France are amazing. They clearly are no longer the dominating team of the 2010s, their collective is aging, sometimes their attacking game looks rather slow and rusty, their defense is nowhere near as agressive and efficient as what it used to be. Tbf they didn't even look too good today, if you think player of the match only danish names jump to mind right, it's all Nielsen and Gidsel and maybe Hansen and Pytlick. And yet here they are, adding yet another star to their jersey. Seemingly just believing in themselves, holding on like they know they will win it, and then edging it in another extra-time masterclass. Impressive.

Je ne vois pas comment on peut tirer sans lever au moins un pied. J'ai vérifié le tir d'Hansen. pas mieux que Prandi
Ça va très vite. Compliqué pour les arbitres de tout voir. D'autant qu'il y a toujours une petite marge de manœuvre.
Beaucoup de buts sont inscrits avec un pied en zone l'espace d'une fraction de seconde. Les arbitres ne sanctionnent que lorsque c'est flagrant.

Très franchement je ne voyais pas cette équipe de France en transition générationnelle aller en 1/2. Tant de matchs arrachés, cela ne pouvait pas durer selon moi. Mais ces hommes là ont un mental et un physique à toutes épreuves. Les adversaires de l'équipe de France n'ont jamais pu tuer le match. Bien mal leur en a pris. S'il n'y a pas un écart de plus 5 buts, les bleus reviennent, les bleus usent, les bleus s'imposent. Et ce sans jamais avoir eu un gardien aussi déterminant que ceux des équipes en face. Encore merci pour ces moments. Il y aura d'autres hauts mais aussi des bas, c'est normal. Quelle équipe peut se prévaloir autant de titres sur une période aussi longue. Depuis les Bronzés qui ont montré la voie, quel parcours !
Ce n'est pas la première fois que la France gagne un match avec peu d'arrêts de gardiens. C'était par exemple le cas en 2011 en finale. Et à Rio les danois nous ont battus alors qu'Omeyer avait fait deux fois plus d'arrêts que Landin.

Can someone please answer a question for me? I am not being funny or something, I like the game but I am very far from being an expert. Today I was impressed by both goalkeepers but I noticed that they are not as fit as the other players, in fact I thought they were a little "chubby". That is not the first time a notice that. Is this normal in handball? Is this intentional? Can someone explain that to me? Thanks
You have the proof that being "chubby" is not a problem in playing handball. On women side this is the same (just see Sarah Bouktit from France or Marija Petrovitc from Serbia). 😉

however i would say , being in shape contributes to better reflexes , so the both of them are not good role models , so to speak
Not at all intentional. In fact Omeyer, last french goalkeeper back then was super feen. Swedens goalkeeper is also really thin and top tier. I think its only luck this time 😅
All keepers ain't chubby. Mainly they're tall and fit.The most important skills are reflexes and good reading of shooter moves.

Poor call subbing off Nielsen, I understand the logic, but in the end it didn't work, Landin was ok, but not as good as Nielsen who was subbed after a bad streak. Not the main reason Denmark lost, but one of the contributing factors.
In the same time Nielsen was under pressure and only made 4 saves during the second period. He said himself that he felt the French stronger in the end and after every substitution.
But it was a very strong French team

Congrats to DENMARK. AS A FRENCH. NIELSEN IS A 'IGHTMARE.
Je maintiens que Guillaume Gille n'est pas un bon coach, aucun temps mort de sa part de toute la partie, alors qu'on aurait pû ne pas aller en prolongation, on était derrière. Et se après la catastrophe du coaching contre la Suède ou il nous enlève un point qui a failli et aurait dû nous coûter
Ensuite clairement en terme d'équipes malgré le talent individuel, et un niveau similaire on sent qu'on est absolument plus la superpuissance comme il y a dix ans et aujourd'hui si on gagne c'est par le mental de l'équipe plus que la compétence ou plan de jeu pur.
Franchement sur ce match on échange les gardiens des deux équipes et on gagne confortablement. Suffirait de trouver un bon gardien... Mais c'est sûr que le niveau a aussi baissé.

Il saborde un point contre la Suède, attend qu'ils repassent devant au score en 2 période. La pas un seul temps mort en finale, alors que c'est bien les Danois qui ont la balle de match en main et refusent de s'en servir pour je ne sais quel raison, qu'ils étaient a +3 pendant un temps fort qu'il a pas essayé de casser, ni de bloquer l'arrière gauche, il a donné aucune consigne au 7/0 pris par les Danois non plus a 10 minutos non plus..
Le schéma d'attaque c'est toujours le même depuis l'arrière droit pour finir a gauche avec l'autre arrive ou le pivot les ailiers même a 100 pourcent de réussite ne servent à rien, il ont clairement l'interdiction d'entrer en 2 ème pivot ou de venir faire des appels de balle
Non vraiment il s'est littéralement fait porter par ses joueurs probablement les plus vieux et expérimenté, le mental historique sue porte l'équipe et son staff technique.

Many other "illegal" goals have been allowed during this game, especially when shooters touch the zone before releasing the ball.
Everybody in handball know that there is a tolerance allowed for such actions.
But also when a goal is scored with a charge, a travelling, etc.
Prandi's shot is no more important than a goal which is scored "illegally" during this game, and maybe if every goal was reviewed, Sweden has scored more "illegal" goals than France.
