    I have a similar monitor, I recommend getting a mattifying anti-glare screen protector meant for laptops or tablets, and cutting out a 7-inch piece to fit your monitor, works like a charm! :)

      So far I haven't found anything particularly bad with it. It's nice and sharp, built very well (plastic shell but certainly not bendy or flimsy), and is surprisingly bright!

    Absolutely fantastic review! Its the reason I've just purchased one myself! In regards to video latency, is there any way in your experience to improve it? As you say, it will always be there, but I was initially disappointed by how much latency there was when I first had my play (Baring in mind I havent actually used it for the project which was the reason I've bought one in the first place and of course it is my first ever monitor!)
    I was curious whether it was to do with my camera, whether the length or quality of the HDMI cable has any effect on the latency, or if I'm simply hoping for too much! If you have any advice you could give in your expertise it would be greatly appreciated!
    Regardless, its a lovely little monitor, and you guys create fantastic content! Cheers chaps!

    • @TheFilmLook
      @TheFilmLook  Před 7 lety +1

      Different cameras will vary in terms of latency to a monitor - it won't be a lot but a little is enough to be noticeable. Length/Quality of HDMI cables is a myth as far as I'm aware as it is a digital signal, either on or off. Try plugging it into your computer and move your cursor around; if it works like any other monitor then you'll know it's the signal between your camera and monitor.

    Hi! Am I correct in assuming that although the built-in focus assist in the monitor isn't any good, I can still use the focus peaking that comes with my camera through the monitor right?

    • @TheFilmLook
      @TheFilmLook  Před 7 lety

      You can as long as your camera allows a replacement feed to the monitor from the camera screen. I know when some are attached they act as a 2nd monitor and not a replacement. The Sony a7s has both settings but yours may vary.

    I am getting some weird glitches here and there with this monitor.
    sometimes 1 out 30 times it spills some weird horizontal lines and ruins the footage (it makes it unusable so even there is a notification: footage has error.. can not play it back),
    don't know why external.monitor influences footage (I use gh5),
    do you have experience with that? how did you solve it?

    How do you get the monitor to display full screen from your camera. I have a Sony a7sII and i'm getting the cropping bars on the side. The screen on the camera is also not lit up when i connect it like yours is. Any suggestions? Seems like a setting within the camera to setup.

    • @TheFilmLook
      @TheFilmLook  Před 7 lety +1

      +Jeffrey Kallevik I do believe if you access the toolbox menu, there is an HDMI setting to change it from a duplicated screen to a live feed. It might be a little different on the Mark II, but it should be somewhere in your HDMI settings.
