    Meaning of these mantras:
    [1] *Pitru Pinda Mantra*: O my Father. This food is full of juice and waves of the Swadha ocean. Don’t think it is small in size. This is equivalent to the size of Agni and Earth (Prithivi). I am submitting this food to that extent. How the Agni is undiminishing and undestructable in nature, O Food, you also be opulent and indestructable to my Father. O my Father you eat this Havis along with Agni God. O Food, Rig Veda is your Glory.
    [2] *Pitamaha Pinda Mantra*: O my Grand Father. This food is full of juice and waves of the Swadha ocean. Don’t think it is small in size. This is equivalent to the size of Agni and Earth (Prithivi). I am submitting this food to that extent. How the Agni is undiminishing and undestructable in nature, O Food, you also be opulent and indestructable to my Grand Father. O my Grand Father you eat this Havis along with Agni God. O Food, Sama Veda is your Glory.
    [3] *Pra Pitamaha Pinda Mantra*: O my Great Grand Father. This food is full of juice and waves of the Swadha ocean. Don’t think it is small in size. This is equivalent to the size of Agni and Earth (Prithivi). I am submitting this food to that extent. How the Agni is undiminishing and undestructable in nature, O Food, you also be opulent and indestructable to my Grand Father. O my Great Grand Father you eat this Havis along with Agni God. O Food, Yajur Veda is your Glory.
    [4] *Akshanna*: Pitrus have eaten the Havis. They are very happy. They noded their head and other limbs with love. The brahmins were satisfied with this meal and blessed us with full heart. O Indra, your horses are locked in your ratha.
    [5] *Ye agni dagddha*: Those ancestors who were cremated through fire (Agni) and those who were not cremated by fire, those who born in my Race and attained this highest position of Pitrus - let them be satisfied with this Pinda (rice ball) placed in the Earth and attain the highest position in this World. Let this Vaayasa Pinda satisfy all my Pitrus, mentioned earlier.
    [6] *Vaaje vaaje*: O Horses, please protect us with opulent food and immense wealth and income. O Devas (God) you are sacred like brahmins (by taking bath), death free, without strains, you know the route to the final destination. Please drink the juce of Neevaara food equivalent to Madhu before and after running. Be happy after you drink. Be satisfied while you are going to the Deva Loka.
    [7] *Ashta vashtau*: Keep eight items in a stage (Dhishni), so that he get cows having 8 cow pens. To establish 6 water tanks. Rtus (seasons) are 6. Devas and Pitrus are in the nature of seasons. I am satisfying the Devas and Pitrus.
    [8] Bruhat saama: Let the "Bruhat" Saama Gaana joined with Tritup Chandas protect us, by applying the "Ash" in the body. This improves the matured masculinity, improves the strength and gives strong children. O Lord Indra, please protect our body, which is in between past and future, with your "Stoma" called "Panchadasa" and Wind called "Sagara".
    [9] O, Pitrus associated with Soma Devata, please give us excellent offspring with long life as per the best path laid down by our ancestors. Please come here with the best wishes to grant us hundred years of life.
    [10] These Darbas are cut at one shot and are as soft as cotton and gives pleasure. I am spreading these Darba for my Pitrus. Let my Father, Grand father and Great grand father come here with their servants and sit here.
    [11] The ordered old and new men by God Yama spread across in this earth. Please go away from this place. God Yama has given this Earth to Yajama and Pitrus.

    [12] Those Asuras, Rakshasas and Pishachas are living with the help of this Earth, please go away from here to those places of your desire.
    [13] Pitrus are in higher, middle and lower levels. They are coming here to protect us with a smiling face. Whenever we call them, they are coming here to bless and protect us by accepting our offering.
    [14] Pitrus with names Angiras, Atharva and Bruhu seems to create desire in us some times. They are qualified to take Soma rasa in the Yajna. Let us be in their path. Further let us involve in best practice associated with our life, always.
    [15] Our Pithrus have travelling speed equal to the speed of our mind. They are Agnishvaataa: (not performed Yajnas). Let them take the route which Devas use to travel. Let them be satisfied with the offering we give in this Yajna and protect us.
