Loved the post-credits sequence where an off-screen voice says “Black Adam, I’ve come to stop you” and he turns around and it’s the Nostalgia Critic
Lol
😂😭 ngl would be killer!🙌🏻
And then we would hear his theme all slowed down to seem more epic as he shoot black Adam with the nostalgia critic signature pistol😅
And all the female characters run and hide.
Nostalgia Critic has become a nostalgia himself.
There was a disappointing lack of Turkish Airlines in this film. I miss Snyder now more than ever.
😂
There were Lay’s chips, though!
We need Turkish Airlines to show that this story is grounded in our world!
But how we gonna know its realistic now without turkish airlines ?😭
release the drone
'I don't know. Does it matter?' sums up the genre ever since Endgame. Some are good some are bad but all are forgotten in a couple of months.
I doubt No Way Home will be forgotten. The rest though... hard to argue.
The out liers will always stick around. No way home, shang chi are amazing and ms marvel was awesome
@@Sugarman96 I mean, I really liked NWH and I don’t think about it anymore
@@Sugarman96 Dude I gotta be honest here, but No Way Home was just kinda """forgettable""" aside from a few fun scenes. The acting was fine and the story was an interesting concept, but its overall execution just felt like "Tom Holland's Spider-Man featuring Tobie and Andrew" rather than a genuine work together to stop and greater evil plot. I even argue Into The Spiderverse still gets talked about more that most modern MCU content. But that's just me.
@@roguevirgo902 Meh
You have to admit though, it was very brave of them to make this without using any CGI throughout the entire film. Gotta hand it to the production team for the incredible practical effects and stunts.
That is exactly what I love about most modern day blockbusters and especially superhero flicks. Great practical effects and good old stunt work. VFX artists just love Marvel for this (do they love DC as well?)
Sure as hell beats She-Hulk Twerking and Axl's head in Love and Thunder.
What? Is this a joke?
@@kotasake what are you talking about? we are serious.
@@piratexander whose we? You weren't in the convo, I'm do you guys seriously think this was made without cgi or am I missing something
Black Adam has a lot of slow mo that Zack Snyder would be proud.
All the scenes with the slow Mo fighting reminded me of Sherlock Holmes so much it got distracting
It sucks that a lot of these movies just bleed together. They’re just okay for me.
That's a good way to describe it.
An example: Depending on your mood. You could watch many different mcu films for different results.
But the DC films are so similarly toned that I have to be in the same mood to enjoy any of them.
Basically, I'm either in the mood to watch a DC film or I'm not, no in-between because big their tone choices.
Maybe that's just me. Because I can only think of one DC film that breaks that tone. Shazam.
@@Ta2dwitetrash The Suicide Squad too probably
Fun fact Dr Fate was actually made before Dr Strange but people will say that Dr Fate is the rip-off because Dr Strange got popular in the mainstream first
and easily clears Strange too
Why isn't anyone pointing that the villain of black Adam is jafar from aladin, he is played by the same actor, he is searching for a mgic item in a cave and he Turns into a red demon, what the hell DC.
that actor was SO BAD. he cant play villains and when he does they're terrible
oh, I thought you meant - the one from Animated One
now it came to mind that its from 2019 you can all just cringe at that
I really don’t mind dark or violent superhero/villain movies, as long as it serves a purpose and/or gives a new meaning to the story. Best (and most basic) example: Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies.
Other than TDK - I wouldn’t describe Nolan’s Batman series as THAT violent tbh
@@firstlast9846 not even the Dark Knight. It's great and all and it shows that you can take these directions but it's not that dark.
@@firstlast9846 Some of the violence in TDKR was brutal.
Or if it’s deliberately ultra violent because the comic book was aimed toward a more mature audience (e.g., Kick-Ass).
@@TheWelchProductions Quite agree but I also feel it's simply because Christopher Nolan is a better action director by then.
