- Another day, another ridiculous bug in CS2. But by god… this one might just take the cake.
Fittingly dubbed the “MJ Peek”, this new piece of movement tech which started as a unique issue for specific types of keyboards has now taken the entire community by storm and, until Valve fix it, may actually offer a competitive advantage….

Happened to me while I was playing window Mirage, buddy peeked top mid like that and I was genuinely just confused and wanted to know wtf just happened, I know now and I can promise I am not upset about it 🤣 shits so funny holy

The wooting keyboard doesnt use Optical/laser switches. They use Hall-effect (lil magnets) switches.
Yep. Not a first time hearing, that someone is calling Wooting an optical keyboard
also a great news for us consumers is that switch manufacturers like huano who is the OEM for a lot of popular switch makers started making hall-effect switches. So soon we'll get *actually* good keyboards with hall-effect switches. At the moment if you buy a wooting, you literally have to replace everything but the PCB and the switches plus several mods and you have to lube all the switches to make it sound like a stock $90 keyboard which is sad af. I love my wooting but I also hate it.
@ICCraider Huano, Gateron and Raesha are the current OEMs making and releasing Hall Effect switches though they're not for sale via aftermarket for direct to consumer at the moment I believe. The main downside/quirk is due to how they're constructed internally they're mostly only available in linear and have a specific sound profile to them so they do require some heavy modding but they'll never sound like traditional tactiles for example.
I got a DrunkDeer A75 recently (cant live without my F row and arrow keys at the ready) and tape modded, installed foam inside and got their aluminum case and even though it sounds pretty decent with pbt keypads, the fact it's only with a steel plate and very lightly gasket mounted makes it very firm to type on. Because these keyboards require very specific PCBs it'll be a while before we see aftermarket options en masse in terms of mounting and plate options.
I love it when sequels still have their predecessor's bugs.

The factthat Valve chat their banner to the MJPeak banner shows that the studio has a soul and is run by people who are just like you or I whereas most studios are just lifeless. I enjoy that they appreciate a good meme and they join in on it. They embrace their shortcoming instead of some studios that will to save face, use the line of "If you dont like it, dont buy it" and try blame the consumer.

The wooting keyboard DOES NOT use infrared lasers, it uses Hall effect sensors. These measure magnetic fields, there are magnets in the bottom of the switch stems that when press down allow the stronger magnetic fields closer to the magnet to come closer to the sensor.

Yesterday I was watching from overpass A-spot (stairs to banana) to the outer banana pathway where its possible to see a shadow on the ground of a person before he leaves the small square that connects fountain + ballons + connector + banana.... long story short i got 2 headshots before I even saw a person showing up... there was only a slight shadow on the ground

set FOV to 120 and walls glitch , often u can see thru walls :D it completely bugs out

I don't really have interest in cs2 as I'm only kinda into valorant, was into overwatch, but I mostly love the hero shooter idea with variety of playstyles. This peek is really funny though.

The fact that valve has quick countermeasures on these bugs probably means they intentionally put the bugs there in the first place to see how people react.

I know a bug nobody is talking about. If you play on low settings, the smokes are completely see through in this game. You will see a silhouette of the player walking by the smoke very clearly.
If someone can tell me where to report bugs, maybe I could post a clip ?
MJ would be proud
