- In his breakout session at TGC23, Michael Kruger argues that doubt is a natural part of growing faith and can lead to stronger beliefs if handled with biblical and wise guidance. He offers suggestions for how Christians can confront and process doubts about their faith, especially in a modern, skeptical time. He calls the church to be a supportive environment that neither shames nor celebrates doubt but rather encourages constructive dialogue. This session provides hope and guidance for believers grappling with their uncertainties and those who come alongside them.

This is good, esp in these relentlessly conflicting n laid back times ...tks for this effort.
A very helpful beginning. But the solutions tend to focus on Theological Doubts. My experience is most people ‘Doubt their salvation because “I should be perfect and my doubting is blaspheming the Holy Spirit!” That kind of doubting is difficult to share because we are ashamed to admit it.
I understand. But that kind of doubt is also answered by sound theology. It's clear from the Bible that no one will be perfected in this life. We will be continually conformed into the image of Christ until we die.
Doubting is NOT blasphemy.
Good theology is an answer to some kinds of doubt but he mentions different types and I think he is right. My reminder is answering anxious doubt is not theological.

You specifically mentioned "I should be perfect." That's poor theology. So sound theology should help correct that doubter.
And yes, It's also possible that the person who says that may be the kind of person who worries about everything, as he said in the video.
@@kurtgundy I agree theologically. But people raised on the KJV who suppress anger for decades have the anger erupting after tears of ‘Trying Harder’ so ‘ A man convinced his will is of the same opinion still’ and will be disabled with compulsive thoughts and awful dreams. I wish we could convince ‘perfect’ means mature not live above sins. I rarely meet a person that understands why he or she has Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTs).
Calvinism causes doubt. “What if I think I am elect but i am not?” That’s the issue.
Arminianism causes doubt. God makes a lot of amazing promises in the Bible. Promises that have failed, for the Arminian.
@@kurtgundyindeed. Arminians have more doubt than Calvinists

Of course. I would have lost my salvation many times over if I did not believe in my Sovereign God's promise to keep me.
