      If you have a trail nearby, take a walk along it and perhaps 200m from the end, take those shoes off and brave the rest of it in your bare feet. Do this a few times with a few days rest in-between, move to 300m, then 500m, then 1km etc., and before you know it, you'll be absolutely loving the experience. I'm almost up to 5km (3 miles) of fully naked feet on trails here in Sydney. It's amazing how quickly you adapt. Of course, I'm not walking in snow or hot, sharp stones - mostly leafy trails here. It seems that after decades of ruining our feet wearing shoes, it can be incredibly difficult and damaging trying to go barefoot or minimalist shoe. I'm going to try and find a transitional shoe and begin working my way down. In the comments I see many people saying they began having PF upon switching to these style shoes. I'm of the opinion it's likely their feet were not prepared for the change. Your feet have been weakened by the years of support. Your feet are now reliant on said support. Wish me luck as I begin my decent into less and less cushioning, I pray my hypothesis is correct. The foot pain I've been under can't be forever as I'm way too young for all this shit lol. God willing I have 40+ years to go, and the nature of my work constitutes being on my feet.

      @daveleitz9107 Před 3 lety +1

      Good observation. And in a lot of cases, people don't want change that requires effort. Instead they want to buy a product that somehow fixes things instantly. They are told that 'barefoot' shoes are good for the feet. They buy some and get soreness and pain. Then they go out and buy the most cushioned shoes they can find. I'm exaggerating, but it seems no accident that hyper-cushioned shoes are such a big part of the market right now.
      I'm using Vibram 5 Finger shoes in my runs. I've always walked around the house barefoot, but even so it took a few months of gradually increasing my time walking in 'barefoot' shoes to the point that I can run a couple miles in them every other day. There is no instant solution to fitness and health.

      I started with Altras, then graduated into a minimalist shoe. I hike a pretty challenging trail in them several times a week. I was wondering the same thing because I high arches. I wore supportive orthotics for years, but continued to suffer with plantar fasciitis. Last summer, I messed things up a lot worse by pushing through PF on a long run in shoes that had already started to break down. It was so pain afterward that I could hardly walk.
      Once the inflammation had subsided, I started wearing some minimalist shoes (Xero HFS). I would just wear them until my feet started to feel tired, then I would either switch to my regular shoes or sit down. After about 3 weeks, I was wearing the Xeros for most of the day and loved it. My feet felt much stronger and have been less injury prone. If you decide to run in these, just be careful to transition slowly. But for walking and other activities, I would say to at least give it a try.

      Try one of the natural remedies for plantar foot. Something as simple as ginger root, which can be bought at your drug store, is a great anti-inflammatory. Ginger root is in a group of plants known as Cox inhibitors. This means they prevent inflammation naturally.
      Another good remedy for pain is Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapples. just drink the raw juice or eat raw pineapple, you can gt advantage from the properties of Bromelain. Enzymes are one of the best remedies for pain because they are all natural and are what your body uses to cure inflammation
