Reminds me of ReportOfTheWeek. He wears fine clothing daily, although not fitted as well as Kirby! Maybe he can do a collab and get him into a Bespoke suit!
As a northern, working class man from England, I love these videos. Even though you appeal to the upper class, I/we still have fine garments and love these tutorials. I know you love London but you really should get to Manchester Kirby…. It’s the capital of the north, with fine, upstanding people (a lot more welcoming them southerners). Keep up the good work mate
Frankly, I use a washing machine. I have a Miele with the wool program. I use a mesh garment bag to wash with the lowest spin cycle speed. I also dry on a towel with an additional step. I lay out the sweater on a bath towel flat, then I roll the towel with sweater inside, to dry it a bit. Then I use another towel to lay it out flat again. Been doing this way for years and it works well.
I'm knitting high quality garments and I use very expensive yarns and I'm afraid to harm my knitwear, so this video was really useful for me. I learnt to take care of the sweater if I don't have time to knit the same sweater again. Thank you dear Kirby for great videos. I adore you honey!
I have a device that looks like a mini camp bed with a mesh like material that you can spread jumpers out on, very handy. The obvious reverence for your grandfather's garment, good to see you still taking care of it. By the way, your wedding ring was particularly shiny today.
I am also interested in the fountain pen you used to note the measurements. Looks beautiful!! Why not have a small video about fountain pens and your collection please?
Kirby, I found your excellent videos on caring for suede sneakers. Spring will be here soon, and my leather sneakers will be pulled out of winter storage. I can't find a video on caring for leather sneakers. Can you do one?
When I get to the point of the rinse, I change the rinse water a few times. After the rinsed sweater has been on the towel for about half a day, I change out the towel to a dry towel.
In the UK our front loading washing machines have wool and silk setting. Essentially mimicking a hand wash. Never had an issue. I'm wearing a knitwear jumper today that's 15years old and still looks new. Just use non-bio detergent sparringly and no fabric softener.

looks like im gonna have to stop putting my woolens in the washer. i do have a few questions on sweaters as someone who gets their knitwear made by hand. do you have any favourite mills for quality yarn? what are your thoughts on high lanolin content sweaters made from oil in yarn? ive got a project in the works and im not sure how much of the oil i want to wash out by hand.
Mr Kirby, I have idea for another video. When you reach 300,000 subscribers, I suggest you to make video about White tie ensemble. Thanks for making world better place.
i bought the shoe shine starter kit but when i got my order, it's missing the cedar shoe box. i need that box that's why i ordered that shoe shine starter kit instead of presidential kit.
I do not know what is considered a high quality knitwear, but i bought a fairly expensive wool sweater (at least expensive for my pocket, 130 euros) from Camel Active store. I put it in the washing machine and set the program for wool and sensitive. When it dried the day after i noticed especially on the sleeves that some parts of the wool kind of came apart, like chunks of the wool rolled into balls. Did the washing machine just ruined my new sweater? Should i revert to only hand washing it?
I have a question sir I am confused between saphir bdc renovateur and bdc cream surfine what is the basic difference and will cream surfine condition the shoe??
creme surfine is just shoe polish man. it will recolor and slightly condition the shoes, whereas renovateur adds no coloration to the shoe but nourishes and moisturizes it instead.
Something we probably didn't make clear enough is that you should only expect to do this once or twice per season. You generally don't want to launder premium outerwear every time you wear it, so once you've completed one or two rotations through your knitwear collection, then you can plan on spending an hour or two washing all of them at once.
Did he say his grandfathers name was "Daddy Boy"? Also, man the way he handles an urushi lacquer fountain pen, just all the microscratches are happening there.
He lost his mind after spending so much money on suits. Doing formal laundry. How many such rich idiot are in western countries? Grand father sweater :) you could use grandpa coffin too for drying instead of towel.
While not as amusing as the shaving in a suit video, I think you should make this a running gag. I want to see Kirby brick-laying in a suit and tie!
😂😂😂😂😂

Great video Kirby. Can you show us how to properly launder money next??
Still working on figuring out how to make enough of it to have any left over at the end of the day…

Great garment advice Mr. Allison
A really useful video Kirby! I’ve always put off laundering my sweaters as I didn’t really know how. Thanks 🙏
Super Video Kirby. As always, the jacket is awesome, the design does not let go of one thing.

i'm pretty sure he already has a video up on that subject which he uploaded in the past. you just need to look through his huge library of videos
excellent video and information! I just washed some knitwear this week. I wish I had seen this first!
HELLO elegant even when doing laundry

4k60. Epic Kirby.
Off topic, but serious question. I wonder what kind of gun he would carry or at least have for the house. There are plenty of gentlemen’s guns.
Does it not smell like a damp dishcloth after lying flat slowly drying for all those hours 🤔

Yep. His nickname was “Daddyboy” - no one really knows how it came about.
I am new here, I expected a fancy kingsman accent. Lol
I’d just call the Byrd family and have them launder it.
