    Great work thanks for the video. I have the 25-50 supermax drum sander and after the warranty period ended I made up a new lid for it that has two 5" ports. Aside from less escaping dust I have found my sanding roll lasts a lot longer, too.

    Very good explanation of your new vacuum systems Gilbert.....You won't have that very fine dust like you had before.... Never seen a unit like this but I sure it's top notch because I know you do your research....should serve you well for many years.....CHEERS

    Nice review. I'm in the UK and have the RL125 which is brilliant. Really wish I had the workshop space you have. Wow your taxes do seem high. Best wishes, Mark.

    Thank you for the video! I was wondering if you have any idea's about the inner workings of the RL160? Does it work with a (horizontal) cyclone, or does it have another smart system to direct the dust into the bins?

    Great tip on the bags! Do the chips pass through the impeller or is it like a cyclone collector?

    Great shop! What are the dimensions, including ceiling height? I am designing a new shop. I plan on several Felder machines as well. Keep up the great work.

    I am looking at buying an RL-200. I'm trying to decide if I want the automatic pneumatic cleaning option. So I'm curious, if you didn't clean/brush your filter, how many days (or machine hours) would it take before the yellow light came on? Assuming you're not using your sander, I would think that could plug up the filters pretty quick. Thanks!

    Nice video review. If I can ask, what flip stops do you use on your fritz and franz jig?

    • @frenchriversprings
      @frenchriversprings  Před 3 lety

      I had the kreg flip stop but recently made a new fritz and Franz using the woodpecker flip stop. I fing the kreg too bulky.

    hi , ive just picked up a used rl 160. Can I ak your advice - im running 2-3 machine ( no more than 2 at a time) -they have 125mm extraction ports.Do you run the 160mm pipe as long as you can and downsize to the 125mm as late as possible? or transition gradually? any help appreciated

    ..great video Gilbert!
    May I ask for some "in action" dust extraction? Maybe only that is missing from this video. On Pl.-Thicknesser or table saw.
    Then would be a really honest review.

    Nice review. Is the RL single phase? What size of Breaker are you using?

    • @frenchriversprings
      @frenchriversprings  Před 3 lety

      Yes mine is single phase but you can also get it in 3 phase. 30 Amp breaker is required.

    Where did you buy the adapter I'm hoping they will have the right size for me I purchased the 140 and I'm having trouble finding the right size.

  • @alexxxg310
    @alexxxg310 Před rokem

    I have to say, there are only a handful of CZcams videos on the Felder RL-160 and this one is undoubtedly the best. I was searching for the video because I am purchasing one this week. After seeing your video, I feel like like I have a better idea of what I'm getting for my $8549. FYI.. The Auto Filter Cleaner adds $948 to cost. And since I don't have 3 phase, Felder adds $761 for the single phase 230v motor.😔. I would like to make one correction to your video though, I'm pretty sure I heard you say that the CFM on this machine was 3000. The correct CFM for the RL-160 is 1883cfm.
    Aside from that....GREAT VIDEO, THANKS!

    • @frenchriversprings
      @frenchriversprings  Před rokem

      Thank you. I also have the single phase. You will love. I got a electrician to hook up all my machine to the vaccum. So when I start a machine the vaccum start automatically.

      @@frenchriverspringsThe dust bin is very difficult to empty. They sell overpriced bags that get sucked up into the filter and block airflow unless they're weighted down with sawdust. Doesn't help with new bags. I'm having to use an Oneida cyclone separator in front of the RL. It uses a drum which is much easier to empty. I wish I had just gotten a complete Oneida to begin with.
