Summer Steaming with the Glenbrook Vintage Railway - Ww644

In the summer of 2023/2024, vintage steam locomotive Ww644 hauled the Glenbrook Vintage Railway's "Steam Train Experience". This journey runs from Glenbrook Station to Waiuku (Victoria Avenue) and return, and is approximately 1 hour long.
We capture Ww644 in action along the old Waiuku Branch line, attacking the steep grades, featuring a special onboard view from the fireman's window.

Have ridden on the foot plate of that railway, not necessary that loco, but was a great experience. That was 17years a go.

I spent a lot of time at the GVR in my teenage years until I moved away. Was there for the Glenbrook Station opening and the 40 year anniversary. Pleased to see the progress over time especially with the mainline certification of Ww 644 and training of Kiwirail LEs in steam loco's.
