Here in Central Texas a couple of counties offer a bounty of five dollars a hog. You can either bring in the whole hog or just the tails if you are eating them. I have five acres with a small pond at the bottom of the hill and during the dry summer you see every kind of animal at the pond. One of my neighbors traps down there for me so he really helps keep down the numbers. Otherwise there’d be more hogs than you can count down there. They have no predators other than humans so there is nothing to control the population. We have coyotes who could take down piglets but they don’t want anything to do with momma hog and there is enough food for them to not risk it. Anyway, I remember hunting feral hogs as a kid in the 70s and 80s but the number of hogs today isl several times as many as we had back then.
Time for the hogs to go to Kamp Kenmore for winter vacation. For those that don't like the cold, Jeff offers a special Summer Vacation.
Any progress on Hanna’s house?
Jeff, I am surprised the panels on your trap aren't rounded out. My neighbor uses my trap as he is the first property they come to when leaving the pasture behind us. It has been in use in the same spot for about 3 years and they keep on getting caught. Count is around 200 now. They have rounded it out considerably in that time. Thank you for sharing, appreciate it.
I'd really like to see the skinning shed in action!!
Great video as always. I'd make the trip from WV to bring about 20 or so of those home a year for the families freezer
Enjoyed the video! You’re doing your part. Good luck with y’all getting that 70%. It’s a good start.
If you got access to black locust trees, fell them and slab it up, cause that stuff never rots.
And don’t worry about running out of them trees, the root system will send up new trunks by next spring.
Please make it louder
Great job Jeff- we have no hogs where I am in Canada and I'm thankful for that- keep up the great work
Great video Jeff! Haven"t got any hogs where i live yet, but guess they are working their way here from both north and south states.
Yes sir good job Jeff people don't realize how bad they can be a lot of time and work but well worth it preciate ya🐝👍
Mr. Jeff looks like ya need some of that Osage orange lumber for your Hog traps Sir 😊

Hi Jeff, I still remember the video of you making a trap using slab wood and 4 pine tree near your house that was also very successful
Nothing fancy but definitely did the job
Keep up the great work
You need to watch David Ellis the Yawt Yawt on how trap Hogs.
Keep up the great work you do

Jeff how big is that trap? I just got some land that’s over ran with them and I’d like to build something like this
Thanks
Jeff, need to buy you a mic it is pretty hard to hear what you are saying.
Whats that camo hoodie called
Is it open season on em all year long?
Thanks for the video 👍🏻
Some of the best pulled pork bbq I’ve made was from wild hog
That urine doesn't help galvanized hog panels either, which is what causes the worst rust..
👍👍👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Mantap
Do you help the homless shelters with the wild hogs?
Yes they are a very bad invasive species that wreck crops and the land. North Dakota and Montana are quite worried about them coming across the border from Canada as they have overpopulated in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. I just saw a piece about it on the news today at home here in Winnipeg Manitoba. They reproduce faster than most animals.
Too bad you couldn’t find some stainless steel panels but they would cost out the ass !!! Jeff but amazing what you have to do to get bacon !!
I’m surprised after the first dispatch that the hogs will go in with the smells n stuff.
I made a wild hog baked ziti yesterday, was amazing, wild hog meat is great.
I will go Tuesday for the first time in my life.
Pressure-treated your lumber 20 years ago lasted too long 30 years ago whatever. If it’s that good, they can’t sell a bunch of it so it rots in five years.
Good deal 👌
Have you ever made bacon?😊
Have you looked at the the traps that David Ellis uses? Big Pig traps. He caught 29 pigs in one trap.
Those traps like David uses cost between $3,500 & $5,000 I doubt Jeff will spend that kinda money on one trap. Yeah I watch David and Daniel Arms uses a trap like that too on his channel but they’re expensive. If the trap company wants to sponsor Jeff with a trap I’m sure he’d do it but I doubt he comes off the hip With that kinda money when he can build one like he’s got for $200-$250.
How does feral hog meat compare to comerically raised hog meat? Texture and flavor? Anyone?
What’s the material list on your trap I would like to build one
Galvanized mesh 6 sheets. 50 pressure treated boards. Box of galvanized screws. String.
Miss Hannah bein in the vids with you
I know you are going to have part 2.
Looks like fun can I help ❤
What happened to hannah
Nothing has happened to Hanna. This is Jeff Barrons channel. Hanna is a grown woman with a life of her own.
Right on it's just she use to be on the channel quite a bit and now she is not.
Have you ever caught yourself? #phoneafriend
Thanks for your work controlling the population
Happy eating
I think its a waste of your time trying to cover traps with cover and branches... unlike deer and most other wild animals.... they dont give a flip and.all they care about is eating when its time to eat (especially feeding there piglets)
You and cowboy Kent Rollins need to get together on a collaboration catch and cook. I think it would be a great collaboration
