I know it's been a long time since this was posted; but it's good to see someone else saves Kaidan. Starting to feel like I am in a very small minority.
See, I always picked the lower options. Seriously Kaidan get the hell off the ship, it's exploding and you're all "I'm not leaving because arbitrary drama." Joker's was understandable, but seeing as I walked out the door and saw the planet, not the fucking ceiling, so shut up, get in the pod, so I can get spaced.
Lame that you can't get this scene or the version with Ash on the PS3. LLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMEEEEEE. You'd think Kaiden and Ash would be the defaults, not Liara. They always seemed more... canon to me. I only picked Liara over Ash as MShep because I wanted to save Kaiden, and didn't want the love interest to die. And she's kinda dorky :)
+seatbelttruck I only found out a few weeks ago that there were different versions of the opening cinematics with Kaidan and Ashley-since I played the trilogy on PS3, I only ever saw the Liara version and assumed that was the only one they made, to save on having to animate different versions of the scene or whatever. Only now I learn that there's actually 3 different versions of that opening scene, and that it's supposed to be the ME1 LI who talks to Shepard during the Normandy's destruction... **shrugs** I personally can't stand Liara, played her romance once to see what all the fuss was about and wished that I could've left her on Virmire instead of Kaidan or Ashley. Unfortunately you're stuck with her through the entire trilogy.
+Meredith Dustin The only reason it's Liara is because she's the one who can't die in ME1. ME2 was released before ME1 on PS3, and the interactive comic that lets you choose the ME1 story begins after the prologue.

This has got to be my favorite video game opening scene of all time.
I have a lot of nostalgia around playing the trilogy for the first time.

If you're playing the PS3 version, you'll always get liara regardless of who you romance
You have to have a save from mass effect 1
