swage blocks.
I bought a few things from Holland, including an anvil. Shipped super fast. Still getting to dressing the anvil, so no opinion on use yet.
That heart can be made into an oil burner or wax melter.
Wow would love one of those
I bought the 3 pack a while back. I would add my endorsement to these blocks
Love to win one Roy, but like last years anvils I doubt you would be pleased if I won and have to freight it to OZ! Thanks for the giveaway anyway, Im sure the winners will love them!
I’m strongly considering buying the 3 pack eventually. They are a great value!
You have a winning workhorse there, Roy!
Very informative. I own one but havnt had the chance to use it. I have often wondered about its quality.
I got one for Xmas- the 11 inch one. Would love to learn how to dress it.
That will be coming soon!
Thanks Roy! Now if I can only win one!!!
Cool I like it....
9/10 Roy's?
Roy's Official CZcams endorsement
hmmmm.. is Cast iron magnetic? Set the swage on the magnetic plate and then put you blank on the swage and it holds it while you hit it. :)
I believe the word you were looking for on the edges and angles is acute
I'd love to be in the running for one of those, but I just don't have the time to commit to long livestreams.
I definitely love my swage block from Holland Anvil. I've got lots of use out of it!
Curious what type of stand would work best for the block ?
Im really liken the 66lb holland i have, should have bought it when I first discovered them instead of waiting so long. One of these 50 lb is on my list for sure
Are the giveaways being shipping overseas?? If one should win ;)
2nd!
Roy blowing in a depression is a real danger for eye injuries and being hot not a good idea
I believe he wears safety glasses when forging.
