Where I live in Australia I’ve always heard them being called either a Footpath or Shortcut as it’s faster to cut between two houses then it is to walk to the end of the street and go around
In Hull we'd call it an alleyway, cut through or even a passageway! A tenfoot is 10 foot wide for cars to get down to a garage at the end of your garden.
I showed my mum this video and she even said that people in Manchester and from tv shows based in Manchester that they call it a ginnel or alley way so it's a bit of both

When i lived in Ireland, it was refered to as a bohereen in Cork and Ginnel in Leixlip. I'd more often hear passage or passageway though. Alley was used closer to Dublin for city streets between houses (Often Paved)
American here. We simply call it an alley or an alleyway. Mostly alley as it’s just a shorter word. Sometimes in American neighborhoods though, these are non-existent and we share the back fence with a neighbor. It gets interesting when the dogs start to dig under 😂
I'm from Salford, and that is an alleyway. I have a ginnel (a sheltered access path to the back garden between my house and the nextdoor neighbour) I just thought I would throw that in there...
