As @joecat4115 said, I missed two semi-hidden features. The LFO can be synced by clicking on "Speed" and the side chain can be external by clicking "Routing"
As a hobbyist, who owns almost everything, I really like it, especially the simplicity to sound ratio. I'm personally having a few months off on purchases, but will look again at this in the future.
I too like this a lot, despite having many synths this one is fun to use. They really thought about how to making it limited but fun to explore. The sound quality is great too.

Two semi-hidden features:
1) You can in fact sync the LFO to your DAW - right-click the "Speed" label under the fader. Unfortunately, it's missing dots/triplets (I'm finding this with a number of synths lately), but maybe that will come in an update.
2) The sidechain can be routed to an external signal - this is a right-click on the "Routing" label.
Who reads manuals anyway haha! Thanks for the info :) That makes this synth better!
overall soundquality and workflow seems great. i personally find the sidechain pumping parameter too gimmicky because it assumes 4tothefloor, a really specific pump curve and as you said can't be divided. so unless that routing feature you were missing to notice there solves at least one of these problems i don't think even a beginner would touch that parameter. but i love the idea of a battery parameter for adding noise, distortion and uneven pitch drifts. i have some old children's toys here, that also synthesize sound and whenever you just let them turned on while the battery is already screwed it will stay silent for hours and then suddenly jumpscare you with screechy noise in the middle of the night. i'd love that to be emulated as well. it would honestly be a little gimmicky as wellbut also embrace the circuit bending fascination of broken or underpowered machines
yeah! it would be amazing to have a plugin that explores more in depth everything battery draining related.

I still use a 32 bit version of the Hahaha CS01 VST. Was a fantastic free emulation of the original. I'd have to really compare the filter on this to take before buying this

Why should I invest in a synth like this, 49USD for this! I would rather invest on a cherry audio synth (Mercury 6 costs the same)

If you are not sure don't buy it, that's my thinking. Still this has a different flavor, which is always good and is another way to have fun making sound
It's a shedload of money for what it is. Oh well, that have produced some wonderful other plugins.

@@AlexReidStudios I think they'll struggle with this synth, even if they drastically reduce the price. The competition is way ahead of them. For effects they're perfectly competitive though.

It does look nice. nothing really ground breaking either (except their first synth^^) but the price is too high for what is does. Cherry audio makes fm synth cheaper and others too.
That's true. I see it more as another flavour and playground to have! Now of course I got this one for free (thank you Baby Audio), so I understand that the price is a bit high for many.

Oh yeah baby that filter is nasty! I will surely get this for the intro offer for my lofi synthwave needs. I'm a "dedicated tool for the job" type of person and even tho I could replicate 90% of what this synth does with other plugins, that's not the point for me. I get distracted really easily and having every option under the sun with Serum or Pigments when all I want is a gnarly vintage sound machine would most likely lead to choice paralysis and get me nowhere. I think 99€ is a bit much for what it is (especially considering the TAL U-No LX is only 55€) but I don't have a dedicated synthwave plugin yet and I like Baby Audio as a company sooo I'm opening my wallet.
That's what I thinl too. For me I'm a bit of both, I have some synths that do it all, and alsohave others for specific reasons

What am I missing? I bought it immediately and regret it. It's a complete misfire for me.
Happened to me on other plugins, always demo first!
What I like is the tone, the workflow and the added features. Dunno, when a synth or effect clicks on my I tendo to make many sounds, and that was the case
Still It might simply that is not of your taste, nothing bad with that.
I like these simple synths because bitwig can expand their possibilities.
I know right? I'm planning a video about that
