Crap I totally forgot Deadpool got cancer in the movie and then the healing factor that cured him was the thing that scarred his face. I'm just sitting here thinking "aww what a sweet thing for Ryan Reynolds to do" & the comment completely went over my head. Yeah that explains the character choice a bit. Good observation.

I love the cause. Someone very close to me actually had cancer a couple years ago and is a survivor 🎉 Ryan is an amazing person, and I hope everyone has a healthy and amazing lifestyle!!! Thanks, Deadpool!!!
This is probably the best of these things I’ve seen, the idea to use Deadpool for a cancer charity is genius, Ryan is amazing as always, and because it’s deadpool they can use these straightforward lines and just straight up tell us “we need your money” to our faces and have us react so positively to it
Ryan fought to get dead pool done. He promoted the character and spent time and money to get DP 2 done. To me he is Dead Pool incarnate. No one could deliver those lines as well as him.

@@godzilla2845 he's sorta based on both. he was originally desinged to poke fun at deathstroke with the whole wade wilson/slade wilson thing, but over the time they just made him more outlandish. making one of the craziest combatants in the world canadian, until one writer was like "wait a second, this guy could be ryan reynolds", wrote something along the lines of "i look like ryan reynolds crossed with a sharpei" , and the rest is history.
it's like how spawn didn't start out with his suit as a living entity but bc todd mcfarlane drew a leg strap or something on the wrong leg and fans questioned it. he wasn't "originally" based on ryan but over time that's who most DP writers have associated with him

Being that I've liked Ryan Reynolds since at least Van Wilder, maybe even earlier, and since I've always like Deadpool from Marvel; for me this is one of the best marriages of an actor their character, their role. His personality and humor fits perfectly with Deadpool's wisecracks. I don't think I could see anyone else play as Deadpool.

I grew up in a very bad way, and some of the most absolute, horrendous ways, but I didn't let it define my life, my future or anything, I broke all of the cycles in my family, and my children were raised with a lot of love and understanding, and I raised them the right way, and I raised all of my siblings to I'm telling you this because of what you said to me just now, when it comes to questioning things and helping others I've done it all of my life, but because of everything I went through growing up and everything I had to do. It made it possible for me to truly help people with disabilities and to help people who had been mentally verbally, physically and sexually abused, growing up, I have a support group online, and I talk to disabled people all of the time, whenever I can, especially if they're angry, or they're suicidal because of it, I try to step in and get them to accept their disabilities so that they can move on once again, I'm telling you these things because you said you recently changed and you're caring about people that's why I'm sharing my story so that you would know that sometimes you can change, you just had to put the work in and you don't have to hold on to anything in your past either, you can let it go, I don't know the things you've been through or anything, but I'm glad that you're changing, and you're starting to care more and help people that is a great quality in someone I do it all of the time, I'm sorry if I was rude with my message and to make it very clear that I don't have him on a pedestal, and I don't love him, I just respect the fact that he has helped children. But thank you for reaching back out. I appreciate it and I'm glad you shared all of that with me have a good night.

@@Adam-edits true, but here's the pitch: The character of Gwen is not given a script, and is just portrayed as a MCU/cinema fan that's been kidnapped to play in Deadpool's very own movie. Her "powers" revolve around the reality of her situation (being on set, improving with actors) basically the whole movie is b-roll. Ryan Reynolds is directing, in full Deadpool costume, and gives Gwen stage directions from off camera, and the plot is inconsequential but mostly involve Gwen taking the director's role from Ryan, and staging a coup on-set with everyone else being totally in-character.
He really hated that Green Lantern suit. 🤣🤣🤣

@@sahara3607 I'll admit I have a fairly negative view of Hollywood celebrities. I assume that most of them are morally bankrupt. I shouldn't just assume that every one of them is just, because a lot of them are. This might have been completely done out of charity and I shouldn't assume that it wasn't. You also shouldn't assume my character though either. I've spent years volunteering and if I was going to participate in a charity I wouldn't expect payment.
