Should've set up a kit for Vinnie
Fax
Without close-mic'ing.
Nah. He's too drunk/hungover.
Van020280 when wasn’t he 😂
@@Van020280 He was in Pantera for god sake, probably plays better intoxicated ahaha
Joe looks fucking amazing for 60.
totally agree..
It's because he's vegetarian
Hi satchfan2010! Perhaps is some kind of genetic problem that makes him look so young at such an old age. Thanks for the comment.
''Old age? Joe is 60, that is not very old.
satchfan2010 He's talking about being 14 when Hendrix died and it doesn't compute. Dude looks like he was 14 when Stevie Ray Vaughn died.
Joe Satriani and Vinnie Paul should have recorded a track together. It would have been fantastic, great.
why? so you can hear satriani noodle endlessly in a composition that goes absolutely nowhere?
This would be a hell of a lot more badass if it ended in a Jam Session....talk about a missed opportunity. 😕
lol no. was perfect as is, goof.
Fact
RIP Vinnie. Say hi to Dime for us all.
You can tell Vince is watching him and thinking about Dimes playing. The brothers synergy will never be replicated unfortunately.
You're right, I seen it too. It made him uneasy because Joe has the same skill as Dime. Poor Vin died without his brother.
God bless them both, the Abbott brothers and Rest in Peace.
It's crazy how humble Satch comes across, he's a fucking God.
Who's watching after his tragic passing?
RIP Vinnie Paul
shit, i didn't even know until i read this comment. that's saddening to hear.
+1
The Jumpy Guitar Gamers it’s so hard to watch this
I am Motherfucker
the man went out in the bed of his own home. Sure, its sad we lost a legend, but he died the least tragic way possible. RIP
God damn, didn't know Primal Concrete Sledge almost didn't get recorded. Would've been a crime.
the greatest Pantera song ever.
Satch is one of the greatest guitarist players we have been given the opportunity to enjoy. I've had the pleasure of meeting Joe several times and he's a wonderful person.
Joe Satriani and PanterA in the same video? Merry Christmas to me!!!!
R.I.P VINNIE PAUL 🥁
I feel like there's some details missing here...
Sad !!!
Custard Chronicles what mr.e do?
Thats the ultimate concert I wish I was at...1990, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Pantera. Damn.
RIP Vinnie. Among the greatest drummers of all time.
Possibly the two coolest rock stars ever
RIP Vinnie
Joe is one of the finest players ever. Also: he's alway on top of his game. Never heard him play a bad note!
I just wanted to say thanks to old mr abott real quick for letting both of his sons change heavy metal history. I've never been so happy a kid got forced to play drums.
copycat son ...
Joe is so godly on guitar..... he does all the simple techniques that I actually know so much better and more smoothly.... let alone the more advanced stuff that I def cannot accomplish yet
11:03 Vinnie heard Dime
Miguel Ramirez 😢
Joe is on such a different level. I think Vinnie was really happy to listen....Joe in turn asked Vinnie in such a sincere way what he thought..love these guys
2 of my biggest influences together!! Thank you fuse!!!
I love these kind of interviews where it just 2 musicians talking & both asking questions.
Imagine how much better The art of shredding would rage with a TUBA solo????😂😂
I think we'd all die for his 'young genes' and his musical prowess.
RIP Vinnie. Binge watchin all your interviews eases the pain :(
Nobody's going to discuss how Joe did that whammy bar dive @11:00?
So you couldn't get a kit for Vinnie? Otherwise wonderful interview
I kinda agree and at the same time...no I don't, comparing Vinnie Paul's ability with Joe's is like saying "I can walk faster than a ferrari..." Won't deny VP's ability as a drummer even tho he passed but C'MON!
The Mastema You're a fucking nerd. Notice how Vinnie Paul is not impressed with Joe Satriani's playing? Neither am I. We play metal, not cheap, simple, awful tone blues licks. You must not know shit to say Vinnie Paul couldn't keep up with the garbage Joe Satriani plays. What a fuckin nerd you are.
