that tune was meant for degradation trip and it totally sounds like DTrip. I think it was Layne who pushed for the guys to record it for the music bank compilation. Jerry has stated that the tune doesnt "sound like Alice" and that he would have added more layers to it if meant for a proper Alice album. It is almost in demo shape as we know it
@@the92project Thats cool to know. I heard died was about laynes girlfriend Demri. But its quite a upbeat tune for a.i.c. So im not sure. Thanks for the info. I love hearing things like that.
I play it significantly differently especially the chorus part.. Actually I keep it in standard (non drop D) ½ step down tuning and my chorus sounds much closer than yours although theres a chord that you play during the verse that sounds closer than mine, so.. Yeah I should upload what I'm referring to but my guitar is in hawk right now so.. If I remember when I get it out I'll come back here or if you want to respond to this comment in about 15 days or so I'll be sure to put mine up on here for compare and contrast
Currently learning A Looking In View on bass and it's such a banger of a song! I think most of their new stuff is overlooked by people unwilling to give William a chance
@@the92project which is ridiculous because Jerry and the other guys started the band and basically begged Layne to join. It's as much Jerry and Sean's band as it was Layne's, but people overlook that fact.
there is a Layne cult now, those people are the ones confusing the band with Layne. Fine if they dont want to hear the new music. There will always be cozy memories of the 90s for them to enjoy :) I choose to live in 2020
@@the92project I obviously love the Layne era music but the band didn't end with him and it's pretty disrespectful to the rest of the guys to dismiss them because Layne is gone. Their new stuff is KILLER!! Oh well, if they don't like it, more for me!! 😂👌🏻
Saw your last AiC video yesterday and think it’s fantastic you listen to your comments and implement them as you see fit! Big AiC fan and although I’m sad not a whole lot of the older songs made it, it was still a great video!
Thanks for that comment! Not a lot of older songs are "overlooked" imo. Take Dirt for example, that entire album is mega classic. I'll find a way to include more of those songs with a different theme I guess. 5 "overplayed" AIC tunes😂
@@the92project Sorry for the late reply but I see what you’re saying. Dirt is definitely a highlighted album in the AiC vault, but I feel Facelift, the self titled album, and even Music Bank “Lying Seasons” and aforementioned in another comment “Died” don’t get the contextual mega riff love. To each their own I suppose but always nice to talk another fan, stay shredding 🤟
I agree it does, have in mind though that Jerry's writing is HUGELY influenced by black sabath. I always think of AIC as ACDC and black sabath having a baby😁
I love your channel. You have as much respect for their new stuff as the old, and I love it. I think you might be a bigger Jerry Cantrell fan than me ;)
Thanks for the nice comment. Yes I value their new stuff as much as the old if not more. We all change and I'm glad they allow themselves to get older and wiser and be honest about it. Rather than doing Dirt 5 times over
@@the92project you make me want to try and learn again. I played for a few years when I was younger but never really got any good. These videos are inspiring!
This is a La Grange Wheel, master-built to order. It is freaking amazing nice and worth every penny they charge, a lot of pennies though :( lagrange.guitars/guitars/modelthewheel/
definitely LPj inspired but you could build it with two HB or one HB on the bridge and one P90 on the neck or really whatever combo youd like. Thats the beauty of custom ordered. The neck is also made to my specs. The price is high but honestly this guitar is at the level of construction you only find on historic reissue gibsons or custom PRSs or Collings, and those go for 6-9k.
Make sure to check out Eastman guitars, they have a couple of LPj models with p90. I just got an SB59 and im blown away, tremendous quality for the money, im actually shocked. Im sure their LPj models are amazing as well and they are priced fairly accessible.

The right p90+guitar combo will do that. It's thick and unruly, not soft and refined on the edges like a humbucker. Jerry has used a p90 Gibson SG in the last three records, there is always a p90 there along with HB.
"Died" has such a cool riff. Never gets old.💥👍

Ah, yes, Red Giant. Love, how vocals combine with damn heavy riffs in that one.
Red Giant is amazing!

True! The album that made me a fanatic! And that started this channel
The '92 Project yeah, and the main riff of the song is killer too. you should definitely put it in Part 3

They are all Black Sabbath's children 😁
Ok.... So, I've now subscribed. As soon as I heard Died.... it was over! Haha!

Absolutely criminal that 'Died' was a B-side. One the best riffs off all time and it didn't make the cut!

Hey where can i buy your tabs to died? or which tabs did you use? the way you play it sounds amazing compared to the way i do.
I put these tabs together a few years back czcams.com/video/aTXg0zixRUM/video.html. It definitely follows Jerry's version but I add my own twist too
