  • Capsizing during testing has become the norm in this America's Cup cycle where teams have developed efficient ways of getting back up and running quickly. But turning turtle as the INEOS Britannia team did last week is not only a first but a serious and worrying incident that could prove to be a set back for the British team.
Skipper and team boss Sir Ben Ainslie explains what happened and how the team moves forward.
Plus, what the other teams have been up to including how others have gone for a swim in our round up of Cup news.

I really enjoy this channel and the insights you bring to the world of sailing. I've only been on a sailboat once in my life, a 53' in San Diego harbor. It was a race day and I throughly enjoyed myself.

Nice update as usual. Looking forward to getting your insights into ETNZ during your time with us here in Auckland. Hopefully the uninvited guest cyclone Gabrielle will be well gone by then!

Ahoy Matthew, Is Team GBR the only AC40 to "capsize" & Totally-Turtle?! Has any AC75's ever "Turtled"?

This video confirms that sailing has gone in the wrong direction. I sailed in the days of fast IOR yachts and believed that Yacht designers and professional sailors, add sponser's have taken the sport, not to the next level, but to the ridiculous ! If they capsize them, let the crew get them back to shore. Mention was that Tom Slingsby ( Australian ) may skipper the American Boat, how can that be an American Challenge ? If they want to experience speed, hop into a formula 1 car. Finally, call it foiling, but definitely not sailing. Aussie Doug. There are about 900 million TVs on the last American's Cup, so I would say a lot of people disagree with you I don't know who made you watch the last American's cup but you don't have to as they have a lot of support foiling is a tool for sailing if it's on the water and powered by the wind it sailing it takes alot of work to keep those boats foiling.

@@isaacmtamou8070 Isaac. Your comment noted. I did not watch the last America's Cup, only the video on the new boats being trialed. These boats are kept upright by computers, not the crew. They can not respond fast enough to changes in the crafts attitude ! You should be able to sail a boat in winds less than 15 knots per hour ! As for 900 thousand watching the event out of a world population of billions, big deal ! Again, call it foiling, not sailing ! Aussie Doug. Interested in your yachting history ?

@douglasringholt2606 Nice comments for a person that didn't watch it and the super blow yesterday that they do ever year had 130 million for a sport that only happens every 4 years 943 million strems is impressive. And yes sorry I made a typo
