- @AngwinFamilyPigeons To help out with the cost-of-living crisis another money saving tip from me, is to make your own Garlic infused Cold Pressed Rapeseed oil
This is so cheap to make compared with the shop bought versions
On the video I did say that the oil was under £2, however like most things right now, that price has increased & the cold pressed Rapeseed oil that I usually buy is now £2.49 from Lidl
I buy the garlic there also which works out at 39p per bulb
My recipe will cost you around £2.88 per 500ml bottle
meaning you can save yourself some serious money!
With some of the specialised pigeon garlic infused oils retailing for nearly £10 for only 250ml 🤬(half the amount!)
So have a go & make your own!
Let me know how you get on
Plus as breeding time is upon us & I had a question from a viewer (thank you) about dealing with a wet nest so make sure to watch to the end of the video to find out my top tip for drying the nest up 🐣

Cracking vid John
Thanks Jack
Hi John
Is it Rising Bridge in Accrington that you use? Other than Layers Pellets, do you use other products from them. I’m asking because this is my local merchant. Thanks again for your videos- they are excellent!
Yes it is mate, I use their best all rounder and straights, beans peas wheat barley and seeds like hemp linseed safflower so I can mix my own breeder. Thanks for watching. All the best John
Thanks again John. I really enjoy the videos!
@@AngwinFamilyPigeons Thanks for sharing with me, John.
Hi John brilliant video I'm not into racing pigeons i keep Birmingham rollers just wondered how long the oil will keep many thanks.
Once opened Keep in a cool place for up to a month👍
Why not just buy Morrisons garlic oil ?
Hi mate, thanks for the question. This series of videos are all about saving money with the cost of everything going up. Morrisons infused garlic oil here is £5, my way the oil cost less than £2.50, a 50% saving. If your on a budget it all helps. Have a good season Regards John
How often do you put this Garlic oil on the feed?
Thanks for the comment Mike, I use it twice a week sometimes three for my breeders, I normally put some minerals on the corn when the oil is mixed in well. My racers get it once a week with some minerals.
Great tip John and good for the pocket 😅
