For all haters, this is Skoda chasis with an old Skoda 1.4 litre OHV 8 valve engine with pushrods, just added turbo and modern ignition... There is no V8 engine inside... Credit where it's due, this build definitely deserves some respect... Would it survive crashing into a cardboard box? Probably not, but it kicked some supercar asses in this event for sure...
Yes.....and it died after 2 or more hours? No interest.
I realised that its original engine just when i listen it...we had this car at home...and sure light weight is the trick, it must have max 800kg...

This Škoda is only envelope around beast of engine. While other cars are original, this is turbo engineered. So let's be honest.

I always loved these old Skoda's. There wasn't many of them in England when I was growing up but I live in Hungary now and I see them all the time and they still make me smile. Great rear engine cars and really underappreciated.

@@tridneven It is, and from what I can tell it's even got the same engine. It's just been tuned. Remember, back then you couldn't get the more advanced components to make the car more powerful and reliable.

One of the funniest things I ever saw was when Skoda had the 130RS I think it was called; it basically had a rally engine in it. Anyway there was 2 lads at the lights in an XR3i and they thought they'd be funny and race this Skoda off the lights. They went on amber, the Skoda went on Green; I'd love to have seen the XR3 driver's face when it blew past them like they were going backwards. Funniest thing I'd ever seen to that point. I was in my early 20's and had a Skoda Estelle 2 myself.
Years ago I worked as a cooling tech for a radiator company,a rather tatty very low,white 120 turned up for a rad.I noticed the cage and seats immediately,after popping the engine cover we found the owner had fitted a tuned Lancia volumex engine,sounded the nuts and went like shit off a stick!,great stuff.
It is very nice to see a "simple" Skoda from 80s, (not far from stock version) to beat all the big, muscled, too rich supercar. It is better than Davide against Goliah!

The best memories ..about my 120l, in 1986. and the 130 some time later! Nobody wanted that thing in the Netherlands, but for me IT was more then ok.

Ta Škodovka jim ujede možná tak na 500 m, pak se do toho vloží koníci a Škodu nechajé v prachu i bez tuningu. Měl štěstí, že tam nestartovalo některé novější turbo od Porsche. Chtěl bych vidět, jak by se držel na 1km.

no ved ano, ale mna zarazilo hlavne to, ze niekto chvali Skodovku ale uz nenapise, ze ta Skodovka mala spraveny tunning kdezto konkurencne sportiaky ziaden extra tunning neurobili so svojim motorom... a pritom by sa tiez dalo vymysliet hocco... nemusi to byt ani turboduchadlo zrovna

I had one and loved it. My previous car had been a mini metro which struggled to reach 70. Some teen-ager asked me if the skoda would do 30? Idiot! I used to do 70 in 3rd. When I took the ferry to France I regularly did 140kph with the feeling it would do more, but it was 10years old when I got it and didn't want to push it too hard. You could stash an amazing amount of booze behind the rear seats. Most comfortable car I've ever driven!
I miss my old Skoda RS from the 70's the model before this car in the video.
That was stock putting a turbo on a Skoda in the early 80's was behind my means .
But it was light and handled well I suprized many other cars with that little nimble car.
I like what the guy did here on the outside it looks just like the basic road car nothing much gives away it's secret. A true sleeper car .
I would have loved to have done this back when I had mine .
Od razu pomyślałam o Race Wars z szybkich i wściekłych . Tylko że tam bohaterowie musieli posiłkować swoje auta NOS-em . Szacunek za objechanie "Italii".👏👍
Z objechaniem Italii bym się tak nie ekscytował.
Raczej Kierowca nie jechał na 100% i słychać też po obrotach silnika.

Years ago I had a friend who's dad owned a garage , they took a bog standard Ford Sierra estate (1.6 litre) with all the badges still on and dropped a Sierra Cosworth engine in it. As standard those make about 200 brake horsepower , he bumped the boost up so she was making around 450 brake! Uprated the brakes ,suspension reinforced the chassis etc but it still looked pretty standard. Many a great time was had at the lights.....that thing would blow away ANYTHING.

I had a red Skoda 120 in the early 90s (just after the fall of the wall). Good car, just one small problem: the picture! Here in Belgium, other drivers would have put themselves in the ditch to "have the pleasure" of overtaking me, just because this car had a poor and unemployed image. But one thing is for sure, the price-quality ratio is unbeatable!

