when the music stops, I can hear the sounds of birds, crickets and the wind. it feels very calming and relaxing. ❤
Honestly it's beautiful here and so peaceful 🤗
Dave and Sofia Great garden sheeps will be needed...
Thankyou and yes definitely haha we want to start with 2 ewes 🐑
Very productive week again.. cheers to you both❤️❤️
Thankyou!!!! We have got the cladding for washroom now so hopefully we have a good one for you next week 😊
I can certainly see why you want some sheep, they will be in heaven with the way that homestead grows all those great sources of food that they can graze on. Keep up the great work you are doing, and it must really suck doing almost all of the work without your partner. Give it time and you guys will thrive with that great piece of land and outbuildings you bought there. Congrats!!!
2 sheep would have a field day here literally haha I think they would get fat pretty fast hahahha will be funny seeing them play with Walt! 🐕😆
I just found your channel....I have to admit to binge watching 😆 Your choice of music is wonderful 💞
Aww that's lovely and welcome to the channel, that's made my day as I spend so long trying to get the right music. So where abouts in the world are you watching from 😊
Love your choice of music with this video ...
So, So..... soothing... suites you both.... laid back and care free... 🥰
Thankyou so much. I've been talking about your last comment all week. It literally made our week. 🙏🙏🙏🤗
Add a climber around it and fairy solar lights and a birdhouse
Yeah that'll be lovely 🤩
Grow a colourful climber of some sorts at the old stump perhaps . Good choice of music again.
Yeah like something red or purple maybe
I like the birds sing better than the music.
I try and do some with just background music next week to hear the birds and crickets 😎
What a lovely video! The trellis and gateway are a wonderful addition! I bet you could hang a single or two solar yard pathway light, from that old dead tree, might look lovely, instead of complete chop. It's looking kinda artsy now!❤ Thank you for sharing this wonderful video! ( the price of all the water pieces seemed a little high, I would shop around)
Aww bless you thankyou and yes I'm coming round to the idea of a arty tree with lights hahah
What a beautiful video. Such a wonderful place you’re going to have in the end. What an adventure
Thankyou so much I'm glad you can see the vision. I planted some.corn about an hour ago too
I like the rustic look of the gate! It has a certain charm. When the garden grows it will look so pretty.
Next week projects sounds exciting! Cant wait to tune in and see what you and Sophia are up to! I know Walt will be supervising! 😂
Have a fantastic weekend!👍🥰
Thankyou!!!!! I need a hard hat for Walt don't I hahah 🤗
Good work. Keep on.
Cheers Paulo 🙏😊😊😊
Keeping busy
Always something to do here hahaha
I enjoyed every second of this video!! Lots of work in a few short days. So talented and I love if you’re not quite sure of how something works, you admit it and ask or find out how it’s done. Your Dalmatian is so darn cute. Wish I was there to give him some loving. They are a busy breed and he is in the perfect place to get the exercise he needs. Have a great week and thanks too, for the beautiful music.
Thankyou that's the joy of life we get to try things and if we fail we learn and improve and grow. I used to be so scared to fail and now I almost think it's necessary to improve! Walt is adorable isn't he and he loves following us about all day. If you ever pass through Portugal I'm sure you can come and say hello to him 😁😁😁
great vid guys looking great.
Thanks Shane!!!!
Chainsaw that stump into a sculpture of a hand reaching up to the sky!
That would be awesome ...... Maybe out our skill level though 🤣
Morning Dave,, nice job on the fence, agree with other posters re tomatoes ,plant deep, hold by leaves. for Corn grow in a block maybe 10 plants square, they pollinate much much better that way.
Thanks Dave! Ah excellent advice dude. I think the first corn has sprouted so excited as I've never been successful with it before
This bore hole is mind blowing concept for me mate , back home we have a well and hand pump to get the water out in the villages 😂 cheaper then the prices you have been quoted but it involves a lot of walking to get your water to places 😂
Dude these horses will need 100 litres a day I will have the world's biggest forearms hahahha 🚜
Love from Wolverhampton
Cheers bro! When are you going to review those beans haha
The fence and gate is great,I think afternoon tea is in order in the front lawn 😊❤😊❤😊
Ohh I like that idea, sandwiches, cakes and biscuits haha 🙏🤗
Nice to see your getting Walt involved. A full family project 👍
He's the supervisor 🤣
La bomba es una inversión perfecta y necesaria , a ver si la vemos funcionar pronto . En el enrejado de la puerta podéis poner glicinia .
Wisteria will be lovely there is some Chinese wisteria by the compost pile Ill try and dig it up and move it to the cow shed. I love the purple colour they have!!!!!
@@escapetothequinta puede quedar Preciosa , seguro que consigues que florezca . Yo la tengo en blanco , todos los colores son preciosos 🪷
Yes one day it will be stunning
Holy moly!!! Pausing again after you measured the pipe!! That's crazy deep!
I know right!!!!!!