It's funny to think when the Rock initially signed the contract to play this character he still had his hair
Y'know, the vegeta hair, like Black Adam usually has
Yeah this one was the definition of a mixed bag. Cyclone didn’t get to do ANYTHING. Sad.
she has such a powerful ability too and an interesting character! its a shame she was done dirty by the film. hope we get to see her again in a spinoff series or something
Mediocrity is the norm for the DCEU. The Rock is horribly miscast. He's too nice and charismatic to be a villain.
*Mediocrity is the norm for superhero / comic book movies
@@firstlast9846 Bingo
Nah man he’s had some pretty good villain roles. After all he was known for being a bad guy in the WWF.
@@baigmen so ? its fckin WWE dude not cinema
Too bad Black Adam isn’t a villain and actually more of an anti hero
keep in mind: Warner Bros. Discovery hinged everything on this film.
God they're stupid.
they hinged everything on a BLACK ADAM FILM of ALL THINGS ? ? ?? jesus fucking christ. that's why they put the jsa in it bc no one would've bought tickets otherwise
Warner bros discovery is in such a terrible place financially too with the absolutely INSANE amount of debt they have with Warner Bros.
I mean I’m sure the film will still be a financial success overseas. It has Dwayne Johnson and Pierce Brosnan in it. But I don’t think many will think it’s a good story
@@CoOlKyUbI96 They took on 70 BILLION DOLLARS in debt to purchase WB
It better do *real well* overseas
@@mitchellhorton9382 well I’m sure it will. Most likely not $70 billion since that is very impractical for any film to make that much. At least not without multiple re releases. But I’m sure it’ll definitely help towards its debt
Agreed with everything you said. It's just dull. I will say though Black Adam killing people is actually normal and true to the character lol so I'm glad they leaned into that even though they are trying to convince you he's a hero by the end.
Personally the issue is less about Black Adam killing people but how the film frames that aspect of the character
@@RaphaelMYT yeah if hes not slaughtering villages and/or entire nations is it even a black adam story?
The post credit scene was better than Thor love and thunder
Is this your normal reaction to seeing hunky, muscular men in tight clothing?
@Mazzy it’s true
@@johnl6192 yes
There are many, many, many, many things better than Thor: Love & Thunder.
OH MY gOD!! I pissed and shidded when superman walked in and said ITS SUPeR TIME1!1!1!1! And black Adam said heh…looks like I’m gonna have to fight you in black Adam 2: the return of black Adam….
It's Ralphin' Time
Glad to see Ralph's beaten his depression arc and is back to making content
yh that 3 minute content
⚠️SPOILER⚠️
I literally laughed out loud when they showed Dwayne Johnson's head CGI imposed onto a normal-sized person's body. It looked so out of place that I couldn't contain myself long enough to avoid bursting out laughing.
even that "normal-sized person's body" would be considered buff, but it looked so dumb with dwayne's head, it was hilarious
Love the consistency, Ralph! Thanks for all the work!
I liked Shazam a lot more, idk it really surprised me how much fun I had seeing it
well the tone of that film and the story fit the character. there was no assassination of the source material
I treat your reviews like DC fans treat these films: I know they're good before I've even seen it.
True.. but that’s pretty much the case for all fan bases.. especially with comic book movies
Dc gotta stick with animated movies and their stand alone films.
All the best dc movies aren't connected to the dceu.
Kindof a depressing analogy if you're considering how much Ralph isn't doing too great (still good, I know) with CZcams overall anymore.
This was the morbius of 2022, oh wait
Feels like Morbius came out forever ago
@@kevinrafti3484 word lol
It's better than Batman v Superman? That's enough for me i am watching it . I should take my uncle and grandpa they will eat it up.
I liked when Black Adam asked the guy what his name was, then when he started to ans-"IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS!"
I find it funny the way people are getting mad at people’s reaction to the post credit scene. They’re like “oh they’re overreacting” it’s like bruh that’s what they want you to do. It’s marketed in a way that’s supposed to be so exciting yet it lacks so much.
