After all, Mappa is just the studio hired by the production committee to handle the production, don't be confused.

It's not dependent on budget. They're cutting things because of 2 possible reasons.
1) lack of time.
2) The directors choice. They need to pace things correctly to fit the episode count.
Raymond Campusano cutting 70% of the story and fights ??? Thatâs a pretty bold statement considering thereâs only 2 episodes. If anything, most of the stuff that was skipped was either unnecessary to the actual plot of the show or it was something that could easily be put into a flashback. It doesnât take much brain cells to understand this brodie. Plus there isnât much plot in the very beginning of the show anyways, so idk how you can skip something thatâs hardly even there. The only solid plot points in the very beginning are the main characters ambitions and their reasons for having such ambitions, all of which can be dealt with through flashbacks which would be presented when the time is right. Sure, as a Webtoon reader myself, I will say that it sucks that the ambitions and the reasons for those ambitions were âskippedâ over (for now), but honestly, I think it was an amazing directorâs choice, especially for newcomers of the series. The plot really only starts to genuinely develop once Charyeok, Jegal and Moriâs grandpa are introduced, so quit whining. Also what fights have they skipped? The fight with Mori and R? OMEGALUL

I think part of the thing that makes the animation in theses fights so good is that the characters actually have to get to where they are instead of instantaneously appearing behind the enemy. So there's plenty of dynamic running and jumping, which makes even the anime logic of fights more appealing.
The animation for this is amazing
Webtoon material: goes into extreme detail about the origin of northern taekwondo and its uses.
Anime: "hmm? Oh yeah it's dangerous, idk"
Considering they have to condense that into 23 minutes this is pretty much all you need. Not to mention you are literally seeing it in action not really a need to show that since that backstory in the comic was emphisizing that same point

@@riotsel9403 i can easily follow the story. They literally have a pattern of give back story then procreed to fight. The story is just straight to the point consistantly. There is no fluff which was the authors intent between both iterations of the series. But obviously when you have a limited time on stuff you have to cut even the slightest fat considering he wanted to emphisize the combat more for the show. If you treat the show as a visual for the fights and manhwa as basically the encyclopedia it works really well. If you havent read the comic then go read it if your lost on something in the show for extra info, but that info wasnt required to drive the plot along nor was it super important either for character building.

"SPOILER-ISH"
In the webtoon, instead of Jin kicking Kang after what Kang did to Gamdo, he punches him instead. This punch is probably one coolest things we see in the first few chapters and I wish they would've done it in the anime. It would've been cool something like Saitama's punch from when he fought Genos and blew away the mountain. Also in the webtoon, we see Jin's level temporarily rise from 6 to 13 after he kicked Kang out of the ring, that would've been a cool detail to see. Even then, this episode was very enjoyable to watch.
I think they've probably done away with the levels for the most part because there's no real good way to cut to it without interrupting the animation.
When someone comment the fight later they can add this detail.
