      I think ceaser died because he wasn’t brutal enough. You see… China had a similar thing happen that kicked of the Three Kingdoms Era; however, it was a bunch of Eunuchs Elites that were in charge of a young emporer that all got killed by Dong Zhuo’s faction. It is only through the use of deadly force that things change. People are generally afraid of violence as they should be… But if you don’t want a violent world you abdicate entirely. Take your wealth and leave if your a cancer and go hide away before things change.

Presidents know they’ll only have 8 years so they don’t care if their policies will cause damage 20 years from now. They only think short term. To be honest, I've thought a lot about the birthrate problem facing the modern world. And we're rapidly approaching a point where if we get a Caesar in the near future, he may have to consider implementing full Sov Russia style measures to pump the birthrates back up.
      I'm talking about 3 AM break-ins, dragging people out of their homes gagged and bound, and tossing them into unmarked vans to be taken to underground camps where they will be compelled to procreate. The men don't leave until they've knocked up enough women, women don't leave until they've had enough kids that are alive on arrival.
      Don't want to raise kids because you think they'll be a burden on your life? Not a problem, the camp will raise the children. We just need to get people busy on making them.
      It sounds ugly, but I think this might be the one solution to this modern problem that will resolve this issue for good, if pulled off well. It's plain to see that the current generation of people are a lost cause, but from them we might have a chance to forge a new generation capable of leading the future.

  • @libertatemadvocatus1797
    @libertatemadvocatus1797 Před 27 dny +2

    I'm somewhat of a Romaboo, but you're somewhat wrong here about a few things.
    The issue of Roman soldiers becoming homeless and their families losing their land was an issue some 70 years before Caesar and was what the Gracchi brothers based their political careers on. They were the ones who brought to public attention and were later assassinated by their political rivals.
    The Roman class system arguably had more to do with ancestry than wealth. The classes were broadly divided among the families who founded the Roman Republic, the families who were present in Rome at the time, and those newer arrives. It was theoretically possible for a plebian to be far wealthier (and come from several generations of wealth) than a patrician purely because of ancestry. For example, Sulla came from a very prestigious family, but at the beginning of his political career he was so poor that he was essentially living in the ghetto with a drag queen roommate (yes, really).
    The Optimates were a political faction in Roman politics and not a class. Optimates were primarily focused on preserving the rights and political powers of the aristocratic classes. The Populares were the faction who generally favored more political power to the lower classes. But those labels do not tell the whole story as many Caesar (a Populare) often supported policies popular among the Optimates and Cicero (who was an Optimate who was very critical of the Populares) often promoted reform.
    And Crassus was extremely wealthy before he owned the fire department. He got his wealth when Sulla was dictator who purged the Roman elite and if you turned in an enemy of Sulla; you got most of their property. Well, Crassus turned in almost all of the wealthiest Roman citizens to the point where Sulla actually got annoyed and mentioned to Crassus how funny it was that all the richest people in Rome are plotting against him and how Crassus keeps foiling these plots. Funny enough at that point; Crassus stopped discovering enemies of Sulla. But Crassus owned a fleet of merchant ships, silver mines in Spain, huge plantations all over Italy, and thousands of apartment buildings. And you got the fire department racket incorrect; if your house was on fire; they'd offer to BUY your house at a fraction of the price and keep lowering it by the minute.
    And Caesar was actually the cause of the huge influx of slaves. He enslaved hundreds of thousands of Gauls and used the money from his conquests to fund his political career. He made the situation worse for his own benefit and many of the Optimates and some of the Populares were calling out that his conquests were destabilizing the republic for Caesar's own benefit.
