  • LSRC 1171 and 1166 lead train 303, enroute from Saginaw to Grayling, MI, across Bay County from Bay City north to Pinconning. We follow them at a few crossings in between, then catch them doing some switching at Pinconning picking up cars before continuing to Grayling.

These are not Sugarbeet hoppers. They are ortner hoppers used for aggregates and such. Chris, they were going to Grayling at this point. I can't remember if they were loaded or not. I want to say that they were for some business up in Grayling. I believe they came down from Alpena to Pinconning, then were picked up here to go to Grayling, perhaps a certain person, who was with me this day, could elaborate more on this for you.

Hello Chris, these cars are going up north to a cement(?) plant in Grayling. Justin is correct in saying they came from Alpena and vicinity, they were loaded there. These stone hoppers also go to Conrad Yelvington in Flint.
