Wondering what bike to start on? Here’s a link to that! m.czcams.com/video/DPcVkFrTXV4/video.html
Brap Genius I finally get to go riding after 3 weeks because my damn carborater was all messed up
The Shark haha we’ve all been there, at least you can finally ride!!!
My bike just dies after I put it in first gear
Lane Gilbreath the idle might be too low, try revving higher when shifting from neutral to first
I just got my first bike I'm 16 and I could only ride it in the street its hard I keep sliding out in the sand and trails cuz I use to go thru these trials with quads
"Never underestimate yourself, you can do a lot more than you expect yourself to" That was a great quote
Lil Nade thanks homie
Brap Genius do you now if there is anywhere good to go in uk? Because I’m getting a motorbike soon and I don’t now where to go
Gaming with Hayden honestly I have no clue I’m from the US
@@BrapGenius I have a bike KLX 140L, I'm pretty skinny sobits heavy for me but it balances on its own. Indeed more practice because I barely ride it because of where I live. I'm 12 years old. I also keep grabbing the front brake because with my riding boots I can't really feel where anything is it bend my feet. I'm getting the hang of it though.
ApexModz good for you keep practicing!!!
“You dont have to go that fast” proceeds to YEET himself 100ft in 2 seconds
Jack Naylor lmao it’s a yz125 which is either go or don’t go😂😂😂
Brap Genius lmfao either slow or zoom
Brap Genius damn right. I have an ‘02 250 in mint condition and does it ever go, whether you want it to or not lol
@@BrapGenius yes lol
@@BrapGenius i am scared that i will face plant if i use my back break
One more tip, don't wear gym shorts😂
Brap Genius also another is don’t start on a damn two stroke 😂😭
@@wanted_450r I mean I started on this bike and I was fine.. My brother on the other hand flew into a tree his first time on this bike so you're prolly right 😂
I recently got into riding dirt bikes I rode my friends a couple times and I was wondering what would be a good dirt bike for starters
@@Matthew-kc3kf m.czcams.com/video/DPcVkFrTXV4/video.html
Lmao true
I'm gonna need to watch this about 20 times, thats how much of a noob I am to dirt bikes. I will be getting mine soon, first 1.
xKillerSoulzx good for you bro! Just make sure when you first star just practice moving forward a few feet, don't try to ride too far until you get a feel for the power
Brap Genius Thanks! My uncle said, once I get on it, I won't wanna stop, that's how fun it is
xKillerSoulzx he's not wrong haha
xKillerSoulzx you should also know that when letting go of the clutch give it gas slowly
Gotcha_in_ 310 definitely, and you don't wanna give it too much throttle either. You'll end up like my brother did in my video where I let him ride my dirt bike😂
As a street rider, I'll be honest, this gives me anxiety. I really want to pick up a cheap dirt bike and try it, though. Thanks for the video, dude.
Emilio Aguirre no problem, I will say going from street to dirt is harder than going from dirt to street, but you do have the fundamentals you need to ride dirt. The biggest thing I’d say is go slow because it takes some time to get used to the rough terrain especially when you’re used to pavement. Also be sure to stand on the pegs when you ride that makes it sooo much easier. Good luck!!!
Same, I just bought a used beater dirt bike for like 400$ but I’ve been riding a ninja 400 and Vulcan S all year lol.
Same here. I have quads and I am really good on them and ride big and small cruisers but two wheels on dirt has been an adventure and so addicting. Started with a 94 rm125 and just bought an 08 KTM 200 xc-w. Have not taken it out of the neighborhood yet but the hardest thing for me going from street to dirt is learning its ok for the bike to slide, hop, drift etc. I kept letting off the gas at every little slip of the rear wheel. I wish I would have learned on dirt first but I am getting it!
Biggest thing was my r6 foot pegs were in a different spot than dirtbike pegs so it was super weird and didn’t feel right
i know i’m late but a big thing about dirt bikes is they are a lot lighter then street bikes so when you feel like you might fall it’s a lot easier to save, you just need confidence
I got mine a few week ago and after a few minor mistake and a bit of falling I got pretty good at it. I practiced out in an empty parking lot and once I got the hang of it,moved it over to the woods and there's nothing like riding out when you got a pretty crappy life like mine. Great tips btw :)
Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea. Haha glad to hear that you're getting better at it, and yes riding makes everything better, especially once you get good at.
Brap Genius ikr it's great to get away from it all and just ride. I mean I sure as hell ain't getting half as good as you guys but I'm glad I tried it before calling it quits
havin' a crappy life and doing something sublime makes you appreciate those glimpses of life and turn them sweet
quetshupfa yep absolutely
Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea. Idk if you’re into marijuana but dude, take a nice easy ride out in the wild, ride to the top of an open mountain or clear view and sit back relax and smoke some. Most relaxing thing I’ve ever done, nothing beats that in my opinion. Sorry about the way things are going in your life right now :/ try to keep your head up, life gets hard but getting past the hard stuff makes life so much more worth it. Hope you have a good day :) #Ride4Life
I agree with everything this guy is saying.. But DONT wear GYM SHORTS! Get knee pads and jeans or riding pants. And a pair of bark busters are a great first upgrade for a woods rider.
Isaac Graham true, that was one of the few times I ever wore shorts cause it was like 90° haha
Dickies OG work pants
Why do you need knee pads? [Sorry I'm 3 years late]
@@alissalalala so that if you fall your knees won’t explode
@@ArturoGonzalez-oj4ir fair point
I just got a 2003 DRZ 125 because my boyfriend and I wanna share his hobby. I have a bit of PTSD from a 4x4 accident- was an automatic so never learned manual. He taught me perfectly but I get really overwhelmed once the bike is on and my mind blanks. It's only been two days. This video is my secret weapon. Thanks for making it- and love that the bike is older, very relatable for me.
I’m glad the video helped. When it comes to your PTSD the best way to beat it is to face that fear. Once you get more confident riding your brain will rewire itself and tell you it’s okay to ride. Good luck!
I bought myself a 125cc pitbike. First time EVER riding yesterday! I’m in love. Thanks for doing these videos, they’re a massive help 👍🏼
Melissa Bowtell glad it helped good luck with the bike!
what bike you brought?
@@beforetheracks I bought my bike yesterday, and I have yet to ride it yet cause I'm still learning but its a 1978 Suzuki 250 Enduro it's a 2 stroke racing bike. Owner told me its got alot of power so I'm kind of hesitant to do anything with it, it was literally his most powerful bike but it was cheap so I got it
@@alexosow yup those are pretty powerful lmao