    [16] O Strength giving Waters: You be as Amruta, ghee, milk and food to our Pitus, wherever, however they are and satisfy them fully.
    [17] By offering this Havis along with the sacred sound "Svadha" my deceased Father is greatly satisfied. My salutation to Him. In the same way, my Grand father and Great grand father is satisfied and purified. O Pitrus, You be purified and protect us.
    [18] I may not know, in which place, in which form my Pitrus are living in this world or may not have the knowledge about them. But O God Agni, you know about them. Then you take this offering and convert it in such a way to suit them as food and they be satisfied.
    [19] I want to reach Moksha. let this wind give me pleasure. Let these rivers gives me water to strengthen my health. Let these grains be tasteful to me.
    [20] Being a student, let this day and night be pleasant. Let the place I sit and sleep be without any thorns. Let me get the highest post equal to my Father. Let me not get any cloud burst rain or untoward event in my life.
    [21] Let the fruit giving trees provide us good fruits to live. Let the Sun give us modest heat to protect us. Let the cows give us milk to survive.
    [22] Let the knowledge of the Vedas and shastras come to me. Let the knowledge and wealth of the boundless forms of earth and heaven come to me. I am getting the blessings of my Father and Mother, and their seniors. Let the secrets of Soma herb with the gift of health and longevity come to me.
    [23] O Pitrus, my salutations to your food products like Milk. My Salutation to your Strength. My Salutation to your Jeevatma. My Salutation to your beloved "Svadha" Devi. My Salutation to your Anger. My Salutation to your cruel deeds. My Salutation to my Pitrus in this world. Let the other Pitrus follow my Pitrus. When my Pitrus lived along with other Pitrus in this world earlier, let my Pitrus be good friend of them. Let me be a good friend to others in this world with my Pitrus blessings.
    Swaadushagum - Vedic Chant Meaning
    [1] *Power of Fathers*: The fathers (Pitara:) who are very powerful (Shakteevanta:) with profound (Gabheera:) mind, reside in pleasurable places (Svaadusham), bestowing strength (Vayodha:) to us at difficult situations. They are always unbeatable (Amrudhra:) by enemies because, they are with wide-range of hosts (Citrasena:) consists of real heroes (Sadoveera:) who conquered (Urava:) many hosts (Vraatasaaha:) in the past, supported by powerful arrows (Ishubala:).
    [2] *Blessings for protection*: Let the Brahmins, father and people deserving Soma (Divine drink) bless us, for our protection. Let the un-menaced (Anehasaa) heaven and earth (Dyaavaa Prutivee) be auspicious (Shive) to us. May Pooshan, the guardian of truth (Ruta Vrudha:) protect us from misfortune. You protect me. Let us be unbeatable by any foes.
    [3] *Feather*: A feather (Suparnam) is her garment (Vaste) and a deer (Mruga:) is her tooth (Danta:). She is tied (Sam naddha) with cow, but when shot, she flies (Patati) . Where (Yatra) men (Nara:) run together and apart, let the arrows grant us safety there. Here "she/her" refers to "arrows".

    I’ve never heard about Pitru Paksha before.. studying Jyotish and find out I am Leo in Magha nakshatra which is the only one representing our ancestors… so interesting!     Simply superb sir, I have been doing 4 srardhams iin a year (maathaa mahar, mathaamahi, mother and father) and was not taught to chant like this all these years.. Listening to these manthraas in the iriginal swaras has a soothing experience, esoecially during mahalayabpaksha.     Sir can I get a answer for the question.last month 15 August my dad's brother passed away and we are joint family live in different portions so some say to leave the house for 45 days we got Santi but 25 sep my parents his brothers need to do pitrupuja it's been 15 days the left home.Now can they do Tarpanam to their parent means to my grand parents but not to him( my dads brother my big dad)some are saying we need to wait for 1year to give tarpanam we don't want to miss this year plz reply sir we just have 5 more days left.waiting for you reply sir
