Beautiful voice. Henry is able to understand and explain the character he plays. That's why he was so magnificent in the rôle .
margaret Fletcher "The last one left"? Norfolk was still around--but stuck in the Tower, having just escaped execution bythismuch (Henry died before the warrant could be signed).
I cried when he died ,even on his sick bed the king wanted to see him he went but died next day ,king is very selfish.
@@angeliapittman7774 Well,historically Brandon died of some illness when Henry was a guest in his house. The king was travelling the kingdom in the summer and he came to Brandon's residence. Then Charles had fallen ill(he was like 60 years old at the time) and died few days later,I think. It was a great loss to Henry,as Brandon was his best friend(they knew each other since childhood) and loyal servant to him and to England. He had him buried at St.George's Chapel in Windsor Castle(which is his and Jane Seymour's resting place as well) at his own expense. Henry died like 1,5 year after Charles.

He understands his character very well. Truly, one of the best actors in the tudors.
I liked Charles as he grew older. His weakness is that he makes a terrible husband...but he matures into a good father, and a good statesman, and I enjoyed his internal struggle between his loyalty to Henry..and the battles with his conscience, as a result of it.
Ahhh...Henry during simpler times when only a few new about this talented man.
I've had a crush on him since 2007, when he wasn't that well known. saw him a couple of times in London, didn't get a chance to say hello but I hope to if I see him again.
aside from being gorgeous, he has a really kind of ageless face or something. i mean he can genuinely look younger or much older than his real age, which is a pretty great thing for an actor.

One of the best actors on the tudors, without doubt (and the best looking 😂). he clearly understands my favourite character very well and portrayed him perfectly. i think henry's role on the tudors was the best out of all his roles so far. He was def my favorite part of the show 😍😍🔥🔥 i still rewatch the tudors all the time

If you look at primary sources, you will see this from many different writers, not only from his contemporaries from England, but also from France, Spain, and Italy. Many of the foreign ambassadors commented on his good looks and his jousting skills. Given his scandalous marriage to Mary, the Dowager Queen of France, he attracted a lot of attention at that time (in 1515). Please note that we don’t have any portraits of the younger Brandon. His wedding portrait with Mary was actually painted after her death, meaning after June 25, 1533. He was 49 at this time. Since beauty standards vary considerably over the centuries, we may not find him as attractive as his contemporaries. I think he did a great job in this role. In reading the history of Brandon compared to the show, he did a good job in this role.

Charles Brandon was a very Sincere & faithful friend to king Henry. He never let down his friend all thru his life .The king knew this,& he loved him.more than Brandon loved him
Henry Cavill more than successfully rendered the relationship between Brandon and the King during each phase of his life. Henry Cavill proved to be a keen analyst of Brandon's character and King Henry VIII character with their strong and weak sides. Henry Cavill 's performance of the character shows how well he understood the circumstances, the intricate relationships among the people he was dealing with, i.e the noblemen, the queens, the rebels...and that comes of the serious way he's been treating his role. In my opinion, none of the characters Henry Cavil performed afterwards, after Charles Brandon character, showed his real capabilities...The moment of a complex role again is still to come..Good luck Henry Cavill!
The Tudors put Henry Cavill on peoples radar. I think he really understood his character totally i loved him in the Tudors. Henry is and amazing and talented actor.
As the usual Henry is the best telling you a story.

So for one of my college courses we are playing out the king's parliament. And I got put at the role of charles Brandon, and I could not be more happier. He loved the king and he was loyal to the king until the very end.

I think the other reason why he was the only high up that survived was because he wasn’t born to high station so he never had any chance whatsoever of competing with Henry for the crown.

I know many people don’t considere Henry cavill as a great actor but in “the tudors” I think he was amazing, even better than jrm because you could what Charles was thinking just by his eyes. I don’t see that on jrm, he needs to show and move more his body to express. Henry just the look and you see everything what Charles was going through. And he was only 25 by then, cavill is so good when he is well directed.

One small thing I've noticed about Charles is how he almost always attend public executions. He even attended Anne Boleyn's execution even though he hated her.
I think the only executions he weren't at were Catherine Howard and her lovers' :) Maybe Cromwell aswell

@@casanova317, it is interesting to note that, as per custom back then, Charles Brandon did not attend his wife’s (Mary Tudor’s) funeral. Instead both Henry and Charles attended the Requiem Mass ordered by Henry in the Westminister Abbey.

Brandon did get some of Henry's wrath over his marriage to Henry's sister (Henry's permission was required). Had Henry not decided on a large fine and temporary banishment from Court, both could have easily ended up in the Tower.
thats true, but after he asked for the fine and forgave them, they only ended up paying a small amount of the fine. they were supposed to pay £24,000 in yearly instalments of £1000, but six years after they got married and got fined, they'd only paid £1324, and henry didn't care. so it seems he forgave them quickly
@@xxxxxx5062 BTW, Brandon actually married MARY, not Margaret. And that first marriage was to a Prince of France (who eventually became King). Portugal might have been considered, and the first husband was was not smothered.
"The Tudors" was (as per the creator) meant as historical entertainment, not biography.
@@gidzmobug2323 yes, i know that. ive been studying the tudor era, especially henry the 8th's reign, for years in my free time, and i know that charles married mary tudor, and that she was the widow of louis 12 of france. and in many cases, the creators had to make assumptions about some characters due to lack of confirmed information about the historical figures they're based on.

@mahalcat I know Henry got the role in superman but he also audition for superman returns but Brandon Routh got the role. Superman Returns came out in 2006