We? Who's we?! Is that multiple personality disorder or something'? Metal is not the only form of music you know? And there's nothing "simple" or "awful" in Satriani's music. But thanks Richie boy, for calling me a nerd, in terms of music oh yeah I am. Also in the future you're excused from commenting on musicians when you consider Satriani's music "cheap, simple, awful tone blues licks", thanks!
The Mastema but if Vinnie took up guitar instead of drums,he would be as good as his bro, which is on the same level as Joe,Dimebag had incredible technique, hell Alex and Eddie swapped instruments but I feel Alex would have been a tremendous guitarist and vice versa,it’s just what you love most.
Some of the greatest guitarists on the planet played drums first,Zappa,Dimeola all drummers first, don’t get the stereotype drummers cop by narcissists.
IF this if that. Everyone has a different opinion. They are all valid and none of them matter. Gotta be children. . .
I bought a drumset because of Vinnie Paul, dudes my idol. RIP man.
That Halford story is pretty fucking amazing.
Such a random combo together, yet a very good video.
Man I love all these dudes they’ve all inspired me to be the musician I am today
Great vid, thanks
Love both these guys!
Wow, Satch mentioning Uriah Heap made something pop in my head. I had a Love at First Sting tapestry hangin on my wall in the mid-eighties, and right beside it was Abominog lol.
Vinnie looks like he would be the boss on a saga genesis game or something lol.
GioGuitarDude 😂😂😂
Lol! He makes me wanna grab a bucket of Popeyes.
Bruh 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
He was completely a cartoon character.
Streets of rage. Check out Steve vai with devin Townsend. That band looks like streets of rage thugs
amazing Joe got these things that we call eyes
Outstanding!!!
Quite interesting conversation !!!
Satriani is so sick...his playing seems so effortless and free
Off the wall, very nice
two legends just having a random chat. insane.
so good, these 2
my mission in life is to now be a heavy metal tuba player
Joe is a musical genius!😎
I just got an orange colored guitar. I absolutely love the color I just think it's great.
great interview
Joe really is an Alien!!! He does not age!!!
And his arm hair keeps him warm in cold environments!!!
dime bag will always be my favorite player he had a natural way to create riffs and solos and being I'm from texas and play would love to play with Vinnie play walk and cfh of course the loss he must face day to day might make it difficult to go back to playing those songs..
Joe is a legend. Truly a legend.🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Who would have loved to see Satriani and Dimebag together?
God bless ya Vinnie🤘 Tell ya bro we miss him and love ya both!🤘👊🎸🥁 you guys are why I listen to metal and play guitar! Until we meet again!👊🙏
Two legends.
Man I miss those Brothers, gone but never forgotten🤘
Surfing with an alien is a musthave for all rockers😊. Man that never gets old..
Such nice guys, such legends.
That story for Primal Concrete Sledge was crazy, one of the most recognisable Pantera live staple songs almost didn’t happen
The tuba story is so awesome....
This is friggin' great! A 3 or 4 pc. set of even pads would have been cool for Vin, but things are so fluent and dynamic in the Music Industry who knows if this was done at the last minute or inbetween something else happening, or a lack of equipment.
Nonetheless this is mad cool! Love this!
10:55 man that ooooo vinnie does you can tell he loved that part and was like I’m not missing out on him doing that for me in person 😆🤘
Pretty cool discussion!
I love Joe! He is God on guitar! He also taught my all time favorite guitarist Alex Skolnick! Vinny is one of the greatest drummers of all time and a super cool cat! I hope he enjoyed my band Jerusalem! Was cool to meet Vinnie!
RIP Vinnie. May you and Dime jam in the afterlife together.
If Joe,Vinnie and Trujillo jam together, the universe will explode.
Wow this is epic, hope they jam each other. R.I.P Vinie
Beautiful guitar.
Great stuff
SO SHWEEEETTT...much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
...just seeing this.....2 19 2019 so cool and man rip vinnie....!...and i love you Joe....thanx for all the joy you bring to the world.. !
Nice program!
Vinnie had metronomic timing,he was a machine.Even though I wasn’t a rabid Pantera fan,I appreciated their musicianship.
My fav guitarists as a drummer are John McLaughlin and Steve Goodsall from Brand X ,they have technique but they also have a spirituality to their playing, also great tones especially the 70s output.
