Tibetan Buddhist Ritual Puja & Lama Dance (Tsum Ripchet Mani Dupchen)
In the Tantra it is explained:
    When, with these mudrās,
You demonstrate fierce and mighty wrath,
You will leap forth from the three realms.
    All states shall be accomplished.
Of this there is no doubt.
A traditional Cham dance is an event held by Tibetan Buddhist monasteries during special festivals. Now days, Cham is widely known as Lama Dance, however, cham is really a mudrās rather than ordinary dance.
Today is 1st day of 3rd Month of lunar Calendar, Ripchet Mangang Gonpa held Ritual Puja Festival of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshewera, Mani Dubchen. By final day of the Puja, Sanghas are performing Cham, a Sacred Ritual Dance.
Sanghas in colorful costumes wear masks and they dance to the music played from traditional instruments (such as the ritual drum).
These masks are made according to resemble of the individual deities and number of animals faces. It is taught that when performing ritual dance, sanghas will discard all notions of their ordinary self and assume the divine pride of the deity whose dance you are performing.
By attending a Cham Dance, visitors gain immense merit through Yidam and Deities blessing or / and purifies one’s negativity thoughts. Likewise, when we witness a performance, we can observe how the lamas enact stories from the past with great care. Thus, we can learn to appreciate ritual dance as another skillful means within Vajrayana Buddhism.
The dances are to be performed in their proper order in time with the musical instruments and the liturgies chanted with melodies. Regarding the actual dance movements, for it is said that the dances are rooted in the pure visions of the accomplished siddhas of the various traditions from whom these dances and then spread.
In Tibet, however, the first instance of ritual dance occurred when the dharma king Trisong Deutsen invited Acharya Padmasambhava and Abbot Śāntarakṣita from India and they built the glorious temple Samye Monastery and translated many secret mantra tantras into Tibetan. When Padmasambhava was consecrating the glorious temple of Samye, he performed the majestic vajra stance to subjugate the local demons that were obstructing the building of the first monastery as described in the tantras. This was the very first instance of ritual dance in Tibet. Moreover, it seems that the tradition of vajra ritual dance spread and developed in Tibet from this point onward.

so beautiful these people have the true heart of life and they should never invite the modern world into their lives as it will only destroy the beauty and truth they already enjoy in nature

Similar to the sacred clowning of the heyoka, this ritual is sends shuttering fear to all demonic forces. This lets the demons know that our bodies aint their play things. Taking our power back 🪓