" If you don't think you can do it give it a shot anyways. At least you tried" famous last words haha
Jacob O'Brian full send bud😂
I did that last summer and dumped the bike into a tree hahaha
My first time riding was when I bought my old street bike off someone way down the road. Had no clue how to ride , basically wobbled all over the road in fist gear the whole way home. Now I'm riding my dads yz426f . It's crazy how easy it is to learn , after a while you don't even need to think about it you just get on and go . Good video I used some of this technique to teach my little brother how to ride is rt100.
That's awesome bro, and yeah I did the best I could to describe it its hard because like you said you get to a point where you don't even think about doing it
Different camera angles of your feet shifting would have been real helpful
Bob Newhart it’s not hard changing gears, you just have to hold the clutch and change the gear and let and clutch go. If the engine is getting louder and you are not going faster, that’s when you know to change gears. The hardest part is starting from zero because if you release that clutch too quickly, the bike will sputter and stop.
@@soproparmvfx6269 if you see this I wanna know what happens if I don’t shift
if you raise the throttle without changing gears. The engine is going to rev or its going to reach a rpm. Which is not healthy for a bike. Its the same as pressing the gas pedal in park mode.
@@soproparmvfx6269 oh thanks man
@@soproparmvfx6269 when u shift do u let go of the gas ??
Honestly I think I just love watching you ride, could watch it for ages. And the sound of that 2 stroke is to die for
Pillxel haha thank you! And I know 2 strokes are lifeeee
but 4 strokes tho😂damn gotta love those
I grew up using ATVs and Side-by-Side. My brother was always the dirtbiker. Cheers for this tutorial. Now nextime we go out I can actually swap with him and ride the bike for a bit.
Stay safe out there buddy 🤙🏾.
That’s awesome homie I’ve swapped with a quad before they’re really fun too. I’m gonna try to make some quad videos at some point as well. Ride safe brotha
It’s my first day riding a dirt bike with a clutch, Ive known how to use one and for all the people who think it’s hard, once you learn, hold clutch when shifting, stopping, ect. It’s a lot more easier than you think. Just do some research!
My dad asked dirtbike or 4 wheeler me and my bro said dirtbike they left to the place to get them watched half of this then left thinking I’m not getting it anyway boom they come with this dirtbike I’m like WHATTTTT I love riding it lmao and my dads buying another one so we won’t have to share probably next month for my birthday I’m already better than my brother and my dads like your gunna have to teach him how to ride
Edit:thx so much for the heart
edit: 2 years later and that bike was sold as we werre moving to an aprtment and we didnt ride much since summer was over and now around spring me and my brother each got a 125cc 4 stroke which is a huge upgrade from the 75cc 2 stroke i think that was and yeah i love riding it :D
WolfiePlays that's awesome man glad you guys are getting into the bike life!!
My parants got me a 4 wheeler because they like mud and tough terrain but we aren't wealthy so I'm saving like 500 cnd to get a broken bike I can work on I'm 14