Myślę, że szoku nie ma żadnego ponieważ są zakręty i ta skoda raczej wiele nie pokaże biorąc pod uwagę: zawieszenie, układ hamulcowy, układ kierowniczy. Na wprost to się cipy ścigają. Najważniejsza jest średnia prędkość z punktu A do punktu B.
@@tlokston Aha. Znajdź sobie opis budowy tego auta na Racingforum.pl. Przeczytasz tam że cała reszta jest kompleksowo przebudowana wg. homolagacji rajdowej wersji grupy B - Skody 130LR/B. Jak poszukasz dobrze w google to się dowiesz że tak przygotowane Skody masakrowały 30 lat temu wszystkich konkurentów w swojej klasie, a niejednokrotnie pokonywały przeciwników z klas wyższych. Wnioski z powyższego wyciągnij sam
@@KolekPrzemek_Skoda120Turbo Bardzo fajnie. Tylko samochody lat 30 temu prowadziły się gorzej niż obecne sportowe samochody. Dla mnie samochód sportowy to m.in Nissan GTR, Porsche GT3, Porsche GT3Rs. Najważniejsze przy budowie samochodu jest zaprojektowanie od podstaw układ jezdnego, układu nośnego, układu hamulcowego, rozłożenie masy. Przerabianie samochodu nie da takiego efektu jak samochód przerabiany. Na ten temat coś wiem, kończyłem dwie uczelnie techniczne. Tak więc tyle w temacie.
@@tlokston Wiesz co.. ja nie ukończyłem żadnej uczelni technicznej przyznam się bez bicia.. szkoda że jednak na taką nie poszedłem bo miałbym teraz więcej rozumu w głowie tak jak Ty właśnie i pouczał bym innych zza monitora sącząc piwo zamiast spędzić setki godzin w ciasnym garażu przez 10 lat budując auto, które ma moc i osiągi takie, do jakich się nawet do tej pory nie zbliżyli tunerzy i inżynierowie z Czech i Słowacji z pierdyliardem fakultetów i wyróżnień którzy je modyfikują od 40 lat. .. Ps. nikt nie twierdzi że taka Skoda prowadzi się lepiej od powyższych aut - one się i tak lepiej prowadzą od 99,8% wozów obecnie produkowanych.
Ps.2 - Doświadczenie nauczyło mnie nie dyskutować z osobnikami którzy twierdzą że zawsze wiedzą lepiej bo mają na to "papier", ale dla Ciebie zrobiłem wyjątek bo akurat miałem trochę więcej czasu przy klawiaturze
Pozdrawiam z drugiej strony monitora, ale nazwanie kogoś "cipą" dalej wzbudza u mnie niesmak, szczególnie pisane przez tak wykształconą osobę

Wielkiej filozofii w uzyskaniu dużej mocy z jednostki napędowej raczej nie ma. Problem stanowi uzyskanie dużej mocy przy długotrwałym obciążeniu zmęczeniowym. Chętnie bym zobaczył jak się sprawdzi Twoja skoda na torze przez 1 godzinę jazdy w zakresie obrotów dochodzących do max, redukcje biegów, dohamowywanie przed zakrętami. Nie sądzę aby przetrwała taką próbę. To jest odpowiedź dlaczego inni geniusze po studiach nie potrafią zrobić tak mocnej jednostki albo raczej nie chcą.
Nie masz się co obrażać, moje stwierdzenie było adekwatne do komentarza. Trzeba mieć więcej pokory. Zakładanie, że się jest "mistrzem świata" bo wygrałeś z kilkoma samochodami na prostej drodze jest słabe. Twoja wygrana jest w żaden sposób nie adekwatna do realnych możliwości Twojego samochodu. Większość nowych hot hatche uzyska lepszą średnią prędkość z przejazdu niż Twoja skoda mimo, że na 400 metrów będziesz gromił.

Na Skodzie 120L za dzieciaka uczyłem się na wsi prowadzenia samochodu. W życiu jeździłem Trabantem 601 Universal. Pracowałem jako kierowca autobusu miejskiego w Warszawie. Miło wspominam Skodziankę..
Lubie oglądać jak samochody z dawnego bloku wschodniego, zostawiają w tyle światowe konstrukcje.

ŠKODA 120 we had it when i was kid ( stock ofcourse) when you were driving distance over 50 miles in summer the car started to boil water and got overheated so you needed to wait for it too cool down :D
