Couldn’t you do the washer trick with just the controller inside the housing? Unscrew the controller. Add washers to the back, screw it back down (might also need to worry about thermal padding on the raised bit)

Make sure to blue locktite those screws! You can't torque em down all the way with the rubber bushings, gonna wanna lock em in.
Personally I don’t use loctite since I’m always doing stuff to my board - so I ever have any on hand 🤣 thx you for the tip and support man! Let’s get it

I just wont update. Till I get my rails important to know that the app is locked out for the update, but you can still see your miles per hour if you have an Apple Watch. You can change your lights change your mode

You could use a router to cut out that plastic grid. It would probably fit better and would definitely look cleaner. Might be more prone to cracking though. I guess that depends on if that grid is for strength, or just there to fill in the empty space.

I thought the same thing when I saw the melted bumper 🤦
Also, the Landshark bash bumpers make life much easier. Their “grid” section is nowhere near as tall and doesn’t need to be modified for clearance. You only need to shave the area that butts up to the handle recess in the controller box. Much much easier.

Thx for the comment dude ! Much appreciated on the view too! 2024 🤙🤙🤙 she’s dope pretty dope but grab a billet 6 inch today! Add the 5 down the line to board #2 when she comes out. It’s like having a bag of golf clubs -You need all wheels in the bag. The 6 has a better top speed and way better tire options, the 5 could be used in particular trails and vice versa. At seek and shred the 6 was the fastest down the mountain at time trials and there were 5 inch prototypes there ! Let’s get it ! 💪💪💪
Why not just shim the mounting of the control board inside the box and avoid having to destroy the waffle of the front bumper?
Poor man usually ain’t smart man 😂😂😂 this was easy, rearranging the controller inside would def be difficult 😞 thanks for the comment tho ! Great idea 💡 do it and then post about it - would be sick if you could figure that one out
I had this same idea, but it doesn’t work because the Footpad & Motor connections are on a daughter PCB that is soldered vertically to the Controller PCB with almost zero headroom between it and the cover for the controller box.
The 2 PCBs would need to be separated & redesigned to (safely) accommodate any degree of internal tilt.
Yo jeff! Got a question. So lets just take the tfl dubs for example: They lift the controller at +3 degrees right? Its a 3 degree tilt. Custom shaping 3.0 can allow you to change the ride tilt. Couldnt you just put it to -3 degrees? And if so, because the 357s are a 3.5, would that just not work bc they just go by whole numbers? Or do they?
You certainly can but i don’t like how that feels where it’s always nose hunting. Just roll it back and level it and then update again for the W. The poor man is a good option who don’t want to mess with it tho. I really appreciate the question man! I rode my xr dubs at first in custom with the nose up and I could tell it was using more energy and felt weaker when I pushed it , bc of that I just rode delirium and rode with the lowered nose at front .
@@jeffadairshreds Ah I see. So you can but its negatively affect your ride. In any case. Here's my situation: I have a gt with steep n deeps. I am going to upgrade to 357s before race season next year. I hate the sogginess of my gt without the update but I'm willing to stick it out until I can get them. however, this doesn't seem to be the only way. Anyway, I don't know how to do that. Could you tell me?

It’s possible most def - you just couldn’t have the custom shaping

@@jeffadairshreds Of course. Im saying roll back to before haptic buzz and custom shaping, level the board because your in a firmware that doesn't block it, and then go back to the new one because it won't reject previous leveling, just stop you from doing it while in the new firmware

If the area around you wasn't so flat, I would ask if that lot is for sale! We're are spoiled up in the Northwest... when it's not raining that is. When my neighbor got his, after riding mine, he said he would never ride trails... Now that he has ridden trails, experienced that locked-in flow state sensation, he says asphalt is no longer as satisfying. Having said that, anywhere with a OneWheel beneath you is better than a OneWheel beside you.

So why haven't we just made custom bumpers to compensate for what we would've done to that waffle honeycomb? Like for a $300/$400 you get to purchase your front bumper 😏 and throw in the rubber grommet/steel washers and the hardware. I bet they'd pay. I know I would have.

I'm gonna try to save my money and get that billet 6". I want to get stupid & mount a 12x8-6 I believe I'm gonna need to make some modifications but I'll figure that out once I get to that hurdle 🤞🏻🥴
