- Illustrator Tutorial The Unite Tool and Compound Paths. Another Free Adobe illustrator tutorial on using the Unite tools in the pathfinder window option. In terms of options I use on a daily bases, this little button is used the most. The adobe illustrator Unite button ensures my colour and graphics elements are in place before I send it off for production be it business cards, banners or custom t shirts.

Thank you! That expand option was driving be nuts. It used to be available immediately in older versions.
It’s weird hey, I actually can’t remember when I had to start using the ‘command’ key. I do remember it just doing it’s thing though haha. Thanks Erik.
Legend that really helped me out mate.
That's awesome and thanks for the comment!
Thank you for this video. I want to compound few obcjects while holding option key. After that, I cant see Expand Do you know how to fix that?
I’m pretty new to graphic design and AI so just wanted to ask how do you swap between the shapes to make one be on top of the other? Hope that made sense? Loving your videos. 🙌🏽😊
I think you may be asking either about layers or arrangement. If you place an object on its own layer you can move this object easily above or below other objects. If on the same layer, select the object and go to the ‘object’ tab - ‘arrange’ and move to top bottom or which ever selection.
@@KeeponCreatingTV thank you for reply. Yes I think I meant arrangement on same layer. So I'm gonna give it a go as when you was going from the square to triangle, you was doing it so smoothly without having to go to a tab. Unless it was a short cut you was doing. But I think you understood my question...not sure if I understand my question now! Lol 😁🙌🏽
Can we have one compound path with two different colour?
You could technically, but using clipping path to place in the colour
