The water & woods painting was so dreary. It reminds me of how I feel in the winter. You did an amazing job of making it no longer dreary, but shine. The water color is so beautiful!

The colors on your landscape are so bold & pretty! And watching you add texture to the mountains was satisfying.
You really erased them from existence at the end. 😆

Thanks. I had fun with it, but even mine didn't go smoothly, since the first one was a disaster. I would still recommend it to people who love painting, as you can always fix mistakes and it's just some harmless fun. It took pressure off, as I didn't have to create something from scratch, I just went with what was there and added to it. 🙂

I really like the second one. It really does look fun and a good learning exercise I reckon. Makes me want to do oils again.

Thanks. Customising stuff is always so much fun. 🙂 We surround ourselves with so many wonderful oil artists that always make me want to learn more and lift my game. I want to try some Chuck Lee style paintings one of these days.

I want to try oil painting so bad. I think it's one of the only mediums I've never tried.

@@melindarivera6598 it is such a great medium. Once people start using it and understanding it, they generally fall in love with it. Thanks for watching ❤️

I like how you made the second painting more vibrant and colorful. Beautiful transformation!
I'm personally not a fan of oils. I tried them once and I felt so lost. I didn't understand how to care for them or clean the brushes. It's hard finding a good tutorial.

❤️ Thank you. It was a fun project. I'd like to do it again, but do something more drastic next time.
When I started oil painting, I found it so hard to find the right information. I did do a small in person class and learn some things, but it still wasn't enough. The best tip I would give anyone is to just clean brushes with dishwashing liquid and water. It breaks down all the oils and your brushes are then almost good as new. I actually use lavender soap which is a brush soap and smells nice. When I started I used turps as I thought you had to, and it was so toxic and I can't even imagine how bad it was for my little cats, when I could still smell it for days. I now try and use oils in non toxic ways.

@@lozantoninocreations I’ve always worried about the toxicity and got intimidated by it. I didn’t know about lavender soap. I might try it again now. Thank you!

@@CourageousPainting I use Gamlin products too to help with the painting. They have some non toxic mediums that are fast drying. I love that technology has improved so much that oil painting can now be done fairly safely. ❤️
