- The Secret Doctrine was Blavatsky's magnum opus and became a foundational contribution to modern esoteric philosophy. The core of this work are the "stanzas of dzyan," a collection of secret aphorisms that describe the development of the universe and humanity from an esoteric point of view. In this talk, Pablo Sender will explore the sources of this extraordinary book and its main teachings.

Pablo Sender, Ph.D., has been a member of the Theosophical Society (TS) since 1996 and has presented lectures, seminars, and classes around the world. He has worked at the International Headquarters of the TS in Adyar, and currently lives at the Krotona Institute of Theosophy, in Ojai, CA. He is the author of Evolution of the Higher Consciousness, and his articles have been published in Theosophical journals internationally in several languages.

I tried to read H.P. Blavatsky years and years ago but it didn't fit with my ideas at that time. As I've gotten older and more open, I'm back to try again. This lecture helped me learn about Blavatsky in a really easily understood way. I realize that now the time is right for me to understand her more. Now her ideas match mine better. Thank you for such a wonderful lecture!

There is only one soul with multiple expressions. There is no beginning and ending as it has always been a continuous circle. The separation identity says there is God and Me, desire being the dividing nature of being. As long as we desire or want something we continue to exist. The last desire is to have no more desires except to become one with God, the source of being.

Not many realize that OPB was a cousin to the most accomplished in all the Russian history politician- prime minister Witte . Witte also begins his memoir writing about her- OPB. Among other things: Witte successfully brokered the Portsmouth treaty and stopped the war with Japan. I was privileged to be close to his relatives. Will never forget how my closest childhood friend, from that family family once told me regarding war: evil only create evil , only to be stopped by eradicating the cause of evil. We were 18 then, only entering into some understandings. One needs to learn who Witte was to grasp a scale of Blavatsky influence, besides Gandhi , etc
The methods of Adepts are identical to advise of Lord Gautama Buddha, when He advised, "test all knowledge and wisdom rather than accepting it without investigation..."(paraphrasing). This is an essential practice method. Thank you for the presentation.

Dont take anybody word but scrutinized these teachings but pray and meditate immensely. @@junkbondtrader645 Thinking that only one teacher can be right is ignoring the reality of the god within. It is an antithesis of the teaching of Jesus, whom expresses the reality of inner divinity - but at the time, aka 2000+ years ago, his teaching had to match the vibrational state of the collective. It is no longer fully compatible with our current vibrational state (which can be measured by the amount of suffering experienced by the majority) so yes, new teachers emerges and are more suited than Jesus to guide people toward themselves. Mastery of self is the goal, for without it collective peace is impossible. Peace is the goal. Evolution through peace is the goal. It's really simple, when you are ready to accept it for what it is.

I just recently read Alice Bailey’s Glamour: A World Problem, admittedly I only understood about half of what I was reading but I was intrigued about the other half, I know there is a lot of wisdom there that I still can’t comprehend but I just bought some books by Blavatsky, hopefully to grow my understanding...I don’t know what I got myself into but I’m excited, so many interesting ideas!!

The “emerald tablets of Thoth” never existed, it was a concept that was made up in the 50s by a Rosicrucian scholar, forgot his name. The emerald tablet (singular) of Hermes did exist though and served as an inspiration for modern hermeticism.

Thank you for this wonderful exposition. I joined the TS in my 20's because it explained a lot of here-and-now physical phenomena but I left because it went counter to my Western mindset. Now my mindset has shifted and I can see more clearly the truth of this path.

In reading her works, I got the impression that she started out from the right place but proceeded from a baser level, more to do with convoluted intellectual theories that served her ego, than from the spirit.
Early modernism philosopher Rene Descartes' advocated "meditations on first philosophy" which H.P. Blavatsky "knowledge through meditation" thesis references implicitly.
_we live in the dark shadow of Renee descartes. His so-called "meditations" are responsible for the great divide we have between subject and object, self and other, mind and matter. This split is worse than you might realize. To such an extent that we effectively need to go back -- go back to these "meditations" you speak of -- and pull out the linchpin he placed on humanity._

We studied his works in my Rhetorical Theory Masters courses and many were terribly divided and disjointed in their thinking on his premises. I didn't care for him at all.
She not only got info from that Akashic records & other demensions, she actually traveled the world and saw the ancient knowledge herself. Cool!