Was expecting a longer video but it was straight to the point, not bad friend
I feel like this is the Morbius of movies that actually makes money
I don't get how Dwayne doesn't understand what he's good at
The best part was when Dwayne said: "It's Black Adamin' time" and committed some more casual crimes
my favorite part in your life was when that car said "it's car accident time" and it killed your entire family in that car accident
@@yopwor most sane DC fan
This joke is becoming overused real fast.
Wow, you need to come up with something new already
When he tossed that dude and said "Up and ADAM", I felt that.
the hierarchy of power in the Ralph universe is about the change
Good to see some reviews, keep it up.
“Bad DC movies” is redundant. Them being bad is implied, you can just say “DC movies”
Anyone else catch that Ralph has been watching edgerunners in this review: “Adam Smasher”
yeah he called The Atom, "Adam Smasher" which probably was an intentional joke because the movies about Black Adam
..or played the game.
Thank you, Ralph, for all the content lately!
Love you Ralph smooch
The way he talked about it I expected a 1/5
Black Adam is a Shazam villain and a Superman villain
Atom Smasher was created a good ten years before Deadpool.
he means the design and the fact that hes the comedic relief, genius
@@jimmyneutronboypenis6970 Not only that, but DC has been so late to adapt their characters that the average moviegoer is much more familiar with Marvel characters at this point
@@jimmyneutronboypenis6970 his design has always looked like that doofus
@@jimmyneutronboypenis6970 it's overhyped trash .
@@adriantheabstract Yeah sure. That completely misses the point of my comment where I also said hes the comedic relief. Combine that with the fact that people dont know Atom Smasher but know Deadpool, they are going to compare the 2
Was anybody clamoring for Hawk Man? Hell, Hawk Woman has been the more popular character for decades since her appearance in the Justice League cartoon series.
It’s better than BvS, but it’s worse than Man of Steel. I don’t hate Man of Steel, but it’s one of those movies where it would be bad if it were any worse than it was. And this was SO. MUCH. WORSE.
In my Letterboxd review (not to plug myself), I probably spent more time talking about Hellboy than Black Adam because I just had so little to say.
Mos was dogfood
I’m surprised Ralph didn’t mention the child acting
he shouldn't have made it so short because there's a lot more to address
Glad someone else noticed that 😅 the level of exposition and literally spelling everything out for the audience over and over again. The country exploits the natural resources, foreign powers invade, the will of the people are suppressed, Hawkguy doesn't like Black Adam because he kills people, Atom Smasher likes eating. It feels like a film that only has so much to say for itself and it is so shallow.
And all of this overshadows the fact Black Adam could speak perfect English even though he has been imprisoned for 5k years and despite this doesn't understand what a TV or a mirror is.
It felt like the lines from the kid were dubbed over, and he was trying so hard to be “funny” it was painful. Also how the fuck do a bunch of humans stand a chance against an army of demons?
@@khaeugriefshade6456 there’s an agenda here
Black Adam and the rock couldn't have more opposite personalities
idk man the scene with black adam wrecking shit while power by kanye west plays was probably the peak of human evolution
I really like the fisheye on dwayne johnson. I think they shouldve used it in every fight scene
black adam is a villian who also plays nice and helps the good guys sometimes
Are you going to review The Banshees Of Inisherin?
Ralph learned the word levity
Omni Man is a great example of a character pretending to be a hero and likeable. And being a scary violent villain 😳
That’s Pierce Brosnan? He looks like a mix between Jeff Bridges and George Lucas!
I can't for the conspiracy that Ralph is working with Marvel to destroy DC and Zack Synder and Etc or whatever
Hearing ‘Atom Smasher’ triggered my hatred.
Ralph reviews Edge Runners when?
I couldn’t agree more
Action was cool at least. Dr fate was awesome. Yay?
Ralph, can we get some more Steven Seagal gold?
