  • Polymer clay covered vase tutorial. In this project I doodle with polymer clay.
    materials used:
    -Vase (any size-the bigger the vase the more clay you'll need.)
    -Various sizes of styluses (these are Martha Stewart's brand)
    -Clay (amount varies depending on the size of the vase. This project used up approx. ¼ lb.)
    -Any other household item you can find to make great texture. NOTE: Do NOT use items that are used for food unless you plan on not using them for food again!
    IMPORTANT: Do not submerge bake clay in water. Clean vase with a damp cloth. The flowers I put in this vase are artificial and made from 'sticky notes'. :)

    I loved this and am inspired to do this project. One thing is i noticed that there wasn't too many replies from the StudioSilverCreek people. There were lots of questions and only a few replies from them to say "thank you". Only folks who actually did it gave more info on how to do it. I too was wondering about the temperature and whether the glass would break.... No indication as to how hot is too hot. Other than that, it was a beautiful piece

    Really nice work, I thought from the thumbnail it was going to be a clay roller that had made the pattern.

    Bellissimo !!! So pretty. However what I don't understand is are you baking the item in the glass jar in the oven ? If so, is the item (glass jar) does it shatter or melt ? What happens to the jar ?How many hours would you say this particular item took since you show in elapsed time I believe ? Thank you so much for sharing.... Such a beautiful body of work to look at.....! :)

    • @SusanRoseArt
      @SusanRoseArt Před 6 lety

      No the glass doesn't shatter as Polymer Clay sets at a low heat :)

    How do you bake this? What temperature and how long? & it doesn't damage the glass?

    • @StudioSilverCreek
      @StudioSilverCreek  Před 7 lety +2

      I baked this at 200F(95C) for about 30-40 minutes. It shouldn't damage the glass with a low temp. I also put this on an old baking sheet to bake it.