I read her writings when I was 18 years of age, but I still found that the scriptures dealt far better with this kind esoteric reasoning. Despite this, the assertion of ego in the context of the immortality of the soul which was popularised by Norman Vincent Peale and also the unscriptural assertions by many quasi religious denominations, leaves us with aimless wonderings of unverifiable sources much of which is sourced from the Buddhist/Hindu nexus of their theological branch separations and is also expressed in Greco roman esoteric teachings.
I like how she speaks of visions. I sometimes suffer them myself and I feel I may have met her in one. One time very vividly I found myself in a wood workshop, I started calling out if anyone was there. A stoic looking woman then appeared to me dressed in green robes, I went to shake her hand but she gave me a strange look, as if to say we know each other better, so I hugged her and asked "Why dont I remember you?" "Next time you will." She replied. Since then I can think of no one else this lady looked more like than Madame Blavatsky herself.

I had a similar dream with one of my spirit guides. In my dream I was in front of an older woman and she said, “I remember you, welcome back!”. Then I said, “I don’t know you!”. Then she said, “I remember your star.” Then she pointed to the star tattoo on my shoulder and I ran away and woke up.
As I was meditating in my room, asking for spiritual guidance, a stranger came to my residence. He had a very powerful look in his eyes. Very cultured and intelligent looking. He gave a hug all the while looking deeply into my eyes. He said to make contact with Babaji. A tear fell, from my eye and he wiped the tear with his hand. Shortly after he left, I went into a deep trance. I couldn't talk to anyone about it. If I did I would go back into trance.

Terence McKenna’s “stoned-ape” theory addresses the evolution of intelligence from apes to homosapiens. It certainly sounds plausible to me. Really wish HPB were here to address this.

I first read her work in 1970, and find it ironic how successive generations "discover" her and metaphysics for the first time in history. Reading it was like running in mud.

I've been to the Theosophical Society in Ojai a few times now. I go specifically to their bookstore, many Occult/Esoteric topics & subjects to delve into, plus some are used & sell for cheap.
I visited the Philosophical Research Society many times when I lived in Los Angeles. The prayer at the base of the Egyptian statue, which I read often, is not an Egyptian prayer but a verse from the Isopanishad.
@Check Playlist 4 Truth Yes. It is one of the Upanishads, which are found in the Vedas. I believe that it is the shortest Upanishad. The prefix "Iso" comes from the word "Isa" which means Lord. In this text it refers to the Sun.

I don’t know if it was his favourite book. He was a known fan of Helena Blavatsky’s book “isis unveiled”.
He was also greatly influenced by the work of Baruch Spinoza. Primarily the book “ethics”.
The book describes God as the natural order, with humans being the "modes" of God.
Einstein said himself that "I believe in Spinoza's God, who reveals himself in the harmony of all that exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fate and the doings of mankind."

Good on Madam H. Blavatsky, she credited the Tibetans adepts with some of her beliefs. Tibetans practiced a form of buddhism and so what she's saying is familiar to a Buddhist.

Has anybody noticed starting from slide @ 47:48 something which is very similar to the big bang is being described? I checked once I reached this part, and found that the secret doctrine was published on 1888 and the big bang initially suggested on 1920 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can find much more by studying the book. I do it for more than twenty years and it never ends.