Ralph slowly turning into another YMS
I scream-laughed when "the world is a vampire" happened.

Wait I just realized there are not that jet scene with black Adam.
This is definitely one of the reviews of all time. Short and simple.
How original
Wow how original, such a funny comment that hasn’t ever been done before, how clever!
Black Adam is a villain in the comics, hence why he’s so brutal probably
His story in 52 was so tragic.
he shouldve stayed a villain instead of them trying to sell to us that he's an aNtI-hErO
The entire first 30 minutes felt like a deleted scene from 300.
Yo can u please do an og review of both the Percy Jackson’s
Yeeeeeeessssssss
The trailer makes the film seem predictable, in that they're presenting a character that other characters will try to convince to become a good person. I've seen enough movies do this that the mere suggestion that this could happen IMMEDIATELY casts doubts on the film being different or interesting.
Is this the case with this film? Someone please tell me if this is the case.
the batman conveyed the complexities of morality and the difference b/w justice and vengeance better than this one did
I can't do 2 1/2 hour movies anymore.
Hawkman done dirty once again
how? i thought he was great
done dirty? why?
But Ralph. You don’t understand. The hierarchy of DC has changed!!!…or something. I don’t know.
Do a video on 'the lighthouse' pleeeaaase
Here's an idea for a film called Blackadder starring Rowan Atkinson in which he stars as his ancestors in different time periods in English history.
"It's better than the 4 worst DCEU movies"
the bar isnt very high
Aquaman was better
The CGI was really really good
The only reason this film exists is because Dwayne Johnson plays black Adam. I can think of like 4 DC characters not in the public consciousness off the top of my head that could have used a film far better then black Adam.
DC and Marvel’s approach to films perfectly echoes their approach to comics. DC constantly throwing everything at the wall with some mild and major success but no true level of cohesion. While Marvel, has always kinda been the awkward child when they get their ducks in a row they’re unmatched. They’ve had plenty of missteps but at least they care enough about continuity. DC could honestly care less.
Absolutely
*Doctor Fate is like Marvel's Doctor Strange"
I knew someone was going to Say this even though Fate is a much much older character
it's annoying because dr. strange is a COPY OF FATE and yet the film failed to portray his powers the way they are in the comics (VISUALLY UNIQUE).
I mean it’s a natural comparison in terms of the cinematic universes, not a lot of magic users on screen yet
can you review terrifier and/or terrifier 2?
that shot of the kid skating around the corner with the 'army' of townspeople behind him is the dumbest shot I've seen in all of the MCU
He's not even black. 1/5
He's half black
“this script is kinda shit and boring”
Hollywood:
“Did you try putting the rock in it?”
It’s Black Ad⚡️m’ time
Curious what you think about Avatar 2
I watched it today in the cinemas
Yeah I don’t have to see this thanks Ralph
Wait....i'm pretty sure he is connected to the DCEU.
The one and only DCEU Superman literally appears in this very film lol
Dc’s morbius
Loads of fun!
Damn a 2 out of five is pretty generous of you
yay superhero
He hade to wait 15 years for them to make enough money not cause he was born to play it
Thoughts on Shazam?
It's okay ralph you can jusy call it piece of shit this was being generous
this film is an HRT ad
I liked it, I know it was a mess though.
Pierce Brosnan was great and I like the fact Dwayne Johnson didnt act how he normally does.
Black Adam is Shazam’s rival. He was the first champion The Wizard choose before choosing Billy.
where's the rest of the video?
Dwayne Johnson not playing Dwayne Johnson for the 100th time is a bad thing?
I’d say it was fine I’ve seen worst capeshit (fant4stic) i think Dwayne worked on a visual level even if his stoic acting isn’t the best some of the acting in general was pretty ehuuuh 😑 in general I think the JSA was fairly fun probably the best part actually
That's why The Batman 2022 is the best stuff DC has put out in 7 years.
