I have a pretty big collection of old books. I also have many pieces of West German pottery, glass bottles, spinning wheels, oil paintings and anything vintage or retro.

So, on a personal note, I’m redoing a vanity that, I’m not sure if is an antique or not but is certainly old. We’ve had it for many years just hanging out in the garage and unfortunately the mirror and frame got broken. Sad day. Anyways, I’m just curious how you would do it. It’s a wooden, 4 drawer vanity. I’m second guessing myself at every turn. 😝 I do know that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the distressing!!! It has beautiful scrolling on it. Lot’s of detailing that I can distress! 🥰 I love the decoupaged things you’ve done too! Thought of maybe doing some on the drawer fronts. I think the hardest decision is what color I want. I don’t know if I want it white or black. I don’t know which one would look better. 🤔 So…what would you do? If you need a picture of it, I can send you one. 😁
Oh.. well color depends on you and where you what it. Is it going in a bathroom. I’m worried about the moisture and paper, that’s why I asked. I’m definitely doing a lot more patinas lately that have been bringing out details. There’s even restoring it to wood and staining and found waxes also to bring out the details too. Hope that helps some
I love and value the same old things you do. The dings, cracks and patinas are all a part of their story and now they're a part of mine.

I was just wondering the same thing about whether other people see the beauty in the things I collect. I have had a spool that was turned into a lamp on Marketplace for $25 and not one bite. I currently have one of those big paint brushes on display lol

Those swans are just AMAZING
Wonderful job! I was watching a different CZcams creator earlier today and I realized I’ve become a price tag snob😁 the creator didn’t take any of the tags off the items! I love how this cabinet turned out. I adore old crockery and have several old pieces. Some of the large crocks we used for food preservation on the farm when I was young. I have my mother's similar china cabinet. It's in very nice condition so it's still the original finish. I floated a shelf on the bottom support and display baskets there and on top of the piece.

Yes, I do believe you have room for a few more pieces of stoneware and crocks! LOVE THE BRUSHES! Wish I could find some. I collect a little bit of stoneware…a little bit of old wood items…. Industrial pieces that fit in… When I see something and it grabs my “GOT TO HAVE IT BUTTON”… I collect it ! LOL!!!

I like your paint brushes hanging, not everyone sees the beauty in something you love. Your cabinets look great with your collections. Envy the basement space: California and now Nevada, not many basements. Thrift stores in Reno lack what I see in your area. I enjoy watching your hauls and how you redo and repurpose.
That caught my eye too. I think they are wallpaper brushes. Those bristles are probably stiff from glue.
So glad your keeping this cabinet it will be beautiful, I have one similar, sides and front are all glass I keep my precious items in it 😇
I love your home - the new piece is lovely! I know exactly what you mean about one piece changes up the entire house. I recently bought and refurbished a kitchen hutch. Well the hutch meant I needed to redecorate the kitchen and this included repainting. Since the kitchen flows into the living room, that needed to be painted also and gosh, as long as we had the paint, we just should just go ahead and paint the mud room. Since the half bath is right there, it only made sense to paint it, too. And when I say “we”, somehow my poor, wonderful husband got dragged into this project. I haven’t told him I want to redo our bedroom yet. And I sure haven’t told him that I just bought a large hutch off Facebook Marketplace yesterday that needs to be picked up. Shhh, don’t tattle on me, I plan on making a good dinner tonight and then I’ll lay it on him! So, yeah, I’m totally understanding you! ~ Linda

Normally I draw up when someone paints a true antique piece, as I think an antique piece of furniture should be kept as original as possible, but I must say I really love the way y’all finished this cabinet. Beautiful!

It turned out beautifully! I personally collect "minitures". I have a couple sets of dolls that are in civil war dress and victorian dress. They are about an inch and half tall and are incredibly detailed. I have a miniture pewter train set that is a Ringling Bros. piece. I bought it 25 years ago. It's retired and worth a little bit. I got interested in collecting because when we were little my Aunt bought me pieces for Christmas every year. I've continued to add to it. I also collect old cast iron. And I love porcelain pieces of all kinds! It's kind of an eclectic collection, lol!

Cabinet is beautiful and the iron stone looks perfect in there. I have the same large bowl that you put on the bottom shelf, it was my great grandmother’s scalloped potato bowl. Always used on Easter 🐣 🐥🌷💐🐇

I love how you redo your furniture. Love the cabinet! I collect primitive furniture , crocks, spoons, brooms and brushes. Just repainted a metal day bed . My granddaughter just had to have my poster bed, that I had done this past year, in black. That's what happens to some of my collections. But that's ok, furniture was made to past down. LOL. I have a cabinet like this is snatched on offer up for $120...i bought some black paint i wanted to do the top in and was gonna leave the legs stained and rub the black paint back to expose some stained details. It is so pretty...i literally cannot bring maself to touch it with paint...lol...i love what u did with it