Peace.
Satriani is a bad mf. He taught both Kirk Hammet and Steve Vai. Beast.. legend..
And Alex from Testament. And the guitar player from Primus
I know he taught Steve vai but did he have a school or something?
His name is Larry…. Larry Lalonde
dammm, imagine Dime and joe together?
Ro Vespasiano whammy pulls for days
That'd be one hell of a guitar lesson for Joe.
Anybody notice that the dragon on Vinnie's hat is the same one on Johnny Winter and Ozzy's chest but different colors?
There's a lot of online hate for the JCM 2000 TSL on the internet. After listening to Satriani play through it, I hate to tell the bashers but it's probably your playing and not the amp.
If Vinnie Paul ain't in heaven who the hell wants to go.
Gonna miss Vinnie... One of my favorite drummers.
what??? this is awesome!
RIP Vinnie you will be missed.
Rest in heaven vinnie paul n dime....always n forever miss u brothers 😢😢😢😢
joe goes through his music theory in fine detail explaining his life of making music and then it goes to Vinnie and "i play drums when i hear a guitar that's cranking"
lol i miss Dime. He would have given Joe a run for his money.
Jim Flanagan Joe and Dime are my two favorite guitarists of all time. Both are fantastic
Let's be realistic here dime would STILL easily give him a run for his money
Daniel Rodriguez stop the stereotype, dimebag would have been amazing but jazz was not his thing but I bet if it was,he would cream Joe.
@Bhaskar Yadav ummm..... wrong.
Primal concrete sledge!!! Amongst the hardest songs ever written
1st Pantera record huh Vin? Never mind the 4 Glam Metal ones before it? Power Metal was actually a solid album for the time.
Easy with the guitarist comparisons folks, it's a fine line. I will bet you any money though that Satriani would take a few lessons from Dime if he was there.
Who wouldn't?
Ah, that wonderful moment where opinion meets reality. Satriani gives lessons - he doesn't take them.
Dimebag gives lessons he doesn't take them
Pissening comeback.
Those guys would trade licks and tips for hours. They'd learn a lot from each other.
While I am not a Satriani fan he seems like a nice and down to earth man.
What about him don't you like? Are you not a fan of instrumental rock guitarists in general, or just Satriaini?
not really.
Hi. He just doesn't appeal to me, for no particular reason.
i grew up in westbury ny and billy joel, was in hicksville next door and steve vai and satch were in westbury (carle place) it was the water.
I like to imagine that before the camera started rolling Vinnie's shirt was buttoned all the way up and as the blues licks got sexier he'd undo one after the other XD
SO SHWEEEETTT...much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
sooooo cool..!!!!!!
I clicked like before watching haha.
This is why I love CZcams
RIP Vinnie.
Dime: Hell yea man
Joe: huh?
Dime: Watch this man I dig it
Joe: what?
Dime: Catch a pull
😇
I met vinnie backstage once, and he was a really cool guy. It was with hellyeah.
Namekian Jedi Yeah hell was one of my very favorite
I prefer Dimebag on guitar 🎸 and his personality just resonates. Love Vinnie too! The world is better off knowing Pantera walked and rocked this earth 🌍 Texas Pride!
I would love to have seen Joe in that first band playing covers.
RIP
HELLYEAH
He did play a Marshall TSL100 before on an Argentina late night show back in 2000 or so.
Why does Satch only get to play? Vinnie should have his set on stage...I wanna see it too man!
I was hoping they would jam together . One can dream:)
Far beyond tuba
Satch may know a ton of theories but I dig Dime's off the cuff phrasing a lot more, nobody played like him while Satch is more on the vanilla side.
Thats because satch invented vanilla haha
dime ripped off a lot of satch one thing I never liked about putera is they never gave credit to all the bands and musicians they ripped off ...
dime is not even a itchy pubic hair on Joe's balls
Dominic Sosa your a fool if you believe that..
Dominic Sosa please elaborate
Damn, we miss Vinnie. It feels we were JUST at the memorial. Never saw this video though, rest in peace brother. We’ll always miss you.🙏🏻🥁