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, your generator is not fully on it is still on the shook you have to pull back a lever above the air filter if it runs on the shook it doesn't give 230 volt so maybe your pomp is still good 😊. Good work guys 👍💪😁
Thankyou so much for the advice. Love seeing your comments pop up 😊😊😊😊🙏
Add "Buy me a coffee" to your channel so we can help out😀💜
I never thought about this. I'm not sure anyone would be interested haha we need it to be called "buy me a tree" hahahah
Cut a lamp stand out of that tree, you can shape it beautifully.
As in put a hole through it?
Leave the fence posts long incised you have to raise the fence.
Also you can just plant the tomatoes deeper
Too late whoops tbf they were really too big but we may grow some grapes around the fence that could work! Just planted some corn too never had any luck in the UK with that so let's see hahah 🤣
great video guys, scary how deep that borehole is, and you can make kitchen spoons and a fruitbasket out of that dead tree, that wood is so beautiful. it will sell good online.
Yes a spoon will be lovely I recon ill need a few attempts before I get one to look like a spoon hahhh
@@escapetothequinta you can do it
What I do know is we will give it a go haha 😆
Good job!!! Did you test the continuity on the well pump wiring? Lots of times if a submersible pump has a waterlogged pressure tank the pump will cycle off and on over and over twisting the wire down in the well until it brakes the internal wire. I assume you will be adding a pressure switch and tank? Get your well tested for flow and Bacteria also you should test total well depth and static water level. Keep up the good work!!!
Great advice thankyou. And yes we had continuity which I was sure.it wouldn't have. I think it maybe broke years ago. The main thing is the hole is dug that's surely the most expensive part 😊🙏
Great progress Guys! 🌿 I love the little touches you’ll are adding to your home That dead tree stump looks amazing! You could maybe scrape it lightly and apply a sealer Can also hang the name of your home with the lights you mentioned 😉 Have a great weekend ✨️
I love that idea putting the name on the stump and maybe add a bird feeder too
@@escapetothequinta Indeed! A bird feeder!!! Absolute must! 💯 Can't wait to that 🐦
Thankyou we have crows here so bought some unshelled peanuts apparently they love them
@@escapetothequinta Yes! They go nuts for nuts! 😅 Good weekend 🙏
I need a trail cam next to catch them in action apparently there's a chance they bring you gifts too haha
Mine has 87 meters but water is at 32 don not worry the pump comes with 100m cable you lower the pump till end then you raise it 7 meters from the end do not worry if the water is higher
Ahhh awesome thankyou. I suppose if it's at the bottom it gets full of silt. I will.make sure I raise it an extra 7 metres. It looks like it's full of water though which is awesome 😎
I see you took my advice and started planting out fruit and vegetables..I planted my tomatoes and courgettes today also.im sure yours will grow better as Portuguese climate is probably going to be better than our rainy Irish weather... although todaywe did hit 22 degrees that's probably our summer..what variety tomatoes did you plant?...don't worry about the ants they will keep down aphids and pests
Yes I did haha thankyou you kickstarted our growing season. I think they are Roma tomatoes. There.is also a heritage variety here which is huge I need to try them too. I know what you mean about the Irish weather my family is from Drogheda. So much rain but when it's sunny it's up there with the most picturesque countries 🙏😎😊
@@escapetothequinta I'm in Kildare but more south.. Drogheda is nice too I'm from Blackheath in the west midlands originally been in Ireland 30 years love it here.... tomatoes I've gone for this year are old favourites I've gone for moneymaker and gardeners delight.heavy croppers..I've grown san Marzano in the past and beefsteak...just don't get those cherry tomatoes...
Will have to try those! No way I used to play football in Blackheath just down the road from me really I'm from Bournville Harborne way 🙏😊😊😊
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤
Thankyou 🤗🤗🤗
Please may I know who's singing in the background? It's a lovely voice.
What time in the video is the song you like I can send you the details then 😊😊😊🙏
Great episode. Are you living in the barn house?
Yeah hahaha. Camping stove and all hahah. Basically glamping haha 🤣 memories for life haha
Don’t hold the stem of the tomato plant hold it by the leaves same goes for all seedlings .
Ahhh I didn't know this I will do from now on thankyou that's brilliant advice! They need every chance they can get to grow here haha 🤣
Plant tomatoes deep they prefer it
Ahhhh I've just planted some Roma tomatoes so when these germinate I'll plant these much deeper thanks 🙏🙏🙏
Am 100 percent sure the ants were in the soil before you planted them. Wish I was there to help you out.
Yeah I think they must have been there already I'm sure they can't cause too much damage 🤐🤐🤐 I'll take the help for sure hahahah
Pausing, my guess is 25feet.
That's about what I initially thought 😂
What the hell is strim? 😅 Do you mean you are trimming???? 🤣
Ah it must be a UK thing we call it strimming the grass haha 😂
Why don't you get a professional to take a look at the old bore hole...it may be fixable
I think I will and maybe utilise it in the well as that seems super deep too! Once we have water on the land things will be so much easier haha
