Review of Hornby's brand new for 2021 6 wheel coach range. Light fitted brake coach in BR crimson livery. bought from KJB Models www.hornby.com www.kjbmodels.co.uk
Hi Great review Very informative they do look vary nice coaches Ive got one of the southern railway brake baggage coaches on order to use as a tool van for my brakedown crane i do like the light system Hornby have put in them. Cheers Pete
Thank you! The magnet to activate the lights reminds me of the LNER dynamometer car that Rails did a few years ago, it’s a good way of turning them on and off, and you could probably rig some kind of electromagnet at the entrance to a fiddle yard to turn them on or off as they enter or leave the scenic area too.
Hi These are fantastic I think they go well with the hattons one Cuz no pre grouping stock is the same. Hornby 6 wheeled coaches are based on a nbr coach and 4 wheel coaches are based on stroudley ones. Great review Keep safe arp
@@chrisderby986 in my case gnr c1 and gnr stirling single I've pre ordered the lnwr and gnr and lner ones Can't wait to get my hands on them Keep safe arp
@@AdiPullen very nice! They look great in the pre Grouping liveries! Regarding the Hattons coaches, I must admit I’m a little put off from the amount of complaints online regarding their class 66, but I’m looking forward to having a look at their coaches when they finally arrive, will have to get me a teak one as they’re not bringing out a BR livery for a while
Different to the 4 wheels have, as they just fit into the axle boxes, but did wonder how they mounted the middle axle. I haven't seen any outside of departmental sets, but they may be some workman trains that still ran with older stock.

Yes a few other people have mentioned about adding a magnets to the underside of bridges to turn on the lights on or off

That’s about how I understand it too, they’re quite generic but a rake of 4 or 5 of them mixed will look spot on with my J72 or G5

@@chrisderby986 thier p class is stunner
Am a big fan of them
Swings and roundabouts I guess
@@chrisderby986 i feel like their class 66 is an unlucky model. I havent heard the same complaints on their other stuff (P class, barclay and wagons).

It’s a fairly simple solution to getting them round tighter curves, just would have been better if they could have made the couplings pivot too
@@chrisderby986 yeh if they're too light you don't want them derailing when in a rake of coaches. You got any of Hattons' on order?
@@bjmorley not at the moment, but I may order one in the coming weeks
