RIDING IN WINTER? - MACNA heated jacket in depth review 🔥

super excited to show you my very first gear review of 2022!
At the moment the average temperature is 3 degrees celsius, so I am starting this new series with the MACNA heated jacket, that seems to be a great solution when riding in cold weather.

The worst thing about Macna is when you connect the power you need to switch on the item of clothing. Whilst this may seem petty to say... it is actually a huge pain, why? Because lets say you put on your heated jacket and trousers, you then put on your motorbike jacket and trousers, you go to your bike plug the power in and then have to feel for the heated power button through you motorbike jacket and trousers, then you have to hold the button down and may not be sure it is on because of the Bluetooth lag between garment and phone app. Secondly Macna uses wired elements instead of carbon paneling, so garments will not be as durable over time. Thirdly all heated garments are a mid layer as such there should be some insulation, however if the jacket and trouser are windproof this would act as a form of insulation. Fourthly on the app you have to increase the temperature to reduce the temperature, the heating control should be a plus and minus symbol to allow full control.

Grazie! How warm is the jacket on its own? And how thin or bulky? Have you compared the Leis or Warm & Safe range?

So, is jacket weatherproof? Wind, rain?

The Macna jacket had to be used under a motorcycle jacket. It’s not waterproof but creates a good isolation from wind - although not wind resistant certified. 👍🏻
