Tupai and Kobayashi are the ONLY candidates I'll even consider.
    The other two are sellouts.

I think it was pretty clear at the end of this debate who the best candidate is. That person is Dr. C. Kimo. 🤙🤙 Alameda

With all the nonsense in politics, let's just be happy we could have a constructive and honest forum to pick our mayor. Congrats to all of the candidates.

This administration is handing jurisdiction over to state of Hawaii. County jurisdiction is and shall always be the strongest jurisdiction in Hawaii

    Mahalo PBS, excellent job!
I was impressed with every candidate. I think whoever the County of Hawaii chooses, we will be in good hands. However, personally, I gotta go with Kimo, I have known Kimo since he started dating my sister Star in high school as seniors who he later married. Over the years I have always known Kimo to be a good man, a family man, good provider, inspired leader, and man of God.

I disagree. Alameda is a sellout. Both him and Mitch Roth will support big business over the people's desires.

I really appreciate how she made it heavily known that the people will be heard. Tupai did as well. Alameda and our current mayor did not.

I am very impressed with Dr. Kimo Alameda. I am not only impressed with his education, experience, and overall credentials but im also impressed that he's a part-hawaiian born and raised local boy that has the best understanding for the needs of the local people. He is my #1 choice. If the people disagrees I will absolutely support the candidate against Roth. Mitch needs to go!

I don't agree at all. He's well researched on how to sway the people but in the end he's a sellout like Mitch Roth.

Tupai and Bree are my only considerations. The other two are sellouts to corporations and billionares and neither said they would support the people over money.

@@lionmanahawaii Thanks for your response. I really don't keep up that much with what he's done. I live Hilo side, and I do like that many of the roads in town have been resurfaced, which was badly needed. I also like the homeless tents in downtown that have been put up to give them some reprieve from the elements, bathrooms to use, etc. My impression of him is generally positive. There's always more to do, though . . .

Why is Oahu not given the opportunity for public dialogue too? Oahu has a population of about 1 million with pressing issues like the Rail, escalating property taxes and fees, crime, homeless, housing, tourism, and so forth.