5 years later and you’re still helping people haha. I got my first bike a few days ago and have shifting up and down pretty good but I’m terrible at the getting bro first and starting smoothly so this helps a lot Thankfully I haven’t fallen off yet but have gotten into a few unintentional wheelies 😂
Glad it helped and keep practicing you got it🫡
This video felt like you were a supportive older brother teaching me how to ride. Definitely wont forget these steps now. Thanks!

Thankful my fam is teaching me on a drz400 instead of me going it alone on a zx6r as my old plan. Finally am listening to wise riders now. Your advice is great! Thank you!
No problem supermotos are great bikes to learn on for the street

Miss Payne you can make it happen, you gotta go at your pace and know that you get better the more you try👌

My dude, I frickin love you. You're not like teachers that hold your hand and let you do NOTHING, so it takes you months to learn. You're talking and explaining like a friend yk? Totaly chill, making you NOT pu$$y out. It rarely fails and even if it does, you will fall, get back on your bike and continue. If you fall with someone holding you hand, that's it, go cry under a blanket you can't ride anymore. Respect my dude

Thank you so much, this was informative, I have a yz 250 03 brand new, roaded probably 20 times, if that everybody that sees it wants to buy it. I finally will have time to ride it in 2019 July I'm not a rider so you helped me with the gears. Thx
MC Dime glad I could help! And that bike is awesome my friend has the same one it’s a beast!
Would you say learning to ride a dirtbike is as easy or more difficult than learning to drive a manual car?
Shaggy Mason probably more difficult because there's a lot more power usually and you have to maintain balance. If you can find an open flat spot that helps a ton
I’d depend really because in a car you have to follow a lot more rules but you do on a bike as well but you can’t just speed around in a forest with your friends in a car
learning manual car i think its easier compared to a bike i have never ridden an dirt bike but for me driving a manual its just normal i think because im from europe
More easy I’m 10 and I learned to ride my pitbike in one day
More easy I’m 10 and I learned to ride my pitbike in one day
I’m 5,4 and I’ve recently considered a dirt bike to practice before I’m 16 ... I want something below £170 which I can grow into ... what do u recommend
bone xtoo cool bro, before I can answer your question you gotta tell me something, I use US $ dollars, how much is 170 in US dollars so Ik how to help
Brap Genius it's like 200 dollars. Not going to get anything for that price.
Mr. Vontrapp yeh that's what I figured I just wanted to be sure, there's nothing good for that price unfortunately
For that price you might be able to find something decent if you look around for a 2nd hand bike but really all you'l find are thumpstars, yamoto's, orions, etc basically a bunch of knock off chinese brands. Just do your research.
If you're going to buy anything with that amount of money I would say go for a 150 Atomik, It's the best cheap chinese bike you'l find out there and they give an alright amount of power.
Exactly what I was trying to find dude . Cheers

I'm 5.1 and I'm 13 what bike should I start on, I know how to ride but I'm not an expert
Do you want a 4 stroke or 2 stroke? Honestly I'd say a Honda 150r would be the perfect bike for you, controllable power that you can grow into, and not too tall.
Thanks man
Zane Wilson my younger sibling has a Honda 150r they're great bikes a lot of fun. You're gonna get a lot taller over the years but don't let a tall bike discourage you from riding. Just do regular maintenance always check the oil, and it'll last you forever.
