I never will forget the first time I heard Eva....I had my PBS channel running one Saturday evening and I was standing in my kitchen making a sandwich...and this voice came out of the speakers of my television and I stopped the spreading of my mayonnaise and dropped the knife...the hair's on my arms and the back of my neck stood up on end...I immediately went into the living room and sat on my couch watching this beautiful women singing somewhere over the rainbow...the tears started flowing and just chills up and down my spine...I have been singing and playing the guitar since I was 11....been around music my whole life.... hearing her for the first time was a religious experience....of course I didn't know that she had already passed... didn't know anything about this beautiful angel sent from God to touch us...it's that way with all of the very special one's....it's like the Lord is saying ok you can have this one for a short time and then I'm taking her back...and we are so glad that he let us experience this wonderful talent....we are all better people because of it...💘💘💘💘

Until moments ago I had never heard of Eva. I had just finished listening to Sting sing Fields of Gold and I saw her thumbnail above it with over 16ml views so I figured she must be an up and coming beautiful young talent so I played her rendition and was blown away by how great it was. So I played it again, and then again. I started reading the comments and saw one in which the commenter said Sting himself rated Eva's version the most beautiful he had ever heard including his own. And then I read a few more comments and found out she had died years ago. Until moments ago I had never heard of her. Thank God for Eva and thank God for CZcams and those who post here.

Yes you can. We are shoveled mediocrity and award it so that when you come across a real artist you think its magic. She learned, practiced and crafted her art. Everything she's doing is pretty basic beside the guitar playing. But the timing of technique and finding the story behind songs she chose to tell and telling those stories humbly came from her appreciation of the song.

What Eva’s voice could do with lyrics to the songs she chose to sing made me stop dead in my tracks. I believe the first I found was Fields of Gold years back & I was devastated to learn that she lived so briefly. What gifts she gave to the world in her repertoire. I’ve had many of her songs on repeat through the years as listening to her is so soothing, soul searching, affirming & inspiring. Her delivery seemed so effortless yet the passion was in every phrase. She had me in the palm of her hand from the moment that songbird opened her mouth! Rest in God’s peace, Eva. And, thank you. Thank you so much for being true to yourself.

Many listeners phoned in asking about this girl with the beautiful voice and where could they get her CD. I was one of the listeners and had never heard of Eva before but her voice so pure and beautiful and her story blew me away and I became a huge fan of her's. Eva's "day job" for a long time was working at Behnke's, a local nursery. She was very fond of the place. My late wife worked there too, though not at the same time; I think she heard some stories about Eva. We both loved her music. I feel that you can hear in Eva's performances something elemental and close to nature: "unadorned" but deeply beautiful.

Some artists defy description, but we try. I never met her, but I know her. Mick describes her so well. No BS, just straight ahead heart from this woman. Look at her eyes, they speak volumes. When I first heard her sing, she reduced me to tears within 30 seconds. As a musician, you just know when you hear it, and you don't hear it that often. I think her artistic restraint is one of the biggest components of her amazing ability.
If you take some of the great female singers like Aretha Franklin, or Céline Dion… they almost always manage to find a way in their vocal performances to go ‘over the top’, whereas Eva goes right to the edge of it, but she never goes over - beyond the bounds of good taste.
She is practically unerring in that ability... to push the music as far as it will go, but not beyond it.
I believe (and feel) that her music is a fantastic gift to the world. ❤️

Eva obviously moved as well as impressed this man who had seen so much in his time. His comments speak volumes. Diana Von B - You expressed it exactly. She was pretty on the outside and Beautiful on the inside and that beauty came thru wonderfully. True Beauty is more than appearance and that's what makes a woman beautiful. I've met some beauties in my time but it was only skin deep once you got to know them. Not so with Eva, she was who she was and it made her and her music special.
All those cheap females that use sensuality to make it big couldn't hold a candle to Eva. Someone like her comes along Only Once in Many Lifetimes. She will be remembered by those that were and are touched by her music, for all time. Her life was like a beautiful shooting star that you once saw flash across the night sky and you never forget it. Like that star that was too soon gone, she left a memory that will never be forgotten by all those she touched with her music. Thank You Eva

This was very interesting. Some great insight. I loved Fleetwood Mac when they had Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer. They had "it" that Mick was talking about. When he said Eva reminded him emotionally of playing with Peter Green that takes it on a whole different level. One of the greatest compliments someone could give her. Real raw emotion. Nothing fake. Peter Green was a very sensitive soul...maybe he was looking for answers or relief in the drugs. Its too bad. He lost that innocence. Eva had something emotionally going on inside her too but she kept that innocence and drive. I am glad she never played the game. In 100 ..200 years..when people stumble across these videos of her ..and music..they will find out she played music from a pure place. That is inspiring to me ..and very emotional. It will be to them I am sure. The waves of her energy will spread across time ..and time will remember her...like Autumn Leaves.