Madame Helena Blavatsky became the first internationally famous professional psychic and she was also a brilliant occult con artist who drew such figures as G. B. Shaw and William Butler Yeats into her bizarre web. She was the first flower child , who journeyed to India for a bizarre purpose , almost 100 years before the hippie hegira of the 1960s
HPB’s ( Helena Petrovna Blavatsky ) maternal lineage goes back through Prince Michael of Chernigov to Rurik, founder of the Russian state at Novgorod. H.P. Blavatsky’s great grandfather, Prince Pavel Vasilyievich Dolgorukov (1755-1837) was a Major General during the reign of Ekaterina the Great. Going further back her family is traceable back to German Carolingian dynasty.
Helena knew fluent German at a young age, though she was born in Ukraine as Helena von Hahn. For some time her family was in the Khazar area ( Georgia ) where all current Israeli Jews are from . You can hardly believe a word of what she tells about herself and her past -such was her capability for deception.
On June 7, 1849 young 17 year old Helena Petrovna got married to the 41 year old vice-governor of Erevan, Nikifor Vladimirovich Blavatsk.. Soon after the wedding , even before the honeymoon she escaped . She would die a virgin though she married twice. On April 3, 1875, in New York, Blavatsky formally married Michael Betanelly, a Georgian Jew living in America. The marriage dissolved after a few months as soon as she became an American citizen. Blavatsky helped found the Theosophical Society in New York City in 1875 along with Henry Steel Olcott , with the motto, "There is no Religion higher than Truth" . In February 1879, Blavatsky and Olcott and arrived in India .
In 1882, Rothschild gave them a headquarters of the Theosophical Society in Adyar, in the southern suburbs of Madras, which still exists today. Known as the "Huddleston Gardens," the Theosophical Society campus lies on the south bank of the Adyar River and covers more than 265 acres of prime land.
The garden has exotic plants, birds , animals , and insects. Trees include the rare mahogany and other trees imported and planted from across the globe. The garden also has a 500 -year-old banyan tree, whose aerial roots cover some 65,000 sq m.From 1879 to 1888 Blavatsky edited the magazine The Theosophist. In 9 years flat Madame Blavatsky would bamboozle this planet with occult and spirituality , and lay the foundation for Nazi Aryan Pride , from which the Jewish state of Israel would be born.
Madame Blavatsky is the only woman who asserted, dominated, and started the first religion ever by any woman... Theosophy. She competed with Buddha, Mahavira, Zarathustra, Jesus, Mohammed, Guru Nanak and even Joseph Smith ( the creator of Rothschild funded religion Mormonism )- all men whom humans worship .
This popular awareness can be traced directly back to Blavatsky’s work, which first introduced such ideas to Western thought by way of several books she authored .

Yet, she had an incredible and far reaching effect and her admirers and critics alike , and she changed the face of world spirituality forever.
Initially the Theosophical Society had an alliance with an organization run by a Hindu Swami Sarasvati. One fine day the Swami denounced Madame Blavatsky and her Yank sidekick Ollcott as charlatans and broke off the partnership.
So, what are these her teachings? Blavatsky's Theosophy deals with such hokum as the "seven root races". The god like giant Aryan race lived on Atlantis and lost their god-like status by intermarrying with the "semi-human" Jews. The intermarrying with Jews caused the Aryans to devolve, according to Blavatsky.
To keep the double agent game going Blavatsky called Judaism a "religion of hate and malice toward everyone and everything outside itself." , while the Aryans were the most advanced people spiritually. Her Theosphy is nothing but poorly understood Hindu spirituality from ancient texts and recycled occult which made gobbledy gook with a strong flavor of anti-Semitism and anti-Christianism thrown in for good measure.

Madam Blavatsky was a Gnostic in her interpretation of Christianity. Gnosticism existed thousands of years ago and has nothing to do with ideas about a New World Order, which is a bugbear of the New Age movement.
She was a fan of lucifer, and wrote a book about him.

Lucifer is simply a Latin word meaning "light bringer" or "morning star"...that's why in the Latin translation of the New Testament Christ is called Lucifer (morning star). It's similar to the word Satan... a Hebrew word meaning "adversary" or "enemy"....which is why in the original Hebrew version of the Old Testament Yahweh is called "satan" in some passages....translated in English as "enemy". Blavatsky & Theosophists are Pantheists or Panentheists, & so there is a unity in the totality of being, called either the universe or God. Lucifer is associated with the higher Self (Atman-Christ consciousness) & she usually associated the Yahweh god, who required regular animal sacrifices & 'burnt offerings' with the 'god of this world' (ie. satan) or symbolising the collective host of archons, fallen angels etc. Once again though, the archons are part of the 'one Self' & are seen as necessary to evolution. As for the NWO she was not an idealist as far as I can tell & was aware of the duality within any system & universe as a whole...so there would be positives & negatives to any governing body. A one world government would probably be seen as an inevitable stage in the development of the human race, based around hierarchies....the family, the tribe, the nation etc...expanding to the 'universal'. But as I said just as the sun is seen as the head of the planetary hierarchy, it can both give life & death....just as God is the creator & also the 'consuming fire'.

Blavatsky was a Gnostic, and Gnosticism has a unique interpretation of Lucifer.
As I understand it, Lucifer is the planet Venus - the Morning Star and the Evening Star - Phosphorus and Hesperus.
Lucifer means "Light Bearer" , or "Bringer of Light".
Venus is considered to be Earth's older sister planet, a few cycles ahead of us.
I think the Catholic Church gave the bad name to it, same as they did to Pan, who became the "Devil".
