- UPDATE 11/30/15: This portion of the Foxwoods complex is no longer under the "MGM Grand" name. In 2013, the MGM brand was dropped, and this portion was renamed "The Fox Tower." The "MGM" name is still present in the video/description as this was the branding at the time the video was filmed back in 2012. Additionally, here's a much better video I made of this elevator:
• GROWLING OTIS 211 Hydr...
The elevator continues to make the loud noise on upward travel. I don't suspect that this is an oil related issue as I had thought. It could very well be some air getting into the hydraulic system.
Well, here's my scheduled upload for the day.
One thing I will stress to everyone is that you cannot expect every elevator to be traction. However, considering most of the elevators in this entire complex are traction, it would be nice to have a little consistency (hence why I put "slap in the face.")
This elevator is low on oil, creating that awful rumbling noise while going up. This makes it a "death trap." On the down trip, it's obviously fine...
However, the cab is nice, matching with the rest of the cabs in the complex. It is rather strange how they included external lanterns while they have internal Series 1 lanterns.
Oh, there ARE escalators adjacent to this elevator. However, considering they face the gaming area and photography of a gaming area is banned (plus a guard right in front of the escalators), I intentionally left those out (they have a GOOD reason to ban photos of a gaming area, unlike a mall's excuse on photography banning. The rest of the place is photographer friendly). They look just like the other escalators in this building anyways, so no loss there. :D

I did not get to film this one, but I will go there soon and i'll make sure I record it.
I just went on this elevator the other day, and it is still very loud.
NO PAUL TODAY
this motor is horrible.
(Elevators From Israel by Itzik200 (Renewed and Rebuilt Not the best motor I have heard. The rumbly noise could be some air going into somewhere it shouldn't be going. Oddly enough, I don't remember it running too differently compared to a typical hydraulic elevator.
***** That elevator's not that crappy. In fact, (1) It's super fast for a hydraulic, it's "trac-draulic", and (2) at least the motor doesent sounds like it's gunna explode when the elevator starts leveling. But anyways that's really good for a hydraulic. At least you know you're moving! Most of the hydraulic elevators I've been on I couldn't tell, and the motors were super quiet. And I've been on COUNTLESS hydraulic elevators before, including the ones at my local hospital.
Now that I think about it, it's not THAT bad of a hydro, unlike how I made it out to be.
yep the motor is not horrible at all. In fact, I feel this one can stay hydraulic since it's as fast as traction!
