On August 28, 2018, PewDiePie uploaded "THIS CHANNEL WILL OVERTAKE PEWDIEPIE!", challenging T-Series to compete for Most Subscribed channel. The war kept on going for months, with many promotions on both PewDiePie's and T-Series' sides, but everything always comes to an end. After a few months of battling, on April 14, 2019, T-Series overtakes PewDiePie for the last time, and hits 100 million on May 29, 2019. PewDiePie hit 100 million on August 24, 2019. By PewDiePie hitting 100,000,000 subscribers, the entire subscriber war comes to an end.
