This Yankee team is like a jenga tower right now swaying back and forth, one more big piece goes down for a long period and the tower is going to drop, they really need a huge trade deadline which i really don't see, i think at most they get the Marlins closer and some other minor pieces, Vlad Jr or Alonso would be amazing but chances are slim to none for them, fingers crossed for no more big injuries.
Two consecutive offseaons in the last 3 years a plethora of all star short stops were available; wll of them could have played 2nd or 3rd, but Hal didn't want any of them. He believed in volpe and peraza. Only 1 of them is playing quality baseball. Remember when the yankees were unwilling to trade peraza for olsen a couple seasons ago. Olsen is doing great while peraza is in the minors and can't hit big league pitching. Remember when Bryce Harper was dying to play for the Yankees and would have played left field or first base for them? Or what about all the offseaons they avoided drafting and developing catchers because they believed in Gary Sanchez whom they refused to include in a trade for realmuto. Go check pinstripe alley and you'll see them advocating for keeping sanchez over JT. Catcher, corner infield and left field could have been fixed, but they believed in people like Bird, Sanchez, peraza and Stanton among others. Those among many more are decisions made by this front office and ownership. Only when the fans realize the stupidity of the leadership and stop buying the product nothing will change.
If we want Boone out it's time that the press start asking tough questions at the post game conference...and that includes Meredith too!! Stop lobbing him softball questions...once he is put on the spot and can't answer the tough questions they will have to give him the 'heave-ho'...otherwise it's an embarrassment to the organization...you can start by asking why was a .215 batter 2/29 batting cleanup on Tuesday???
